Let me tell you how my night went last night…
Ramin Hosseinabad and I arrived at the Riot Room in KCMO at around 6pm…Venom Inc bus shows up a few minutes later, out steps Tony Dolan, comes over to me and says hello, takes me inside the venue with him…
Soon we are joined by Jeff Dunn (Mantas) and he sits and talks with us for close to 30 min, answering all our questions about Venom and his love of the Blues, even his love of EARLY KISS!!!
We then go up to the stage and watch them sound check “Poison”, which sounded SO amazing!!!! Tony walks up to me and says he wants to get a pic of me on stage with his Bass, making my best Metal face (didn’t do half bad IMO)…then he tells me to get behind the drum kit and do the same…
They go out to the bus. We get a beer and in walks Tony Bray (Abaddon) and sits down with us and hangs for a half hour as well, we pick his brain about all things Venom, the remaining YEAR worth of touring (these guys tour NON STOP…they love their fans!!!!
So it’s about 12am and as Venom is about to take the stage, their tour manager Casey tells us to hang close to the side of the stage, the boys have something special around encore time…we get to see one of the tightest, most intense shows I’ve ever been too…THEN Tony calls ME up on stage, introduces me to the crowd and explains I won a contest online…Abaddon gives me a bunch of goodies (Signed Drumstick, signed Bass Strings, signed Guitar Strings, new tour Guitar Picks…saying there’s one of these, one of these…then hands me a bottle of Jack and says one of these…so I take a deep swig!!! Then they all surround me and take a photo with me on stage and Bobbi Jean Jewell was kind enough to take photos and send them to me…as I’m about to leave Tony says he wants me to announce the last song of the night…so I walk to the mike and scream as loud as I can “COUNTESS BATHORY”!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I stand off to the side and watch them play that classic…
Pretty much your average Saturday Night???
I want to thank the 2 Tony’s, Jeff and Casey for making last night the BEST concert experience I’ve ever had…and I’d like to think I’ve got some new friends as well!!! Thanks so much guys!!! Hope to catch you at another Venom
Inc show soon!!!!
