Flowerland, a defining presence in Connecticut’s 1990s alternative music scene, released The Pearmain Recordings on March 15, 2026 via Mindsnap Music.
Originally recorded during the height of the East Coast alternative boom, the nine tracks capture the restless creative energy and emerging sonic experimentation that defined the era. Now newly remixed by renowned producer John Agnello, whose work helped shape the sound of the ’90s underground rock movement, the album captures the raw intensity of Flowerland’s original recordings while fine tuning their unique sound.
Agnello reflects on the experience:
“Get ready for the thrill ride of your life. Flowerland gets in the left lane and hits the gas and off you go! They are masters of musical dynamics—from beautiful, chill vibe music to some of the hardest rock you will ever hear.”
Driven by powerful bass lines and thunderous percussion, Flowerland’s music blends searing guitar work with raw, emotional vocals. During their original run, the band carved out a strong following throughout the East Coast club circuit, performing regularly at iconic venues such as Toad’s Place in New Haven and CBGB in New York City.
The new release comes from guitarist and the band’s remaining member, who sees the project as both a revival and a tribute. The Pearmain Recordings celebrates the music and creative spirit of his three late bandmates whose work continues to resonate today.
“This album brings me back to a time when music meant something more than just a digital service or social media post,” says Opus, owner of Mindsnap Music. “There was a feeling and raw emotion—it was real and it mattered. In a world full of AI, this album is refreshing to hear. This band was ahead of its time and grunge before grunge, in my opinion. When Steve approached me about re-releasing this killer album, it was a no-brainer.”
The Pearmain Recordings is available on all major streaming platforms through Mindsnap Music, distributed by Von Artists, Ltd.

from all over the world and the DIY ethic. Flowerland performed in 56 cities across 12 states. They open up for bands such as Frank Black, Bad Brains, Sam Black Church, Crisis and were filmed by filmmaker Abel Ferrara (King of New York, Bad Lieutenant).
In 2013, renowned record producer John Agnello, responsible for the sounds of the era from his work with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and Screaming Trees, re-mixed The Caffeine Disk EP – 6 classic Flowerland songs recorded in 1992 & 1993.
Almost a decade later, Agnello re-mixed The Pearmain Recordings – a musical achievement for the band originally recorded and released in September 1994.
