KARYN CRISIS’ GOSPEL OF THE WITCHES are now streaming the entirety of their new album “Covenant” via PureGrainAudio. The album is released today, on October 25th, via Aural Music.
Karyn commented “Covenant is about the chthonic and celestial realms of the divine feminine, about liminal spaces where goddesses pull people deep into the earth’s fire, into astral travel and dreamy places to be bestowed sacred knowledge upon those who feel outcast, marginalized and unseen. A ‘Covenant’ is a type of devotion, an agreement with a larger force. In keeping with our first album, Covenant is charged music, ritualistic, and it is made through the process of channeling.”
Boosted by the success of their 2017 debut, »Letters To Myself«, modern melodic metal highflyers CYHRA are using that momentum and pushing forward with a new album – the sophomore “No Halos In Hell“ will see the light of day on November 15th via Nuclear Blast.
Furthermore the band has unleashed the first single and lead-off track ‘Out Of My Life’. Prepare for trouble and check out the new clip, directed by Swedish mastermind Patric Ullaeus, watch it below.
The band states:“CONTEST! Please share this video [on Facebook]. We will randomly select 2 people who have shared this video and award them a special Cyhra ’No Halos In Hell’ T-Shirt!”
Founded by vocalist Jake E (ex-AMARANTHE) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-IN FLAMES), CYHRA has gone from being reminiscent of the duo’s former bands to having a unique identity. In fact, »No Halos In Hell« is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box; coming out heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks that stay nailed to the brain for days, achieving maximum impact throughout. Fusing a relentless energy and heaviness the best way possible was CYHRA’s main focus this time out.
The addition of guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-SHINING) as a full member has raised the creative process to a level where, according to Jake E, “Everyone is playing to the point of what is best for the song.”
»No Halos In Hell« will be available as 2 CD digipak, black vinyl or download on November 15th and you can pre-order the format of your choice here: https://nblast.de/Cyhra-NoHalosInHell
Produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by the band’s very own Jake E, the album is filled with 12 live-oriented songs, ensuring maximum catchiness. The album artwork was created by Abstrata – The Art of Gustavo Sazes.

GONE IN APRIL, the symphonic melodic death metallers based in Canada and the USA – feat. TESTAMENT‘s Bassist Steve Di Giorgio – have released a new video for the song “Empire Of Loss”, watch it here:
Furthermore, GONE IN APRIL’s new album, ‘Shards Of Light’, is now released.
Stated the band:
“Double release day! In addition to our new album, Shards of Light, we are stocked to release our new music video, Empire of Loss! While hunting for the perfect venue where to film our next video, we found a gorgeous church in ruins in Detroit. The holes in the ceiling somehow made us think of how the human memory sometimes looses pieces too. Amidst the desolation, shards of light were entering the church. Amidst the destruction, there was still light to be found.”
Please Note, STEVE DI GIORGIO is available for studio sessions as well as session bassist for tours. For further information, please contact via email: alexalphaomega@gmail.com – robertoalphaomega@gmail.com.
The fretless guru, STEVE DI GIORGIO doesn’t need any longer introductions, as he is widely renowned as a pioneer on the fretless bass in heavy metal music, being the bassist of TESTAMENT, DEATH and SADUS, among others. Within his genre, STEVE DI GIORGIO is respected for his playing skills, versatility and incredible technique. He has more than 40 studio album recordings and over 20 years of touring the world.

Jimmy Kay and Perrin Wolfson of Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to long standing SAXSON drummer Nigel Glockler Live on The Metal Voice Facebook page September 7 2019.
Watch the interview HERE, starts at the 3 Minute mark.
In the chat, the three talk about the SAXSON back Catalogue and special SAXSON Poll on The Metal Voice Facebook page, trying to find the fan favorite SAXSON album of all time (which is still ongoing) and Nigel also gives some insight into the upcoming Studio SAXSON Album which is being worked on and in it’s early stages.
Nigel Glockler Told The Metal Voice about the next SAXSON Studio Album,”We put an effort in all the albums we do and try not to let anything sub-standard go in. We just started writing the next Saxon Album we have been in a rehearsal studio for a week in the U.K. just getting some ideas together. It’s always hard work writing.”
He continued. “In terms of musical direction it will be pretty much where we are at with Battering Ram and Thunderbolt but maybe on this album a couple more groove oriented songs. I think those last two albums lacked a little groove. This new one will have a bit more groove, but still heavy. We are doing writing sessions right now and working through them. We got about 10-11 ideas/songs at the moment. I’m scheduled to go into the studio to do the drums beginning of November 2019. In terms of producer nothing official but it’s pretty much a given who is going to do it. Nothing official yet. “
Finnish symphonic metal formation AND OCEANS have announced that vocalist Kim ’Kena’ Strömsholm has stepped down from the band, due to personal reasons. The band remains on friendly terms with their former vocalist and are wishing Kena all the best for future endeavors. A replacement has already been found in singer Mathias Lillmåns, who is also known from his work with FINNTROLL and DISPYT.
AND OCEANS comment: “We are glad to announce that we have found a new singer. We want to welcome our old friend Mathias Lillmåns to the band. He doesn’t really need an introduction, but he’s best known for his work with FINNTROLL and numerous other bands. We’re excited to have him on board, as he is taking this position with all the seriousness it should be taken. He has big shoes to fill. We’ve started working on the vocal arrangements with Mathias and we are still entering the studio in October. The band will be taking some time to prepare for the recording process and to make the best AND OCEANS record so far.”
Mathias Lillmåns comments: “I first heard about AND OCEANS exactly 20 years ago. ‘The Dynamic Gallery Of Thoughts’ record had just been released and I was totally blown away by it. Never in my life would I have imagined that something this well-written and produced would come out of our little home town, Pietarsaari. And never ever would my teenage mind have guessed that I would find myself in the situation I am in now. Years went by and I watched the progress of the band as both a fan and a friend of the guys. Heck… We even had some side-projects together. I guess it was a given fact and no surprise that the guys called me up when it was time to pass Kena’s torch on. Here we are years later, ready and stronger than ever to unleash a new AND OCEANS album upon the world. This is going to be awesome!”
