CRIMSON VEIL continue to captivate the music community with their unique take on alternative metal, releasing their new music video ‘Shift’ today. This single is likely the catchiest tune from “Hex,” the debut album of the UK-based band, set to take the world by storm on September 20, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). ‘Shift’ is a dark and catchy song that will appeal to any rock or metal fan. The music builds gradually incorporating Eastern scales into a bass groove, drawing listeners deeper into Mishkin‘s spell. The lyrics serve as a chilling warning to those who might cross her path, with lines like, “I’ll be the secret that talks…I’ll be the hammer that falls.” The song culminates in a MESHUGGAH-esque riff in 15/8, which, despite its complexity, is surprisingly easy to headbang to. The final chorus and end riff deliver powerfully, making the track both intense and enjoyable.

RIVERS OF NIHIL has never fit neatly into a box, but with 2018’s Where Owls Know My Name, they transcended all labels applied to them. Returning in 2021 with The Work, they forged further into new territory, delivering an album that was as cerebral as it was visceral, and that covers a staggering sonic range, definitively placing them in a category of their own.
With the first track penned in the fall of 2018, while the band were touring on …Owls…, the writing process for The Work was long, lasting well into 2020. Even before the music industry shutdown that happened concurrently with the Covid pandemic, the band intended to take most of 2020 off to focus on writing, meaning that their schedule was not disrupted. Guitarist Brody Uttley describes the final product as a “Sound World,” a term coined by a friend. “It’s an album that almost sounds like a place rather than a thing. It puts you in this world where you’re not exactly sure what is going on at certain points, but eventually, it all comes together. It’s harsh and cold, but also warm and inviting,” he adds.

Historical Italian power metallers DRAKKAR have announced that drummer Daniele Ferru will once again work with the band on a new record before leaving the legendary Viking ship to pursue other musical projects. The decision was made on absolutely amicable terms, and the remaining members want to thank and wish their friend Daniele all the best, as his presence over the past seven years has been absolutely essential.
This will not cause any slowdown in the band’s projects, as they are ready to welcome back Paolo Pirola from IN.SI.DIA as the live drummer, a role he previously held before Daniele joined.

The song is a cover version of the Greek band Mple’s original version first released back in 1996. The track is entitled ‘Fovamai’ and features Maxi Nil from the band Jaded Star on guest vocals, it’s available on all digital platforms as of today the 19th of July 2024. The video will premiere on Mortemia’s official youtube channel ( Mortemia – YouTube ) at 18:00 hours CET.
“I’m proud and honoured to welcome Maxi Nil Official from Jaded Star as my special guest for ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’. The song that we have done together is a cover version of the Greek band Mple (Μπλε) and the song is entitled “Fovamai” “Φοβάμαι”. Me and Maxi already talked about doing a collab together for some time, so I always had her in mind whenever recording new songs for Mortemia. In February this year I was in Greece to play a show in Athens with Sirenia. I was taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel, and on the radio this song came on. I instantly loved it and noted the name of the band and the song. I also knew right away that this song would fit perfectly for Maxi, and since the song is in Greek too, it could not be more perfect. I was thrilled to find out that Maxi also was a huge fan of this song, and shortly after we completed the recordings. I am so happy with how the song turned out, Maxi did an amazing performance that fitted the song perfectly. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Maxi on board this project, and I am really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. The song will be available on all digital platforms on the 19th of July 2024. “I got to know Morten and Sirenia back in my days with Visions Of Atlantis. We shared the stage of many festivals and I’ve always liked his creative songwriting and musical expression. A few years back we started talking about a possible collaboration and now I know that it took so long for a reason! When he reached out and asked me to sing the Greek song “Fovamai” “Φοβάμαι” ,which means ” I’m afraid”, I was thrilled!This song first came out in 1996 by the band Ble (Μπλε) and quickly became extremely popular and touched countless of people. This collaboration with Morten came in a turning point of my life and singing those words with all my heart and soul worked as the perfect remedy for me.The timing couldn’ t be more perfect! I hope you get to feel the vibes even if you don’t speak Greek and enjoy our new approach to this beautiful song”!
After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland activated his solo project Mortemia during the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic, this time with a brand new concept consisting of collaborations with multiple guest singers. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ was a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene.
