Australian thrash metal band FRAGMENTA havereleased a new single ‘Repository Of Human Ills’. The new single is now available on Bandcamp at this location, both as a digital track and a CD with two bonus tracks.
Fragmenta is an original Industrial Thrash Metal band, formed in Adelaide, South Australia. The band gained national recognition in Australia after featuring on popular currant affairs program Today Tonight, which branded their “dark themes” “a violent assault on the senses“, which featured band leader Duncan Fisher in an investigation into an alleged murder attempt. All charges against Fisher were withdrawn.

English metallers THE DEFILED have announced the end of the band. They stated via their official Facebook page:
“It is with heavy, blackened hearts, that we inform you that the time has come to lay The Defiled to rest. There is no drama or fallouts, but we have been forced to face the reality that the love of what we do is not enough to keep our black ship sailing; the continuation of The Defiled has become logistically (financially) untenable.
Thank you – you, our fans, have given us a life experience that we could have never dreamed of. From a grotty flat in north London, you have enabled us to reach places we’d previously only read or heard about, allowed us to grace stages all over the world, cheered for us at some of the worlds most prestigious festivals and granted us the opportunity to perform alongside some of our heroes. And we are in the Guinness Book Of World Records – WTF??!!
Seeing you singing our words back to us, hearing your stories on how our music has affected you, watching you lose your shit to the heavy bits and seeing the spontaneous outpouring of love when some of you linked arms and made a “circle of love” at our last London show has moved us in ways that are impossible to articulate, but just know; we love you for it.
This means we are forced to cancel our scheduled shows with In This Moment in May as well as the headline shows planned. We hate to let you down a second time in just a few months, but unfortunately this is unavoidable.
We know this is not good enough, and all of us deserve a proper send off for The Defiled. We are currently working out how to record some final songs for you, and if we can do a farewell tour before our Final Sleep. Until then…
Heavy metal titans METAL CHURCH are set to release their new album “XI” on March 25th, via Nuclear Blast Records.

SAVAGE MESSIAH have been booked to appear as main support to TRIVIUM at select shows on the bands current UK tour. Also on the bill are fellow Brits AS LIONS.
SM Front man Dave Silver comments “Trivium are a band that we have tons of respect for, so we were thrilled when asked to open for them. We can promise it’s going to be one hell of a metal show, and the timing couldn’t be any better as it’s right before we hit the studio, so we intend to carry that live energy with us straight into Rockfield!”
Upon completing the run, the band will then immediately enter Rockfield studios in Wales to begin recording their as yet untitled fourth album. This record will see Brian Wheat, founder of multi platinum US band TESLA joining as executive producer, with long time Savage Messiah producer Scott Atkins also on board. The record is scheduled for release later in 2016.
David Gilmour will play two shows in Pompeii this year, a politician has confirmed, according to classicrock.teamrock.com.
The former Pink Floyd leader will return to the historic Italian town 44 years after the band recorded their iconic live movie “Live At Pompeii” in its amphitheatre.
But unlike the 1971 performance, an audience will be present, with a capacity of 2000 on each of two nights.
Italian culture minister Dario Franceschini tweeted last night: “Agreement reached. After 45 years, David Gilmour will play again at Pompeii on 7 and 8 July.”
The Floyd performance came about after director Adrian Maben visited the 2100-year-old structure when it was empty, and decided that its ambience would lend itself to a concert recording. It was also thought that the absence of an audience would offer a counterpoint to live films of the time such as Woodstock and the Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter.
Gilmour is currently touring in support of solo album “Rattle That Lock”, released last year. He plays in the US and Canada over the coming weeks then returns to Europe in June, with four nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall in September.
