Blackened death metal paragons PARACRONA are thrilled to announce the release of their mesmerizing new lyric video for “River of Pain,” the second single from their critically acclaimed album, “Sun God.”
Dive into the haunting and intense world of Paracrona with their latest release, “River of Pain.” This official lyric video takes you on a dark journey through the emotional depths and hidden secrets that plague our minds. The lyrics vividly depict fear, corruption, and the struggle to break free from an endless cycle of suffering.
In this gripping song, Paracrona explores themes of pain, fear, and the eerie presence of evil, reflecting on the sinister underbelly of fame and the twilight zone of endangered species. The haunting visuals in the video symbolize the hidden secrets of Hollywood, adding a layer of mystery and intrigue to the powerful lyrics.
Join PARACRONA on an evocative voyage with “Sun God”: an album that unearths the mysterious tapestry of ancient Egypt while drawing unsettling parallels with today’s world. Infused with the mystique of forgotten civilizations, “Sun God” transports listeners to a sonic landscape where echoes of the past reverberate through powerful, modern metal.
PARACRONA, born from the chance meeting of Ringo Christiaan Van Droffelaar and Øystein Hansen at Wacken Open Air in 2007, melds artistic vision with melodic intensity. Hailing from the Netherlands and Norway, these diverse talents, bonded by a love for metal music, embarked on a musical journey that redefined their artistry.
Their collaboration ignited in Oslo a few months later, intertwined Øystein’s seasoned guitar expertise, honed in bands like Fortid, with Ringo’s fervor for expression and songwriting finesse. The recording odyssey for “Sun God” began in the fall of 2016, resulting in a sonic exploration traversing metal styles, termed affectionately as “Titanium” or “Quantum Realism Metal.”
Themes of spiritual growth and societal struggle infuse their lyrics, encapsulating real-life chapters within each track. Despite hurdles, including Ringo’s battle with cancer in 2021, collaborations with professionals like Baard Kolstad and Fredrik Nordstrøm added finesse to their sound.
Live performances feature a talented roster, enhancing the experience. PARACRONA’s album release concert at Cosmopolite Scene in Oslo, featuring Blood Red Throne and Omnia Moritur, epitomized dedication to an unforgettable scene experience.
PARACRONA transcends being just a band; it’s a collective embodiment of resilience, passion, and artistic innovation. Join their journey, witness their sonic tapestry, and immerse yourself in the power of their music.

As the celestial dance between light and darkness continues, VIPASSI beckons their audience to witness a moment of absolute clairvoyance. Today, we proudly unveil the full band playthrough for Phainesthai, a keystone of the transcendent album Lightless, which was released on January 26th.
Building upon the void-like brilliance of their debut, Śūnyatā, VIPASSI’s Lightless transcends the ephemeral boundaries of instrumental progressive metal. This sophomore offering delves into the eternal themes of light casting shadows, and the band’s unparalleled musicianship evokes a symphony of intricate emotions.
Crafted within the walls of Bushido Studios in Melbourne and refined by the adept hands of sound engineer Troy Mccosker and mixing maestro Mark Lewis, Lightless is more than an album—it’s an invitation to a celestial labyrinth. VIPASSI‘s refined artistry and technical prowess breathe life into a world where the listener navigates the labyrinthine hex of their own subconscious.
The intricate patterns of Presland’s drumming intertwine with the eclectic guitar movements of Ben Boyle and Benjamin Baret, and the fretless bass tones of Arran McSporran, crafting a dynamic and ever-evolving aural landscape. This playthrough is not merely a display of skill but a portal to the realms where light and dark engage in eternal dichotomy.
Watch the playthrough now on the Season of Mist YouTube channel:
As well as being instrumental masters, VIPASSI have also crafted intricate narratives on their first single Phainesthai with a video shot, directed and edited by Jack Fontes. Watch it here.
In Buddhist tradition, VIPASSI is the twenty-second of the twenty-eight Buddhas. Etymologically, the name has its roots in clear vision – a being of extreme contemplation. The band of the same name is a world-spnning instrumental extreme metal band from the lands of Australia, France and the UK.
With members of acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Black Lava, Hadal Maw & Virvum, their work on the 2017 debut album ‘Sunyata’, which has a loose signification of Emptiness or Void, set the grounds for a technically impressive and fully instrumental exploration of sonic textures in what can best be described as – a divine experience reaching the depths of the human soul.
Originally made as a project between Daniel Presland (Drums) and Ben Boyle (Guitars) as far back as 2007 to explore new concepts and sounds not currently engaged by their projects at the time, the band has since then grown and expanded to an international connection of like-minded musicians and virtuosos with Arran McSporran (Fretless Bass) and Benjamin Baret (Guitars).
Further exploring their labyrinthine textures and layers of sounds, the band VIPASSI is back with their sophomore album ‘Lightless’. The album shifts from the realm of the void towards a clash of light and dark – and sees the band expanding into even more technical and experimental realms, pushing the limits of their own ideas and abilities to heights unimagined when the band began all those years ago.

“Lost and Broken” is a fierce, heavy, and thrashing anthem that showcases Beyond Unbroken‘s versatility and creative prowess. Including an outro that was inspired by Hans Zimmer’s work on Interstellar, the band explains, “We wanted to evoke an ominous, impending doom, giving the listener an eerie, unsettling feeling of the unknown.” The single is a small taste of what’s to come on their upcoming album Destruction, releasing in November.
This track is a tour de force that melds the intense energy of metalcore, the raw power of hard rock, the heaviness of traditional heavy metal, and the experimental edge of alternative metal, all while infusing influences from cyberpunk, thrall, and doom metal. “Lately, we’ve been having a lot of fun in the studio incorporating all sorts of cool synthesizers into our new music,” Beyond Unbroken continues. “This shapes and enhances our overall sound and appeal, especially in “Lost and Broken.” The song incorporates these elements from top to bottom, enhancing its originality without disrupting it. That’s what we love most about production—making crazy sounds that elevate the music.”
A high-octane journey through layers of aggressive guitar work, pounding drums, and powerful vocals, “Lost and Broken” is a testament to the band’s ability to blend genres seamlessly, creating a unique sound that is both brutal and captivating.
In a world of boundaries Beyond Unbroken refuses to be defined by one genre. Founded by former Escape The Fate members, brothers Monte and Michael Money, the band habitually crosses the lines, mixing genres the way an artist mixes paint with results that often defy expectation. They released their first single “Under Your Skin” in 2015 and debuted their first independent EP Don’t Wake The Dead in 2017 with producer Matt Good of From First To Last. The EP was well received with the animated video “Overdose” earning millions of views upon release. Their first debut album, Running Out of Time, followed in 2020 with singles earning millions of streams and premiering on Alt Press.
On April 29, 2020, the band covered Lil Peep and Twenty One Pilots mashup, “Falling Down + Heathens” and it remains the band’s most streamed track to this day. In 2021 the band released a one-off single “With Or Without Me” on the FiXT Radium Compilation which eventually led to the band signing with the label in 2023.

For the headbangers, there’s plenty to enjoy in heavy rockers like “Sundance”, “We Will Survive”, and the strongest of the bunch, “Back with a Vengeance”, which shines with its uptempo drive and shrill Brian Johnson-esque vocals. – Defenders of the Faith
If you tend to enjoy hard rock and a little bit of metal in general, and hard rock explored with an orientation towards progressive rock ideals and ethos in particular, then this is an album that will be of interest. Chris Slade recently spoke with BraveWords.com about recording a album, “Well, I’m a bit old-fashioned I’m afraid,” he admits. “It’s probably down to my age, but I’m of that generation that an album is the culmination of a previous time in the business. And this album has been that. It has two CDs as you know, one full of originals and the other features covers of all sorts of things that I’ve played on. So it’s a good mixture and it’s also the way that we do our shows. But the original album is very diverse. There’s some heavy rock in there, some prog and there’s actually a ballad. And I’m afraid that’s my taste. I can’t apologize for it because that is what I wanted to do. It wasn’t intentional, those were just the strongest songs that came out of our writing. But the guys were an enormous help, because I don’t play a chordal instrument or any instruments apart from the drums. I can hum pretty good though!”

Chris Slade launched the band ‘THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE’ in 2012 to mark 50+ years as a professional rock drummer. For this project, Slade took on phenomenal vocalists STEVE GLASSCOCK and PAUL “BUN” DAVIS with the added stunning musical techniques of guitarist JAMES CORNFORD along with keyboard and guitar player MICHAEL J. CLARK you most certainly have a band to be reckoned with and worthy to mark Slade’s illustrious musical career.
This is a concept for Slade that will include performances from a varied set list from Tom Jones, Manfred Mann’s Earthband, Uriah Heep, The Firm, ASIA, MSG, David Gilmour, Gary Moore along with a fair degree of AC/DC numbers and many surprises to be unwrapped along the way.
“After all these years recording and playing with some of the world’s greatest rock musicians such as Tom Jones, Manfred Mann’s Earthband, Gary Moore, Gary Numan, Denny Laine, Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, David Gilmour, Uriah Heep, Asia and of course AC/DC
About Chris Slade:
Slade started his career at the age of 16 with Tom Jones before he changed his name to Tom Jones, this included World tours and recording throughout the 60’s.
Chris Slade was a founding member of ‘Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’ in January of 1971. He was to spend seven years with the band, recording eight albums and achieving three UK Top Ten singles in the process: ‘Joybringer’ (No. 9, October 1973), ‘Blinded By The Light’ (No. 6, September 1976 & a multi million selling #1 in the USA) and ‘Davy’s On The Road Again’ (No.6, June 1978). After ‘Earthband’ he spent 2 years with ‘Uriah Heep.’ A Year with Gary Numan and a year with David Gilmour in 1984.
He later teamed up with Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers and bassist Tony Franklin to form ‘The Firm’. They produced two excellent albums for Atlantic in 1985 and 1986 that gave them a few radio hits including ‘Radioactive’ and ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed.’
Then Chris joined Gary Moore, taking over from Cozy Powell just four days before the start of the 1989 ‘After The War’ tour. It was at one of Gary Moore’s gigs in The UK that Malcolm Young saw Chris Slade play. After the tour it was Chris’s intention to put together a band with ex-Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay. But the call from AC/DC scuppered those plans as he was destined to tour and record with them over the course of the next five years, playing on their acclaimed ‘Razors Edge’ Album, and giving a killer performance on their concert DVD “Live from Donington”.
After his stint with AC/DC Chris joined the prog-rock band ‘Asia’, who (even with the many personnel changes over the years) had still been managing to churn out some excellent music. Chris recorded with them on their 2000-2004 studio recordings, ‘Aura’ and ‘Silent Nation’ , and put forth his ‘trademark’ energy-filled live performances on all the subsequent tours that ensued over five years in total.
In the 21st Century, for a period of 5 years, Slade played drums for German guitarist Michael Schenker before forming THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE in 2012.
Finnish melodic hard rock / AOR band Wake The Nations released the third and last single ‘Seven’ from their upcoming third studio album Heartageddon which will be released on September 13th 2024 via Inverse Records. A music video is also done and it can be seen below.
The bandcomments: “Relatively straight forward rock pulse! Text originates from Gekko’s trip into hospital where he was having a surgery. Nobody knows whether they removed or added something on him but what we do know is that all good surgeries start with sedatives. So, these lyrics were partly written intoxicated. Nevertheless, our singer Krister absolutely loves the song and especially singing these crooked lyrics. Nice carpet you have, can I take a ride? Of course you can, everybody´s invited to this rock party!”
