Coming from the same country that offered Volbeat and D-A-D to the world, SILVERA stands for hard rock with a modern twist and timeless melodies. More than taking the legacy of Denmarks’s rock and metal music, the nordic four-piece started building their own history in 2020 with “Edge Of The World”, the debut album that put them on the map of all modern hard rock lovers. Songs such as “Generation Z” and “Light In Life” immediately took off in streaming services, gathering more than one million hits each and starting the anticipation for Silvera’s sophomore album right there.
Enter “World Behind Doors”. On their second album, out today, Silvera endeavored to maintain the core elements of their own sound while also expanding the horizons. This led the four-piece to experiment with new techniques, such as incorporating harsh vocals into one of the songs and composing three new tracks in the studio. This departure from their previous approach, where the foundational elements of songs were typically established prior to entering the studio, allowed for a fresh creative process. The result: an even fresher set of songs, taking the best elements of metal rock and everything in between and putting them together to create songs that really stand out.
Once again, all the music was meticulously recorded at Hansen Studios, with Jacob Hansen (Anette Olzon, Arch Enemy, Delain, Epica) playing a pivotal role in preserving the essence of the Silvera sound. His guidance in discerning which elements of the songs to emphasize proved invaluable, and his dedication truly shone through in the final product. Additionally, the vocals were expertly recorded at Martin Buus’ studio, where Martin’s skillful production not only enhanced Michael Krogh’s vocal range but also fostered a seamless collaboration between them. The synergy between Martin and Michael exceeded any expectations, resulting in an album that surpassed the band’s initial vision.
On this album, akin to their first release, Silvera are thrilled to feature collaborations, this time with Dreamshade and Guarnica Mancini from The Gems / Thundermother, all of whom delivered exceptional performances. Their deep understanding of the band’s vision for the songs resulted in interpretations that, once again here, surpassed any expectations.
“World Behind Doors,” has all it takes to propel Silvera toward new heights and make them step into the next level. If there is any justice left in the music business these days, that’s exactly what will happen.
“World Behind Doors” is out today on LP (yellow vinyl, limited to 100 copies), digipack CD and digital formats via Mighty Music.
Much-loved UK modern metal quartet Skarlett Riot return with their brand new single, ‘Luminate’, taken from the band’s upcoming NEW album called Caelestia(due October 25th, 2024 via Despotz Records).
The band had this to say about their new single:
“Luminate is a song written about finding light in the darkest places. Having those moments of clarity, understanding you don’t have to struggle through adversity alone. It’s about realising your true worth and being able to find strength when you need it most.”
With the release of their upcoming album, ‘Caelestia‘, UK-based alt-metal quartet Skarlett Riot feel their stars have aligned, literally, this time! A band that has always put 100% into every release thus far, ‘Caelestia’ is, in the band’s own words, ‘the best Skarlett Riot release yet’. It’s an album that the band have worked hard on for many months. Bouncing back and forth on studio dates, working up a few songs at a time.
Which also gave the band time to be super critical and rework songs where they needed to. ‘Skarlett Riot’s sound is created by just 4 people infusing our influences and ideas together to create something we personally connect and relate to’ singer Skarlett states, clearly very proud of what she and the band have come up with , featuring brothers Luke (drums) and Danny Oglesby (guitars/screams) and bassist Tim Chambers. The band have consistently sought to develop, expand and grow their sound. Built around Skarlett’s always spectacular voice, the band add harsh vocals to add some aggressive colour to their palette, in amongst the tight rhythms and powerful guitar work.
The album is called ‘Caelestia’ (Latin for ‘Celestial’) and features artwork (by longtime SR art collaborator Christiane Gilbrook) that emphasises the band’s connection, not just in their music, but also personally. ‘If you look closely at the album artwork’ Skarlett offers, ‘you’ll see four constellations which represent our individual zodiac signs’. It’s an attention to detail that the band has cast over everything surrounding the album. From the way the songs were written, to the production and the way the band will present it to the world.
Guitarist Danny is ordinarily the main song writer, and he has contributed the bulk of the songs on ‘Caelestia’, although singer Skarlett has added some of the more personal songs this time around. Her lyrics reflecting a lot of upheaval in recent times, especially in her personal life. All of which has added some extra bite to the tracks featured on the album. With several singles already garnering great support at radio and across YouTube and social media, the foundations for this release have been laid. Tours with the likes of Esoterica, and several sold out headline shows have primed the band’s fanbase for the new record. ‘We’ve been working hard on this for a while now, Skarlett adds, ‘we are so excited to introduce our new album ‘Caelestia’ into the world!’ The band recorded their new album at Treehouse studios (Bullet For My Valentine, While She Sleeps, Fightstar).
Finnish melancholic metal act ENDLESS CHAIN are celebrating the release of their new, second studio album entitled “Agony”. In support, the band has premiered a music video for their latest single “We Are All Vulnerable”, featuring guest appearances by Sami Yli-Sirniö from Kreator and Samuli Mikkonen from Korpiklaani. The video was produced by Winter Notes Production (known for their work with acts like Wolfheart, Before The Dawn, Ensiferum and more) and you can watch it here:
ENDLESS CHAIN about the track: “The last song of the album, which is also stylistically the future of Endless Chain. The lyrics directly express feelings about the harsh world, each of us is sometimes vulnerable”
Thematically encapsulating the delicate balance between dream and reality, escapism, light and shadow, and the intrinsic emotions of loneliness and isolation, “Agony” dives deep into ten soul-stirring compositions. Musically, a darker direction unfolds, merging atmospheric melodies with heavy & aggressive riffs to craft a captivating and unique sound. With a profound focus on the interplay of dark beauty, “Agony” promises to captivate listeners with its depth and intensity.
The album was recorded and mixed by Aleksanteri Kuosa (Before The Dawn, Wolfheart, Waltari) and mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Volbeat, Hypocrisy, Ville Valo). Artwork by by Finnish artist Kalle Pyyhtinen.
ENEMY INSIDE continue their musical journey with a powerful message for those who feel suppressed and bullied. Their latest single, ‘Sayonara,’ urges fans to take a step back and reflect on themselves, rather than remaining trapped in toxic environments and relationships. The track opens with sharp, staccato-like riffs, building tension throughout the verses before erupting into a liberating, explosive chorus. Long-time collaborator Jonas Sommer once again captures the essence of the song with a stunning audiovisual presentation.
“‘Sayonara’ is a real power track. Not only its title spreads Japanese vibes, the video is also heavily inspired by the anime style. The message of the song gets clear really quick: Don’t let the haters get you down. If they’re talking about you, you’ve done everything right. I am who I am and if you don’t like it, ‘SAYONARA’!” state the band.

Grammy-nominated powerhouse singer-songwriter Beth Hart has announced her new studio album, ‘You Still Got Me’, which will be released on 25 October via Provogue / Mascot Label Group. The album features appearances by Eric Gales and Guns ‘n Roses’ Slash. She has also revealed her new song, “Wonderful World.” Listen to the new song here.
If you have ever seen Beth Hart live or immersed yourself in her music, you know she puts every ounce of her being into her songs. Firebrands inspire; it’s what attracts people to them. However, part of those personalities’ makeup is that they do not wear a harness. They thrive on the freedom and space around them. But, with that comes danger; you need an emotional crash mat, and those save lives. It is something we all need at times throughout our lives.
The album’s video for the title track “You Still Got Me”, poignantly features her beloved husband, Scott. Scott, along with the team around her, provide that surface to fall on when she needs it. Night after night on tour you can see the adulation she receives and that she also gives back. That connection has been forged over the last 28 years of releasing music in which she unapologetically wears her heart on her sleeve – like a warrior. Which is precisely what she is.
Today she reveals the beautiful piano ballad “Wonderful World,” which oozes optimism. “That song was written for and about my beautiful niece,” she says. “As time has gone by, I see that it’s really written for the lineage of the women in my family. All the way down the line; my great grandma, my grandma, my mom, my sisters, my niece and her daughter. So it’s the lineage and how imperative it is for me to see that, and what a gift to finally see that.”
Beth says about her writing process, “It’s always for the joy of writing or for the challenge of writing, to seek what’s going on. Sometimes, when I’m sad or scared, I check in on the piano. Sometimes a song comes, and sometimes one doesn’t. Either way, there’s comfort there.”
The album erupts with soaring rocker ‘Savior With A Razor’ featuring Guns n’ Roses’ Slash. The epic Bond-like anthem thunders with nihilistic defiance as Beth’s vocals take the listener through the shadows and smash through the ceiling as Slash’s guitar wraps around the story in an electric fashion. “Beth Hart is one of my favorite artists to work with,” Slash says. “She is an incredible singer/lyricist on so many levels. But Beth is also as sincere and genuine a friend as they come. She’s amazing.”
Beth explains the messaging within the songs: “I leave that up to the listener to decide. Personally, I know what it is for right now. One of the beautiful things I love about songs and albums is that over time, that meaning changes. I like to keep that open because there’s a lot I can learn from it.”
Little Heartbreak Girl, pierces through the clouds like spears of hope and power. “Little Heartbreak Girl, you’re on your own,” she yearns but follows with “Little heartbreak girl, stronger than stone”. Still, it’s the lyric “You’re gonna conquer the world” scattered throughout that stands atop the mountain, planting a flag into the ground.
The decadent groove-laden funk of “Suga N My Bowl” features the Southpaw wizard and longtime friend Eric Gales. She offers up a cautionary tale on “Never Underestimate a Gal,” while the Tom’s Waits-esque “Drunk on Valentine” is a tender, Jazzy, smokey barroom ballad. Her “most personal and powerful song on the album” is the haunting socio-political opus “Don’t Call The Police,” an incredibly raw, upsetting, and observational insight on the George Floyd murder.
‘You Still Got Me’ is Hart’s eleventh studio album, and it finds her riding a career trajectory that has been heading for the stars for several years and keeps soaring. Her most recent albums, ‘A Tribute To Led Zeppelin’ (2022) and ‘War In My Mind’ (2019), became her highest charting UK and US releases to date, along with crashing into the Top 10 in Germany, France. Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, and The Netherlands. Selling out shows worldwide, her recent travels have taken her across the US, Canada, Europe, and all the way to India, Morocco, and Australia.
We all have our “Me” when she sings “You still got me” – a loved one, a friend, a pet, a place, a memory, a song…even in her moments of fragility, Beth Hart continues to inspire. She buries her hand deep and tears her emotions open so we can all see a mirror into ourselves, reminding us that you can feel low, but your inner strength is so much more powerful.
Beth Hart is a powerhouse in every sense of the word, and …she is a gargantuan BADASS!
