HIM‘s Ville Valo has teamed up with Mark Gemini Thwaite for a special cover version of ABBA‘s smash hit ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ on Marks‘ new album “Volumes”, reports teamrock.com. Check out the video:
Abba‘s world-beating hit ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ became part of the pop music lexicon way back in 1977, and now fellow Scandinavian Ville Valo has put his own spin on the classic.
Speaking about the cover, Mark Thwaite says, “The single sleeve and their video had a wintery feel to it, so when we decided to shoot a video for our version, both myself and Ville Valo agreed we should try and capture some of the feel of the Abba version and have a winter vibe to our video as well.
“We shot my footage up in the snow covered mountains and Ville’s close-ups in front of a fire place that is secret place in Helsinki We’re pleased with it and director Ville Jurrikkala did a fantastic job!”
‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ is taken from MGT‘s new album “Volumes”, out in June via SPV/Oblivion.

It is with great sadness that HEVY announces the cancellation of its 2016 festival and has put the event to rest indefinitely.
The organisers comment:
“Hevy Fest is no more.
After 6 years of incredible bands, legendary hangs, and a lot of monkeys – we’re sorry to announce that Hevy Fest is pulling the plug.
Despite the best efforts of our dedicated team, the festival has become financially untenable. Many things have contributed: Port Lympne being unable to continue hosting the event, the increasingly difficult task of putting together a line-up with more and more exclusives enforced each year leading to difficulties confirming our final headliner, and the pressure to offer good value with spiralling costs. The odds are stacked against anyone taking on the challenge, and they have proven too great for us to overcome.
There is a great community of Hardcore, Punk and Metal supporters in the UK and we hope that other small festivals will be able to grow into this space, and to deliver the event we aspired to.
Ticket holders will be automatically refunded. All monies will be returned in the next 10 working days (including booking fees and postage).
As a small independent event, we want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.
Hevy Fest // 2009 – 2015”
With a history of bookings ranging from Andrew W.K. to Meshuggah, not forgetting other huge names including Thrice, Coheed & Cambria, Converge and The Dillinger Escape Plan, HEVY delivered without fail diverse and ambitious line-ups. Having also played host to the Redbull Bedroom Jam stage in the early years, the festival played a key role in supporting rising talent. And let’s not forget the monkeys, rhinos and big cats; HEVY was famed for the animal park, where revellers could escape the chaos to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of nature. A love for animals has always been at the heart of HEVY, which over six years donated in excess of £100,000 to the The Aspinall Foundation animal conservation charity.
HEVY will leave a huge hole in the summer festival agenda, and will be missed by many.
RIP HEVY FEST 2009 – 2015.

Industrial-tinged extreme metal pioneers, FEAR FACTORY, have released a music video for their epic cinematic ballad ‘Expiration Date’, check it out here:
The song comes from the band’s latest masterpiece, “Genexus”, which was released worldwide recently via Nuclear Blast Entertainment in late 2015. The clip was directed by Tommy Jones (SLAYER, TESTAMENT, DEATH ANGEL) for Videohammer Studios.
“Genexus” charted in several countries around the globe, coming in at #13 on the World Top 40 Chart, and once again solidifying the band’s stature as an international force! In addition, “Genexus” has surpassed the band’s last two releases, “Mechanize” (2010) and “The Industrialist” (2012), in terms of first-week sales and chart numbers in the United States.
FEAR FACTORY are currently on a U.S. headlining tour performing their classic second album, “Demanufacture”, in its entirety. “To me this album sounds not one day older today than it did in 1995,” stated guitarist Dino Cazares, “It’s a metal classic for the ages and I’m excited that we are finally going to be able to perform it live in its entirety + songs from Genexus. Play fearlessly.”

“Genexus” was produced by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares, and co-produced by long-time collaborator Rhys Fulber. The album was mixed by famed British producer and engineer, Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD). Artwork was once again handled by artist Anthony Clarkson. Drums on “Genexus” were performed by Mike Heller (MALIGNANCY).
Formed in Los Angeles, California in 1990, FEAR FACTORY changed the world of metal and have become a huge influence on the genre ever since their inception. The band’s unique sound helped bridge the gap between death metal, grindcore, thrash, and industrial on landmark releases like “Soul Of A New Machine”, “Demanufacture”, and the gold-selling release, “Obsolete”.
Is anybody surprised that a town bearing a name like Eisenerz (= iron ore) is home to an absolute metal giant like NAPALM RECORDS? Of course not! Even more baffling though is that the Austrian state of Styria – to which Eisenerz belongs – hasn`t seen a metal-only festival in ages! Luckily Napalm`s live department NAPALM EVENTS has stepped in to awaken all of Southern Austria out of its slumber…
It`s a given that NAPALM RECORDS will go big and international with its their very own METAL ON THE HILL open air festival: ARCH ENEMY, SATYRICON, LACUNA COIL, DEVILDRIVER and MOONSPELL will all play exclusive Austrian shows. Black metal pioneers SATYRICON will play an exclusive “Nemesis Divina” anniversary set! National acts including DRESCHER and TUXEDOO are also part of the bill. And today Napalm Events confirms that MANTAR has now joined this stunning line-up!
Ever since their inception in early 2013, Northern Germany’s two-piece monster, MANTAR, has been recognized as one of the hardest working bands in the extreme metal underground. Melting the most sinister elements of black metal, doom and punk through an unfiltered lens of pure primal rage, MANTAR have quickly proven to be louder and more ferocious than most bands twice their size. Their first full length album “Death By Burning” was released to immense critical acclaim in early 2014 and appeared on numerous year-end best-of lists! 2016 will be an even busier year for the “Gruesome Twosome” as they release their highly anticipated new record “Ode To The Flame” this April.
MANTAR will enthrall with their extremely intense, dynamic live shows and are on par to bring their scorching live assault to Metal On The Hill!
In cooperation with “Spielstätten Graz”, METAL ON THE HILL will have its baptism of fire in 2016 at the picturesque “Schloßberg”. Directly beneath the highest point of Styria`s capital – the plateau of the Schloßberg – lies Graz` most popular open air event location: the Schloßberg stage Kasematten. A stage plus a vast auditorium in the old fortress walls had was erected in the 1930s – an absolute trademark of the city! Especially during summer nights and open air events the place is brimming with darkly romantic atmosphere. A sliding roof protects the audience from any fitful weather.
In addition, the first festival day (attention: limited capacity!) will go down at the “Dom im Berg”
(= mountain cathedral). This venue is definitely Graz` most unique event location! In 1999, this multifunctional spot was carved out of the mountain and opened to the public at the 2000 state fair.
A more than stately and unforgettable backdrop that is fiercely guarded by the festival mascot – the Styrian Panther. Catch a glimpse of the locations here:
12.08.2016 Dom im Berg (DevilDriver, Drescher, Jinjer, Tuxedoo)
13.08.2016 Kasemattenbühne (Arch Enemy, Satyricon, Lacuna Coil, Moonspell, Mantar + 2 more TBC)
