MOTHER MISERY is a Swedish band that plays a special, individual mix of edgy Hard’n’heavy Rock and Melodic Metal. They also give their music a certain Nordic charm – as only they can. The musicians have thus created their very own genre: SUPERSONIC ROCK!
On December 15th, album number five, “From Shadow To Ghost”, has been released via Doc Gator Records, this time exclusively on vinyl, available in three different colors.
MOTHER MISERY say about their longplayer: “‘From Shadow To Ghost‘ is not only our fifth studio album, but also our most progressive work to date. We continue to serve up our strong melodies, the usual heavy riffs, a bombastic bass and our powerful drums. All this combined with a fat, wide and tight mix and master makes ‘From Shadow To Ghost‘ a release that every heavy and hard rocker should have on their radar.”

Norwegian desert rockers SLOMOSA have finally revealed new details about their forthcoming, sophomore studio album! Slated for release on September 13, 2024 via Stickman Records, “Tundra Rock” will see the Bergen-based four-piece double down on all expectations!
The album pre-sale has just started atTHIS LOCATION.
Following previously-released, much acclaimed album tracks, “Cabin Fever” and “Rice”, SLOMOSA have just premiered a music video for their new single “Battling Guns”, a stoner rock track featuring gritty riffs and powerful vocals! Says vocalist and guitarist Benjamin Berdous:
“This song shows a grungier side to our songwriting, as we wanted to add something new to our catalog. As history repeats itself, their triumphs are cheap and their followers are sheep. The song symbolizes the disbelief and anger at this development.”
SLOMOSA were formed in Bergen in 2017. Driven by their passion for catchy songwriting and groovy riffs, the band has embarked on a unique journey that blends stoner rock, grunge and hardcore into their signature blend, dubbed “tundra rock”; a northern twist on California desert rock.
Since their sudden appearance on the scene with the self-titled debut album in 2020, SLOMOSA have hit the ground running with frenetically-acclaimed festival appearances and relentless tours with more than 130 shows in twenty countries alongside bands such as Orange Goblin, Elder, King Buffalo, Sasquatch or Stöner. Their explosive live performances have earned them an enthusiastic fanbase, both nationally and internationally. SLOMOSA‘s music has even captured the attention of rock greats like Tool guitarist Adam Jones, who recently shared his enthusiasm for the band on his social media, or Kyuss legends Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri, who have expressed their love for SLOMOSA‘s sound and riffs. With a steadily growing fanbase from all over the world, more than 10.000,000 Spotify streams alone, a busy touring schedule featuring recent shows with heavy weights Fu Manchu in Oslo or UK dates with Alkaline Trio, an upcoming European run with GREENLEAF and their first-ever live appearance in the States supporting ALKALINE TRIO, the future is definitely bright for the band between the seven mountains. Find all upcoming live shows listed below!
On top of continuous touring, SLOMOSA has been channeling all their creative energy into their second, hotly-anticpated studio offering “Tundra Rock”, scheduled for a September release on Stickman Records. The nine album tracks were produced by Eirik Marinius Sandvik at Polyfon Studio and Marinius Studio, and were mastered by Jørgen Træen. The cover artwork was created by Elsa Enestig.
SWEET will release the new studio album “Full Circle” on Sep 20th on Metalville Records. “Full Circle” also will be the band’s last regular studio album ever.
SWEET are a Rock Music Phenomena that has taken the world by storm for more then five decades. Over the years SWEET sold more then 55 million records and earned 34 #1 chart positions world wide. The Golden Thread that links the past through to the present and into the future is SWEET founding member Andy Scott with all his determination to maintain high standards with the band’s musical legacy, recording, and touring. The band today has still an illustrious pedigree recreating “live” the high energy and soaring vocals associated with the Sweet sound that is the band’s trade mark.
SWEET began writing songs for the “Full Circle” album in 2019 pre-pandemic. The project was shelved and the band released “Isolation Boulevard” instead. This involved remote recording sessions which put a new spin on the material. The album was well received and a single “Set Me Free” appeared in many Heritage Rock Charts.
With the Covid period of isolation behind us SWEET started the sessions for “Full Circle” in earnest. The band’s touring schedule split the sessions but by the spring of 2024, the recordings were done. The band’s performance is outstanding and Producers Andy and Tom are very proud of the result.

Get ready for a wave of melodic symphonic metal with a modern twist! Rising US stars THE LUCIDIA PROJECT have signed a record deal with Wormholedeath Records for their EP, “Requiem,” set for release on September 6th, 2024.
The Lucidia Project statement:
Hello, we are The Lucidia Project. We are a band from Fargo North Dakota (The northern part of the midwestern United States) and to say that we are shocked and grateful for this opportunity to sign with WormHoleDeath Records would be an understatement. Jacopo, who is with the A and R at WormHoleDeath actually reached out to us. He gave us some contact info and I (Chase) reached out to Carlo regarding our music. We honestly were not expecting anything to come of it because we are so new at this as a band, and we have such a small discography right now, that the idea that a record label, let alone one that would have all the connections that this one has, would want work with us was a pipe dream. But here we are, Carlo reached back out to us with a lovely email regarding our Requiem EP, and wanted to sign us for it right away. I needed to think about it, we as a band needed to do our due diligence and research on what this partnership means, and I needed to have discussions with the rest of the band on how we move forward. We decided that this partnership would be a good career move for us, for our EP, and for any future music that WormHoleDeath wishes to sign. In regards to our sound, we are a fusion project. We are trying to create a modernized version of Symphonic metal that blends Alternative rock/metal, Doom metal, elements of gothic and death metal, as well as piano-driven pop music. With The Requiem EP, we tried to blend all these influences in a coherent way, and in future releases, we will be trying to perfect this even more.
In regards to the Requiem EP, we were originally going to release Requiem as a standalone single, but shortly after Requiem was created …the End of the Lies was written very quickly, in about 30 minutes we had almost the entire song. Those two songs are related and detail a very toxic friendship/relationship I (Chase) was dealing with. Requiem almost has an element of spirituality to it because I needed to lean on my higher power to get me through that situation, and the end of the lies, is where I finally processed all my anger around that situation. Once those two songs were established, it was decided that we would make our first professionally mixed EP. We wrote two more songs, Eventide and Deliverance for this EP, and wanted to bring in the atmospheric and symphonic elements to our sound with those two songs. Eventide is a song that I had in my back pocket for almost a decade, but I just never got around to finishing it, I brought it to Ben and the two of us hashed out the final structure and chord progressions. It’s about one’s susceptibility to propaganda, and how easy it is for humanity to turn on each other. I wanted to explore this broader psychological topic and make it this epic-sounding metal song. Deliverance is about grieving. I lost my aunt to suicide in 2016, and I never fully processed it. This song is my way of doing that. Ben helped write the structures and lead guitar lines on all the songs. Chris helped with writing rhythm guitars on requiem as well as coming up with that spoken word idea at the end of the song. We feel like this EP gave us our foundation sound-wise as we were exploring how to combine symphonic metal with alternative rock, dark metal genres, and piano-driven songwriting.

The Lucidia Project’s lineup is currently comprised of Chase Baldwin (vocals/pianos/arrangements) Benjamin Jacobs (bass/guitars) Daniel Williams (guitars) Chris (David) Polasky (guitars) Bruce Reisenauer (drums)
Southampton metalcore juggernaut Our Hollow, Our Home have released their newest single ‘Burial Season’, another glimpse of their upcoming album – their last – Hope & Hell (27th September, Arising Empire).
Their single showcases their signature mix of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged lyrics. Known for their energetic performances and powerful sound, this track promises to be a standout in their discography.
Alongside the single, the band has launched pre-orders for their final album, available as CD and limited coloured vinyl. ‘Burial Season’ is now available on all major streaming platforms, offering a glimpse of the band’s enduring dedication to their music.
The level of relatability, coupled with their relentless touring with the likes of A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandria and Blessthefall and high profile slots at festivals like Graspop, Nova Rock, Summerblast and Jera On Air, has seen the band command an ever growing army of highly dedicated followers; they have over 115,000 monthlies and 50M streams on Spotify, have been viewed over 9 million times on Youtube and have over 29,000 Instagram followers and 107,000 on Facebook and 2017’s debut album Hartsick reached the top spot of the Itunes chart for rock and metal in the UK, as well as placing in the top ten in the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy and Germany.
They were also boosted by their hugely popular cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ in 2017, which was picked up by BBC Radio One’s Greg James and subsequently topped the iTunes UK rock and metal chart, and racked up over 300,000 plays on YouTube on its first week of release.
For a band who have handled their own operations internally without the help of major label or industry backing till today, that is a mightily impressive number, and testament to the devotion Our Hollow, Our Home have to their craft. But it’s more than just the numbers that are impressive, it’s the way in which those people have connected with the band. Be it their lyrical content, their staunchly DIY approach, their high energy live shows or their down to earth attitude, Our Hollow, Our Home have connected with their audience in a way that cannot be forced or faked.

Flood, war, earthquake, fire, a long winter – this is not yesterday’s news, but a legend from the medieval Völuspá: Ragnarök, the end of the world in Norse mythology. An oft-sung theme in various metal genres – and yet the German band SURTALOG, founded in 2016, manages to elicit some frighteningly topical aspects from the ancient legend on their debut “Ragnarök – Schicksal der Götter, Tod der Menschen und Ende der Welten“ (Ragnarök – Fate of Gods, Death of Men and End of Worlds), both musically and lyrically.
Anyone expecting danceable pagan metal will raise their eyebrows in surprise when they hear this mammoth work. On their first album, the quartet under the creative leadership of guitarist and singer Surtuz manages to interweave a multitude of influences and styles so skillfully that a homogeneous, varied and sophisticated concept album could emerge. On the foundation of melodic, storming black metal in the style of WINDIR or EMPEROR, the band builds complex song structures that are sometimes reminiscent of DREAM THEATER or OPETH in their progressiveness. Fragile passages carried by acoustic guitars or epic choral interludes have also found their place on “Ragnarök” and thus contribute to reflecting the multifaceted nature of the subject matter.
And that is present beyond the “Fate of Gods“: in a time of conflict, omnipresent hatred, envy and resentment, SURTALOG set the thousand-year-old text to music as the well-deserved downfall not only of the gods, but also of humanity, the “doom of this world”. Only their disappearance from the face of the earth makes a new beginning possible for a world that, in a perpetual cycle, does not seem to learn from its mistakes. This makes “Ragnarök” not only an entertaining and multi-layered metal album. But after 75 minutes of playing time, the last fragile acoustic sounds leave listeners pensive, doubtful… but cautiously optimistic.
It´s a concept album about the end of the world in Norse Mythology. Of its ten songs, the prologue and the five acts are black metal songs, incorporating progressive and other influences. The other four songs are non-metal with acoustic guitars, choirs, female and spoken vocals, loosening up the album.
Music for album was recorded, mixed and mastered from 2022 to 2023 at Nightside Audio (Troll, Eis, Minas Morgul) by Florian Dammasch. Band logo and album cover artwork was done by Timon Kokott (Pantokrator, Horn (DE), Illdisposed)
Debut album “Ragnarök – Schicksal der Götter, Tod der Menschen und Ende der Welten” (eng. “Ragnarök – Fate of Gods, Death of Men and End of Worlds”) will out August 28, 2024. Pre-order is available at Bandcamp
