Southwest Post-Hardcore Metal band BLOSSOMS FALL is back with an uplifting new post-hardcore metal music video entitled “La Alma” which talks about wanting to break self-destructive depressing cycles in life. The music video was directed by Jordan Theobald and it is the third music video taken from their brand new EP album La Alma which was just released on February 6, 2026 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced and mixed by Matthew Torres (Lights on the Coast, Cloudtrails, Wasted Potency) at Nightscape Recordings, and mastered by Kevin Thrasher (Escape the Fate, Machine Gun Kelly, Blink 182, Avril Lavigne) at Thrasher Productions.
“To me, the most challenging aspect of filming this video was playing on top of the vehicles” says lead vocalist Shay Raelynn. “I usually move around quite a bit, so it was difficult to not do so while staying balanced so that I didn’t fall off. The director and crew were easy to work with. They had a good vision for video and had a great eye for shots. Overall, it was a solid day of shooting.” Guitarist Matt Torres adds “This video ended up taking a different direction than the other two. With that said, we decided to make it completely different and felt that a black and white video would encompass the drab mood of the song. This video can be interpreted in multiple ways, a lot of the smashing of the cars can symbolize self-destruction and wanting to break depressive cycles in life. The narrative is mostly open for interpretation.”
La Alma by Blossoms Fall is a blast of beautiful chaos leading us to the edge of the cliff yet giving us wings…to the lip of the abyss armed with a blazing torch and a backbone of granite. Musically, the first thing we might notice is that drums are absolute thunder, produced to be a force in the forefront and earning its position with monster fills even in the verses. The guitar work is heavy with maximum crunch, like a fiery blast from the jaws of the dragon, the bass a “wall of pound” and the vocals cleverly patterned with textured growls and melodic tapestries. We are also given flashes of ethereal keys and tasty syncopation, demonstrating the band’s ability to not only show force but to add a flavor profile unique, devasting, and addictive as hell. As for the lyrics and messaging, we are introduced to enlightening prophesies for the downtrodden who find hope through hardship and familiar feelings of dislocation, isolation, and the realization we do not need masks. La Alma turns us inside out, exposing our tendency to wallow in our addictions, our trauma, obsessions, and guilt, only to finally gain the courage to let loose our souls in the search for our secret and bare inner truths. Artwork for the album and singles was created by Luis Escalara of Adelphia Studios. La Alma by Blossoms Fall was released on February 6, 2026 via Eclipse Records.
