Classic line-up
The image of death in book and new music! A book telling the story of the legendary brazilian doomers IMAGO MORTIS motivated the reunion of the band’s original lineup, which recorded a new song after twenty years of separation. Fabio Shiva‘s “Diary of a Imago: Tales and Causes of an Underground Band” presents Heavy Metallers IMAGO MORTIS from an unusual perspective, with many bizarre situations and hilarious episodes. The title of the book is humorous, paraphrasing “The Diary of a Magus” by Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho.

The book, which is not restricted to heavy rock fans, also captures the intense technological and social transformations that have taken place in the world over the past two decades. Recently released on Amazon, “DIARY OF A IMAGO” is competing for the Kindle Prize. Check out here: https://www.amazon.com.br/dp/B07Z5CBTQ3
The author, Fabio Shiva (bass), was one of the band’s founders in the 1990s. To help him uncover the band’s funniest stories, former members Fabrício Barretto (guitar), Alex Guimarães (keyboards), Flavio Duarte (drums) and Tufi Sami (vocals) met in a group on WhatsApp, along with manager Janna Souza and current Imago singer Alex Voorhees.

‘LSD’ album Line-up
What nobody expected was that from this meeting would come a new song from Imago Mortis, recorded with each musician in his corner: Fabrício and Fabio in Bahia, Tufi and Duarte in Rio de Janeiro, Alex Voorhees in Rio Grande do Sul and Alex Guimarães in the Caribbean. A more than adequate example for the changes mentioned in the book, which begins by recounting the band’s adventures to record a cassette tape.
The song, “The Mystery of Life”, can be checked below:
