After 46 years and more than 100 million albums sold, Aerosmith are today announcing their European farewell tour, “Aero-Vederci Baby!”. The tour makes one single stop in Sweden – at the Sweden Rock Festival on Thursday, June 8th!
Aerosmith has conquered the world in two segments. On their native soil, they became one of the very biggest acts already in the 70s, with songs like “Dream on”, “Walk this way” and “Sweet emotion”. In the 80s, Europe was also won over, and the album trio “Permanent vacation” (1987), “Pump” (1989) and “Get a grip” (1993) became multi-million sellers spawning a slew of hit singles. Ever since, these bluesily and funkily grooving hard rock titans have ranked among the very elite of mega stars.
But nothing lasts forever. So when the full classic line-up featuring Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) och Joey Kramer (drums) return to Sweden and the Sweden Rock Festival, it will be for the last time.
“It’s been 3 years since we have been on tour in Europe and I can speak for my brothers that we can’t wait to get over there and take it up a few notches. Last tour in South America we were running on all cylinders and I can see no reason to let up now”, says Joe Perry.
Steven Tyler adds: “Aerosmith just got done ripping through South America like true ambassadors of rock. The band is unstoppable right now and in Europe, we’re going to keep doing what we do best… Let The Music Do The Talking.”
Sweden Rock Festival takes place in Sölvesborg on June 7th-10th. Tickets will go on sale and more artists will be announced on November 24th at 9 am. http://www.swedenrock.com
