Legendary vocalist DAVID BOWIE has died aged 69 after an eighteen month long battle with cancer.
David‘s son Duncan Jones confirmed the news and a statement was released on social media, including David‘s official Facebook page. The official statement reads:
“January 10 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
David was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter, and actor. Bowie was a figure in popular music for over six decades, and was known as an innovator throughout his career, with legendary hits such as ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Starman’, ‘Ashes To Ashes’ and so many more.
David ‘s last album “Blackstar” was released on 8th January 2016, his 69th birthday.
