Texan rock ‘n’ rollers ROCKETT QUEEN are the midst of their US Tour in support of Scott Stapp. So far, the show’s have all been sold out and the crowd response for the band has been overwhelming. Scott Stapp, his band, management and road crew have been absolutely terrific and unbelievably supportive of Rockett Queen.
On the way to the show in New York, the transmission went out on their touring van. The repair costs are $3,300 and it will take two days to complete. Rockett Queen needs help to pay for van repairs and to complete this great US Tour. The band state:
“Any help that you can provide will be used to stay out on this major tour and is greatly appreciated. We don’t want the ride to end and we are thankful to all of you for the support“.

BELPHEGOR have begun their first rehearsal sessions for their new album last Tuesday in Abtenau, Salzburg, Austria.
Mainman Helmuth comments: “Magnificent nature covered in snow that has arrived in the mountains with -11 degrees [12 ºF] here and we’re freezing our asses off. Just perfect for creating brutal sound collages. With this currently untitled album we will try to develop and bring everything to a new level, since I have the feeling this is the strongest recording line-up we’ve ever had. Regards to blood brother Barth Resch for the photo shoot.”
Check out this exclusive clip of BELPHEGOR playing ‘Totenkult – Exegesis Of Deterioration’ recorded live inside their “rehearsal bunker”. This scorching death/black metal track will be included on the upcoming album scheduled for a late 2016, early 2017 release.
BELPHEGOR‘s new project will take place two-and-a-half years after the highly-acclaimed “Conjuring The Dead” album, which was released via Nuclear Blast records in August 2014!

THIN LIZZY have announced some forthcoming Anniversary Shows for 2016 / 2017 via their official Facebook page. The band stated:
BREAKING NEWS!
40 Years Since Jailbreak Album Release
30 Years Since Phil Lynott’s Passing
SCOTT GORHAM – GUITAR DAMON JOHNSON – GUITAR RICKY WARWICK – LEAD VOCALS / GUITAR DARREN WHARTON – KEYBOARDS MIKKEY DEE – DRUMS
2016 is a year that includes a couple of important anniversaries in the history of Thin Lizzy. On March 26th, 1976, Thin Lizzy released the iconic “Jailbreak” album to the world. featuring such classic rock staples as “The Boys Are Back In Town” and the title track, “Jailbreak” and it become one of the most important albums of that era. Now we are 40 years on since the release of that milestone and it is time to celebrate it.
2016 also see’s 30 years since Phil Lynott passed away (January 4th, 1986) and the world lost a rock legend. But his legacy lives on and celebrating that legacy is what is in store. In the summer of 2016 going into 2017, Thin Lizzy will stage a handful of special shows to commemorate these important milestones.
The Thin Lizzy lineup is vocalist Ricky Warwick, guitarists Scott Gorham and Damon Johnson, and Darren Wharton on keyboards. As special guest, we have seasoned drummer Mikkey Dee from Motorhead.
Scott Gorham: “With Black Star Riders taking some time off the road to work on their third album , I thought it would be really cool to do some Thin Lizzy shows as it’s an anniversary year, to have some fun and to re-live the good old days. We will only do half a dozen or so dates to keep them special. For personal reasons Brian Downey won’t be with us but we have the incredible Mikkey Dee on the drum stool, which we are all very excited about. We will announce who is on bass shortly”
Mikkey Dee: “It’s an honor to be asked to play with Thin Lizzy on these dates, being a life long fan I am so happy and excited to playing with the band on these shows. It’s going to be great!”
GRAMMY-nominated blues-rock guitar icon Joe Bonamassa announces today his brand-new studio solo album, “Blues Of Desperation” (Provogue), will be released March 25th, 2016. Like his previous solo disc, 2014’s Top 10 Billboard hit “Different Shades of Blue”, the new album features all-original material, and it sees the maverick superstar guitarist, singer and songwriter tossing away the rule book as he continues to reinvent and redefine the blues-rock genre like no other artist working today.
“I want people to hear my evolution as a blues-rock musician,” says Bonamassa, “somebody who isn’t resting on accomplishments and who is always pushing forward and thinking about how music can evolve and stay relevant.”
The writing sessions for “Blues Of Desperation” took Bonamassa back to Nashville, where he’d composed “Different Shades of Blue”, to work with some of Music City’s top tunesmiths, people like James House, Tom Hambridge, Jeffrey Steele, Jerry Flowers and Gary Nicholson. “These are some of the best guys in the business,” Bonamassa raves. “Lyrically, you’ll hear the proverbial trains, mountains, valleys and other blues references about heartbreak and loneliness, but there are also some poignant moments about getting away from the stressful, crazy demands of life and losing yourself with your special someone. I think anybody will be able to relate.”
Bonamassa and his long-time producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Journey) convened at Nashville’s Grand Victor Sound Studios (formerly known as RCA Studio A), and during an intense, five-day period they recorded 11 galvanizing songs with a crack group of musicians including drummers Anton Fig and Greg Morrow, bassist Michael Rhodes, keyboardist Reese Wynans, horn players Lee Thornburg, Paulie Cerra and Mark Douthit, and background singers Mahalia Barnes, Jade McRae and Juanita Tippins.
Frontiers Music SRL’s Mario de Riso has taken steps to stop the ever increasing practice of leaking albums before their release. He stated via the record label’s official Facebook page:
“I think very little – in 2016 – is more disappointing for a record label than seeing an album leak before it’s official release date.
Let’s admit it….nowadays the marketing strategies employed by most labels allows fans to download and stream a substantial amount of music prior to the release of a new album. Fans get multiple tracks when they pre-order an album digitally or can even go stream them on a service like Spotify or YouTube, without paying any money. So, truly, it is difficult to understand, even from a fan’s perspective (and I am a music fan first and foremost), why there is such a need to try and find and download music illegally on piracy sites and blogs which has not yet been officially released.
Moreover, you need to keep in mind that these “pirates” are actually making money off of other’s backs here. While you download for free, probably thinking you are smart because you are saving your own money, you are doing two harmful things. First: you are taking away the compensation due to the artist and the record label who have spent significant time and financial efforts to make that music available for you (but, probably you could care less about that). Second: you allow the very people that put the music out for free to make themselves REAL money by selling advertisements on their sites and blogs. Some of these “pirates” are so persistent with their uploading of illegal materials, that you have to assume that this must be their full time job, especially considering the amount of time that it is needed to rip and re-upload full albums on the web, when their own sites/blogs get shut down by the providers after takedown notices. And all this goes on when there are popular, easy to use, LEGAL streaming services like Spotify, Deezer, YouTube, etc. available that give everyone the easy convenience to stream music while paying very little or even nothing at all for the privilege.
I really would love if everyone could understand and agree that the promotional needs of a label are such that we can no longer constantly face the risk of having an album leaked prior to the release. Considering that systems such as watermarked MP3 downloads and watermarked CDs do not prevent these leaks from happening all the time, it is no surprise to see that many labels decide to postpone releasing priority releases to journalists until the day of the release. We will now be one of those labels as we feel we must take a serious and strong stand against these leaks. Further, we will not be allowing any more promotional downloads of our albums, regardless if it is watermarked or not. It is just not right, nor respectful to everyone’s valuable time, hard work and efforts to keep going like this, so we have to ask for everyone’s respect, cooperation and understanding here. Unfortunately, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch and now this is what happens.
It is 2016 and journalists – who use their “ink” all the time to push for progress and technology – surely can understand that the world is moving forward and abuses of technology to work against the creative process are something we can’t facilitate.
Pardon the rant and keep on enjoying the music – BOYCOTT pirate sites and blogs!
