MATTEO BRIGO returns with new EP “Sword And Sorcery”, released on March 26, 2026 via Wanikiya Record/Promotion. An epic journey through magic, dungeons, and blazing guitars. After exploring mad laboratories, ‘80s cinematic tributes, and deep space adventures, visionary guitarist and composer Matteo Brigo opens a brand-new, extraordinary chapter in his musical saga.
With “Sword and Sorcery”, Matteo Brigo transports his sonic universe into a completely new realm: an epic fantasy adventure filled with magic, legendary creatures, and heroic quests.
This new EP represents the natural evolution of an artistic journey that began with:
- “It Works!”
- “80’s Movies”
- “Space Pirate”
While previous works saw the protagonist traveling through science, cinema, and space, today he finds himself immersed in a true fantasy campaign, where each track is a scene, each riff a battle, and each melody a spell.
SOUND: BETWEEN SHRED, MELODY AND STORYTELLING
Written, composed, arranged, and produced entirely by Matteo Brigo, the EP maintains the defining elements of his style:
- high-level guitar technique
- strong melodic sense
- direct and engaging impact
The influences recall the great shred tradition (Satriani, Vai, Van Halen), but are reinterpreted through a narrative lens, creating an evocative and cinematic sound perfectly aligned with the fantasy imagery.
THE CONCEPT
A new chapter begins… an epic quest… starring our Scientist, his Botanical Familiar and the Sentient Guitar. What could possibly go wrong? Between dungeons, mythological creatures, and legendary battles, the story expands with new characters and settings, while preserving the ironic and adventurous spirit that defines the entire Brigo project.
SINGLE AND VIDEOCLIP
The EP finds its core in the lead single “Starlight Extinction”, accompanied by a videoclip entirely created by Matteo Brigo himself.
The video is a blend of technique and irony, featuring:
- animations and illustrated backgrounds
- references to comics, cartoons, and pop culture
- the artist’s unmistakable visual style
The drawings are by Oscar Celestini, who also created the album artwork, inspired by his comic work “Leone Bianco”.

MATTEO BRIGO’S WORDS
“I’ve always loved the fantasy world through movies, books, and Dungeons & Dragons. This EP was born from the desire to explore that kind of storytelling: an open-ended story made of quests and great adventures. Each track is a scene, a key moment. Sonically, I tried to find a balance between what I’ve done in the past and new experimentation.”
