Italian power metal stalwarts ALTERIUM have released their rendition of SYMPHONY X’s iconic track “Paradise Lost”, now available digitally on all major platforms.

Originally born as a playful experiment and now included in the CD edition of the new “Stormrage” EP, the cover stands as a heartfelt tribute to one of the bands that most profoundly influenced the Italian group.

Its release comes just days before ALTERIUM’s appearance at ProgPower USA – the very same edition headlined by SYMPHONY X – making this homage all the more significant.

The band commented:

“Our love for Symphony X’s music has always been one of the things that united us: each band member has their own musical tastes, but Symphony X are the perfect common ground. This cover wasn’t planned at all, it came about almost as a game. When Symphony X were later announced as the headliners of ProgPower USA – the same edition we’ll also be part of – we took it as a sign that this cover really had to be released. So we included it on the CD version of the ‘Stormrag’e EP, and today we’re releasing it digitally, just a few days before meeting our idols.”

To support the release, ALTERIUM have embarked on a series of select shows and festivals across Europe and will make their highly anticipated US debut at the ProgPower festival in Atlanta.

This new chapter sees the band sharpening their songwriting and delivering a fresh burst of adrenaline that both longtime fans and newcomers will appreciate. Epic, melodic, and unrelentingly driven, “Stormrage” reaffirms ALTERIUM’s mission to carry the torch of European metal with pride and power.

ALTERIUM is an Italian power metal quintet founded in late 2022 by vocalist Nicoletta Rosellini (ex. Kalidia, Walk in Darkness), joined by former bandmates Paolo Campitelli (guitars) and Dario Gozzi (drums), and later by Alessandro Mammola (guitars) and Luca Scalabrin (bass).

Produced by Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call), their debut album “Of War And Flames” was released on March 8, 2024 via AFM Records, featuring 9 original tracks and a cover of Sabaton’s “Bismarck”. The album received excellent feedback, surpassing 1 million streams on Spotify and 1.2 million views on YouTube.

Even before the album’s release, ALTERIUM hit the stage across Europe, including performances at Epic Fest (Denmark) and Brainstorm Fest (Netherlands), marking the beginning of their growing presence on the international metal scene.
