20 years of Vogelfrey

Two decades ago, a group of young students came together and formed the band Vogelfrey in March 2004.
Today, 20 years later, we can hardly believe what it has become. Thanks to the countless support of unwavering fans of folk, metal and rock music and not least thanks to the great help from our circle of friends and colleagues!

One of the longest songs to accompany the band is “Heldentod”. Back then it was still a rocky, folky, rather light-hearted anthem, but it soon became the first Vogelfrey song to be recognised in wider circles.

Times have changed, Vogelfrey have changed. The band has made it their mission to give the warlike hymn a suitably sombre tone. WHeldentod” now shines in a new, more metallic splendour! A new sound, more modern tones, a new solo. A clear, unembellished finger pointing at the horrors of war.
