Following the release of their debut album âSummertime Sorrowâ in March 2024, the German Atmospheric Post-Black metallers A SOMBER FUNERAL are back with a standalone-single ‘Celestial Child’, set to be released on December 27th!
The new song deviates thematically from the concept of the upcoming second album, which is currently being recorded! âCelestial Childâ shows the creative features of the band in a strikingly independent way!
A SOMBER FUNERAL:
“This song is dedicated to a mother (name unknown) who lost her child two weeks before birth. I met her during my vacation in the summer of 2013.”

A SOMBER FUNERAL was founded in late 2023 by Alex and Chris, both members of the band BLACK AEONS. The German ATMOSPHERIC POST-BLACK METAL duo released their debut album “Summertime Sorrow” in March 2024.
December 27, 2024 is the official release date of the new composition “Celestial Child” – the new song didnât fit thematically into the concept of the upcoming album, which is currently being recorded. For this reason, the duo decided to release it as a standalone-single ⌠[ learn more here  ]
