Since their formation, German individualists HARKON have been delivering sophisticated, melodic, and at the same time powerful HEAVY METAL.
After “The Errorist”, the North Rhine-Westphalians released their 3ʳᵈ single, “Blood Will Have Blood” on October 31.
Following their EP “Ruins Of Gold” (2019), the band’s long-awaited debut album “Love And Vore” is finally released via Doc Gator Records: a powerful work that balances catchiness and progressiveness, carried by strong hooks, anthemic choruses, and profound lyrics.
“‘Blood Will Have Blood’ is a proverb meaning that violence breeds more violence, a concept famously expressed by Macbeth in Shakespeare’s eponymous play. So this song is about action and consequence, about forgiveness and foolishness. About doing what maybe needs to be done even if it may seem like wasted time. Wait, is that why the song pays tribute to Iron Maiden’s ‘Wasted Years’ in the middle part? Who knows …”
For the powerful, transparent, and wonderfully organic overall sound of their songs, HARKON once again relied on a well-established producer duo: Cornelius Rambadt (Disbelief, Bonded, Sodom, The Very End) handled the recording and mixing, while Dennis Koehne (Lacuna Coil, Caliban, Orden Ogan) took care of the mastering.
The result is an organic, powerful, yet modern sound that perfectly captures the essence of Progressive and Melodic Heavy Metal.
