Hailing from Bangladesh, the three-piece SERPENT SPELLS is yet another band to get under the wings of Godz Ov War Productions. Owing to the collaboration, the debut EP entitled ‘Mantras Within Ascending Fire’ featuring nearly twenty minutes of unique Blackened Death Metal will be released as soon as on May 31.
Four tracks contained on the release closely follow the classics of extreme music and bring to mind the accomplishments of Sarcofago or Archgoat. Still, SERPENT SPELLS‘ music is not only murderous tempos, wild vocal parts or thick and demoniacal riffs. The band takes you by surprise with their well thought-over rhythm arrangements, they are brave enough to bring in unusual melodies or incorporate oriental accents that make their music sound exotic. The whole thing, be it brutal and raw, sounds most lucid and contemporary.
The cover was created by Michael Capili, and the excellent layout was developed by Marckus.
