Swedish Melodic Metal band NEPTUNE is the latest addition to Germany based label Pride & Joy Music’s roster! The group from Stockholm will release its second album “End Of Time” on September 20th, 2024!
Today is the release date of the first single & lyric video for the track “Metal Hearts”, watch below.
Neptune is a Melodic Metal band with a long and vibrant history dating back to the early 1980s. Influences from classic heroes such as Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Accept, but of course, with a more modern touch that belongs in the 21st century are obvious.
During the 80s, the band recorded several demo tapes which led into meetings with multiple record labels. Ultimately, one of these labels funded the recording of an EP that was never released, causing the band to lose momentum, and eventually split up for what was believed to be for good.
It wasn’t until 30 years later, specifically in 2018, that these recordings from the 80’s were released along with several of their early demo recordings, resulting in the album “Land of Northern.” This release reignited the band’s passion, leading them to record a completely new album in 2020 entitled “Northern Steel” which still featured three original members from the 80’s line-up. Now, Neptune releases the album “End of Time” on September 20th, 2024 via Germany based Pride & Joy Music which is a musical continuation of the previous record. Since all band members contribute to songwriting, the material covers a wide range of styles and emotions.

Neptune’s lyrics often have a connection to their ancient Nordic history, and as a sounding board or creative engine, they often use an underlying narrative for their albums. This time it’s based around the last known Viking, Harald Hardrada and several somewhat fictionalized stories about his life and existence. It inspired them to several of the lyrics on the album, especially Harald’s final battle at Stamford Bridge that was fierce and relentless, culminating in Harald Hardrada’s passing, marking the end of the Viking Age. His followers then celebrated this event as the “End of time.”

ATAVISTIA, hailing from Vancouver and known for their distinctive blend of blackened symphonic metal, has unveiled their latest single, “Dark Isolation.” This new track plunges listeners into a profound exploration of melancholy and despair, capturing the emotional essence of their forthcoming EP, Inane Ducam. Accompanied by a lyric video, which can be found HERE, the song promises an immersive auditory experience.
ATAVISTIA is gearing up to release their new EP, Inane Ducam, which means ‘I Will Lead Into Nothingness,’ on July 19, 2024. This upcoming release introduces the talents of new guitarist Elia Baghbaniyan and bassist/vocalist Spencer Budworth. Inane Ducam aims to meld diverse genres and stylistic elements while preserving the unique sound that defines ATAVISTIA.
Past praise for ATAVISTIA:
“‘Cosmic Warfare’ is a rollicking ride through metal’s propensity for duality as the quartet show off their skill at fist-banging harshness on one end and melodic layered density on the other.”- Decibel Magazine
“ATAVISTIAhave always managed to sound massive, but little more. Now, we have the massive aesthetic wedded to actual songs, nestled within an album composed with structure and discipline. The result is impressive. Scarily, there is still room to improve. Whereas before I wrote these guys off as cheap WINTERSUN knock-offs, they have now brought themselves whisper-close to their heroes. If Jari doesn’t get his act together, his band could be overtaken soon. Perhaps they have been already.”– Angry Metal Guy

Enemy of Fate made waves when singer/songwriter Tiffany Fabiani hit the music scene and penned the intimate and emotional debut single, “Dear Dad” in September of 2023, showcasing her powerful lyrics and intense musicality. Following the success of their single, Enemy of Fate released their first 6-track EP Settle the Score earlier this year, further solidifying their place in the rock music scene.
Enemy of Fate has also made a name for themselves on the live circuit and will be headlining the iconic Los Angeles area music venue, Chain Reaction on July 26th. Their seductive and high-energy single “Surrender,” released today, Friday, June 21, 2024, which further showcases the band’s versatility and prowess as performers.
Enemy of Fate is mapping out their 2024 tour season and plans to bring their climactic rock/nu-metal sound to audiences across the country throughout the summer and fall. With their dynamic music and captivating performances, Enemy of Fate is poised to make a lasting impact on the rock music scene.
The infamous Italian director Lucio Fulci created many of horror and exploitation cinema’s most memorable and vivid visions of the supernatural, sadistic and salacious. Zombi 2, The Beyond, City Of The Living Dead, TheHouse By The Cemetery, and more left an indelible impression on the minds of many an impressionable youth. The Italian death metal band FULCI was so possessed by their countryman’s work, they named the band after him, with each album being a concept and tribute based on one of his films.
For the band’s fourth bloodthirsty full-length, and first for 20 Buck Spin after a steadily growing profile in the death metal underground over the last several years, FULCI presents Duck Face Killings, a homage to one of Lucio’s most depraved and reviled films, The New York Ripper. In his book Beyond Terror: The Films Of Lucio Fulci, author (and one time Coil member) Stephen Thrower says “The New York Ripper is a nihilistic vision of Hell on Earth. No one matters. No one cares… Fulci’s film offers a powerful vision of a world where love has curdled away into poison and death. Life goes on alright, as the soundtrack suggests over the credits, with its ‘just another day in the Big Bad Apple’ inflection and junk-funk facelessness: but in a climate of absolute zero.” Perhaps only the director’s most ardent apologists can confess to a guilty pleasure in the film.
Musically, FULCI unleashes a barrage of captivatingly gruesome riffs, gory pummeling, murderous slams, low-pitched guttural vocal patterns, and eerie intros and interludes. The band’s songwriting is consciously fixated on creating the most violent and sharpened music possible to convey the film’s extreme savagery, imagining a soundtrack for the most grisly and cynical slasher flick ever made. There’s a lot of luscious meat on these bones, dripping with hooks and all the colors of Lucio Fulci’s eccentric cinema of cruelty, while the psychotic killer hunts his victims with remorseless perversity and sick gratification, inexplicably quacking in a duck’s voice throughout…
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and such is the case with a film as sordid and odious as The New York Ripper. Described by the British Board Of Film Classification’s Carol Tpolski as, “simply the most damaging film I have ever seen in my whole life,” it was banned in the UK upon its 1982 release for the next twenty years. With Duck Face Killings, FULCI’s brutal delivery and graphic depiction of their mentor’s violent world shines like the glimmer of blood under the NYC street lights, shocking and wild. A testament to the controversial master in all its decadent guts and degenerate glory.
Sure to be one of the death metal highlights of the year, FULCI’s Duck Face Killings features guest vocal appearances by Lord Goat of legendary hip-hop act Non Phixion on “Knife” and Sherwood Webber of infamous death henchmen Skinless on “Human Scalp Collection,” and saxophone on “Il Miele Del Diavolo” by Mario Luce.
The album was recorded at Till Deaf Recording Studios, engineered and mixed by Ando Ferraiulo with assistant engineer Angelo Guierriero, with vocal recording and engineering handled by Stefano Santi at SPVN Studio, and was mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy, Tomb Mold). The cover artwork was crafted by Wes Benscoter (Autopsy, Sinister, Mortician, Broken Hope, Nile), conceptualized by Dome Diego and Fiore Stravino, the layout handled by Ascionemagro, and photography was handled by Chiara Meierhofer Muscarà.
The lead single from FULCI’s Duck Face Killings, “Rotten Apple,” is now streaming everywhere, including Bandcamp HERE and a visualizer playing at YouTube.
20 Buck Spin will release Duck Face Killings on LP, CD, MC, and digital formats August 9th. Preorders and merch are now available at the label webshop HERE and Bandcamp HERE.

The world may have broken, but it has always been that way for lead singer Aria and long time ally Mac Lee. After being held down and told to conform, they decided to hit back with their new release – “DEFIANT”. It is time to rail against ideas, people, authority figures and declare – I will not go silent, I am Defiant.
“Defiant” is a fast-paced track that opens with heavy tribal drums, setting a powerful tone. The song features a guttural yet ethereal vocal performance, expressing the raw emotion of breaking free. “Defiant” transcends their typical break-out anthem, “I’m Not Broken”, capturing the spirit of punk from the ’70s, the disaffected Gen X of the ’90s, and the resilient individuals of the 2020s. From the compelling hook “I won’t be silenced” to the liberating bridge “Set me free,” this song is designed to ignite passion and inspire fans to raise their fists and chant the anthemic line, “I am Defiant.”

The Other LA is a band on the verge of a metamorphosis. Their journey began in 1999, a time when the world was bracing for another collapse, and through the flow of time, a tiny hole into a converging universe opened. Originally from Louisiana, this four-piece band now calls Nashville home. They are evolving beyond the confines of rock and metal to forge a new sound that will draw in both fans and skeptics, leading them to a place of transcendence and ascendancy. Join the journey as Aria, with the support of fans, begins to fully understand the gift of Asperger’s.
The band has packed venues in Nashville, supporting acts like Halestorm, Lacey Sturm, and Lacuna Coil. TOLA delivers a heavy-hitting, headline-worthy show, distinguished by their seemingly effortless ability to connect emotionally with any audience. Aria, the lead singer and songwriter, shares her journey of balancing Asperger’s and overcoming adversity through intimate lyrics and raw vocal performances, making The Other LA stand out in the music scene.

ABOUT SKELETAL REMAINS:
Skeletal Remains’s ultra-brutal new album, Fragments of the Ageless, is upon us! The Americans—featuring Mike De La O (guitars), Chris Monroy (guitars/vocals), Pierce Williams (drums), and newcomer Brian Rush (bass)—kept busy after their much-hailed The Entombment of Chaos landed into a chaotic world in 2020. Rather than sit idle, the re-energized quartet crafted their penultimate statement. Tracks like “Void of Despair,” which Monroy describes as “aggressive and spastic,” “To Conquer the Devout,” “Relentless Appetite,” and “Verminous Embodiment” are death metal manifested in sound fundamentals, killer musicianship, and the right attitude. While Skeletal Remains have had four full-lengths since forming in 2011, ‘Fragments of the Ageless’ is the band in their highest grotesque gear yet.
Line-up: Chris Monroy – guitars/vocals Mike De La O – guitars Pierce Williams – drums Brian Rush – bass
Since their formation in 2013, Bewitcher has seen their signature “Black Magick Metal” sound go from humble beginnings to new heights of creativity and wild anthemic fervor. A small collection of long out-of-print demo tapes kicked off what has proven to be an enduring line of ripping studio albums, singles and EPs. They have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working touring acts around, bringing their volcanic, high energy live shows to every corner of North America and parts abroad.
Line-Up: Mateo von Bewitcher – vox + guitars A. Hunter – drums + percussion A. Magus – bass guitar + backing vox
