Rockin’1000 – The Biggest Rock Band on Earth – will debut in Portugal on Saturday, September 14 at l’Estádio Municipal in Leiria. This extraordinary event will feature 1000 musicians playing in unison with a repertoire of iconic covers that have shaped Rock History, all in one thrilling two-hour performance.
Known worldwide for the viral video that brought the Foo Fighters to Italy, Rockin’1000 is an unprecedented musical project with an international community of over 75,000 musicians. In Portugal, this event is presented in collaboration with MOT – Memories of Tomorrow, a leader in organizing large-scale events in the country. For the Rockin’1000 concert in Portugal, 200 drummers, 300 guitarists, 200 bassists, 50 keyboardists, and 250 singers will be involved, totaling 1000 talents coming together to create an unparalleled musical experience, blending international rock classics with songs from Portuguese rock culture.
“We are thrilled to bring Rockin’1000 to Portugal for the first time. This new leg of our journey is an exciting opportunity for us, and we are confident it will be an extraordinary experience.” – states Fabio Zaffagnini, Founder of Rockin’1000 – “Over the past 10 years, we have traveled through numerous countries, Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Spain, USA, and Korea, broadening our culture and understanding of rock music through encounters with very different musicians, famous and not, who have decided to join the project. One constant remains unchanged: the audience’s reaction. Wherever we go, we see spectators standing up, dancing, and singing at the top of their lungs from the first to the last song. It’s an emotion that’s hard to describe using words; the only way to understand what happens is to participate.”
Applications for musicians are always open on the website http://www.rockin1000.com, and in Portugal, both those already registered and new talents from the Portuguese territory are welcome. ROCKIN’1000 – The Biggest Rock Band on Earth with a grand mission: to enable anyone who can sing or play an instrument to live the dream of every musician – to travel the world and perform in major stadiums together! It all started in 2015 when, for the first time, 1000 musicians played together in a field in Cesena to convince the Foo Fighters to come to Italy. The video went viral, the band said yes, and the rest is history. Today, with over 80,000 musicians from around the world, the Rockin’1000 band is touring the globe, performing in France, Germany, Brazil, Spain, and Italy. They perform and play in unison with 1000 musicians at a time, creating fantastic experiences that are unforgettable for both the musicians and the audience. Rockin’ 1000 allows any musician or singer to participate and become part of the world’s largest rock band, bridging the gap between the audience and the stage. Signing up is simple: you just need to fill out a short form on the website www.rockin1000.com and attach a video demonstrating your ability to play and/or sing. Applications are reviewed by the Music Gurus (music teachers, responsible for different instrumental sections: vocals, drums, guitars, bass, and keyboards), and if accepted, you can sign up and participate in scheduled events worldwide.
