After a somehow quiet first single, TROLD picks pace with their second advance song and video from the upcoming album “I Skovens Rige”.

“Med Høtyv Og Fakkel” takes place in the usual Trold background: the forest. The market square is buzzing with life on the edge of the forest. A happy boy runs innocently through the crowd, but a hooded troll lurks in the background. The song picks up speed as the troll takes the boy under his arm and his legs on his neck up the hill. The market square stinks of trolls and the hunt is now on for the troll with hay thief and torch.

Welcome, people and friends, to the Kingdom of the Forest. Trold are finally back, with the sequel to their debut album, titled “I Skovens Rige”. Since “Der Var Engang…” the Danish trolls have been brewing their next adventure in the caves, which is now about to begin. This time they have trudged even further into the deep forest and have written a collection of stories that all centers around the theme of the forest.

All songs in “I Skovens Rige” center in one way or another on the forest, and the listener is taken on adventures of many kinds. The atmosphere is intense and it goes from a furious hunt to a mournful farewell and on to folk celebration and singing together. The focus is on melodies and energy, while the folk aspect continues to compliment Trold’s melodic folk metal. True to tradition, it is full of surprises in the form of guest performances from Esse (ex-HateSphere) on death vocals, Lars Thiesgaard (a famous Danish actor) on characteristic speak and Laura Emilie Beck (ex-Huldre, Ællevild) on violin, among others.

On “I Skovens Rige”, Trold shows their strongest side and cements a solid place on the Danish and international metal scene.

“I Skovens Rige” will be released on gatefold LP (green vinyl limited to 500), digipack CD (including 28-page booklet) and digital on March 14th, 2025 via Mighty Music.
