Established in 2018, FILTHY HIPPIES, a South African Alternative trio with a strong Shoegaze influence, have become notable contenders in the burgeoning South African psych scene. Their reputation has been solidified by supporting Post-punk band Dangerfield’s album launch and their performance at the 2019 Endless Daze Festival. Filthy Hippies create a distinctive sound, described as a Phil Spector-esque wall of sound fused with deep-rooted pop inflections. After undergoing personnel changes over the last year or two, the band has re-emerged as a five-piece and is excited to announce their new album, ‘Share The Pill.’
‘The album was born out of a period of uncertainty and change for the band. The new lineup and the challenges they faced inspired them to create an album that emphasizes the importance of valuing time, exploring, questioning, savouring moments, and dreaming. The songs were primarily written during late-night sessions filled with frustration, reflecting the band’s journey back to the stage. The recording process was a blend of home studio sessions and collaborations with Ruan Vos at Sonic Nursery and Floris Le Roux. Described as “a colourful trip through melancholy,” ‘Share The Pill’ promises to deliver a rich and immersive listening experience.
The international Melodic Heavy (Power) Metal act TIMELESS FAIRYTALE has just dropped their brand new track “New Dawn”, which is the first single from the band’s upcoming debut full-length “A Story to Tell”. The album is set to be released on September 13 via ViciSolum Productions and the single is now available on all major digital platforms.
TIMELESS FAIRYTALE‘s guitarist and songwriter Luca Sellitto about the single: “I believe that ‘New Dawn’ is a perfect choice as a first single, cause it has all the core elements of our sound: a very melodic and memorable vocal line; a great riff, which has the potential to catch the listener’s attention from the very first few notes; an energetic drums/bass work, based on a standard power metal ‘sixtheenth-note’ groove, but with the right dose of variation; a shredding guitar solo, very classically influenced; symphonic strings arrangements and majestic backing vocals layers.
Just for the curious: I wrote the song around a very old riff that I came up with back in 1999 or 2000 and remained unused for over twenty years, but I’ve finally managed to put it in the right context and, surprisingly, it still sounds fresh and driving. I hope that all the listeners will appreciate the ‘passion and fire’ that we put into this song and get fired up by it!”

TIMELESS FAIRYTALE is founded by Danish singer Henrik Brockmann (original frontman of Royal Hunt and Evil Masquerade) and Italian guitarist/songwriter Luca Sellitto, from the band Stamina and session guitarist for Ian Parry’s Rock Emporium. The mighty lineup is completed by a killer rhythm section, consisting of Stamina’s bass player Carmine Vivo and Swedish drummer Viktor Enebjörn, from the bands Forever Still and Darknd. TIMELESS FAIRYTALE’s style is the result of a tasty combination of neoclassical/power metal, symphonic metal and classic rock.This band can be considered a “dream come true” for all fans of catchy and elegant vocal melodies, classically influenced instrumental parts and majestic/bombastic arrangements.

Canadian roots, rock, blues and soul band Bywater Call release the Southern rock banger “Everybody Knows”, their fourth single of the year taken from their upcoming studio album Shepherd.

Opening with an infectious guitar riff and a burst of horns, imagine a cross between the swagger of the Black Crowes and Rolling Stones and the soul of Aretha Franklin. “Everybody Knows” is classic Southern Rock with a fierce female vocal.
“Told in three vignettes, connected by the chorus of ‘everybody knows the bed they sleep in’, this song is about how you can tell yourself whatever you want to hear, whatever makes you feel better,” says Bywater Call’s guitarist, Dave Barnes, “but ultimately, the truth is always waiting for you at the end of the day.”
“Everybody Knows” was recorded and mixed by Bywater Call drummer Bruce McCarthy at The BeatFarm in Toronto, Canada.

Brazilian Melodic Death Metal Group Eldermoon have released their new single Timor Incogniti, a track taken from their forthcoming album Egregora, set to be released on July 30th, 2024 via Sliptrick Records.
Here’s the groups press release on the story behind the track; “Timor Incogniti – The human race begins to fear the unknown, to fear what it can’t explain, what and who deviates from consolidated dogma, and a blazing hunt begins for those who diverge from their faith and science. He took our gear and sold them to a pawn shop in Prague for next to nothing. Despite his full written confession to the Czech police, and despite us filing numerous reports, there seems to be no action whatsoever. He walks free while we’re stuck in a major financial hole due to the massive costs we had to bear to keep the Electrify Europe tour going, and to cover the loss of our beloved gear. We’re not the kind of band to ask for a handout but we welcome all support! KRYPTOS, who was formed in 1998 in Bangalore, India, have long been considered one of the spearheads of the Indian heavy metal revolution. With six critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have supported some of metal’s biggest names, like Iron Maiden, Testament, Kreator, Exodus and many more, earning themselves a reputation as a fiery and exciting live act.
