Singer ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN can easily be called the hardest working and most versatile singer in the Netherlands. She will forever be mentioned as a singer of The Gathering but since 2007 she has built up her own solid solo career. That she is a musical chameleon is evidenced by collaborations with artists such as Devin Townsend, Anathema, Icelandic folk group Árstíðir, Napalm Death and BLØF.
2019 was all about the 25-year anniversary of Anneke’s career, this anniversary was celebrated with 2 sold-out shows in the Effenaar in her hometown Eindhoven, and she was rewarded with a Buma ROCKS! Export Award for most successful singer in the heavy genre. Anneke is currently working on a (semi) acoustic album, in order to give her fans a glimpse of what is to come, she sets off solo in March and April 2020 for a number of acoustic performances that will take her to special locations.
“Anneke goes to Church” is a series of unique performances in an intimate setting.
