SICKRET have release their new single and video ‘Rolling with the Punches’.
SICKRET bring back 90s Nu Metal and hits today’s spirit. Nu Metal is alive and kicking – the most famous Nu Metal band in Switzerland shows this perfectly with their varied songwriting.
Hard and uncompromising: Since their formation in 2010, SICKRET have played more than 200 shows in 10 countries, impressing their fans with their hard-hitting stage presence. SICKRET perfectly combine the Nu Metal crossover and hardcore genres and show how this mixture should sound today.
With three albums, several singles and official chart positions under their belt, SICKRET have shared the stage with bands like SICK OF IT ALL, SKINDRED, BREAKDOWN OF SANITY, JINJER, DOG EAT DOG, MUSHROOMHEAD, CLAWFINGER, JONATHAN DAVIS (KORN), Ill Nino and many more.
In 2021 the band played some shows with Jinjer in Germany and Switzerland. A year later, the band played a 4-week EU/UK tour with American cult band Mushroomhead.
OHRENFEINDT are set to release the new studio studio album “Wenn Der Teufel Anruft” on October 18th on Metalville Records.
They are now almost 30 years old. While most people at this age are thinking about starting a family, a career and building a house, OHRENFEINDT from St. Paul, Hamburg are making a new album and celebrating a round album anniversary at the same time: studio album no. 10 was created at the Hertzwerk @ Chefrockstudios in Hamburg under the trusted wing of Olman Viper and goes by the friendly name of “Wenn der Teufel anruft”.
Hardly any other band in Germany has been on the road for so many years with such a high number of hits. Nevertheless, the three from the Rockstelle have by no means had enough.
OHRENFEINDT are proud of their wrinkles and have not missed a single day in 30 years. With the rock’n’roll patina of an old V8 Ami sled, they continue on their way unimpressed. In 2022, their live album “Krawallgeigensymphonie” entered the Media Control album charts at number 26. An extraordinary success for the Kiezrockers: rarely has a band achieved a top chart position with a live album. But that’s no reason to start thinking about the final spurt.
“We’re still really keen to rock the clubs and festivals of the republic. And with the new album, we’ve once again got a load of chic Roggenrohl anthems in our luggage. The first songs have already been played to our fans in spring 2024 – fresh from the live stage to your eardrums!”, grins mastermind, bassist and screamer Chris Laut. Meanwhile, riotous violinist Keule Rockt fiddles one riff after another from his gifted fingers – in the studio as well as on stage with the joy of movement of a Duracell bunny: “I have so much energy in me, I wouldn’t know what to do with it otherwise. A gym would be completely superfluous for me.”
There’s also a new Mr. Scott in the engine room. So: new with a view to the upcoming album. Robert ‘Jöcky’ Jöcks has been on tour for three years now. “I’ve already had a lot of fun at the previous shows with OHRENFEINDT. But now I’m playing songs on the album that I was involved in from the very beginning. That’s a whole different ball game.”
As always, without a net, double bottom and working brakes, but with wide legs, squealing tires and a proper rock’n’roll motorization: The lights go out – the full throttle rock goes on! Leather jacket on and fag out, fists in the air and off you go!
Always without a helmet, without a seatbelt and without safety briefs: nothing comes out of a can, everything is done by hand in the full-throttle rock circus from the Waterkant. Disclaimer: After listening to the album, you might hear a little worse than before. But you will multiply your happiness hormones. You want it too! Roggen rooooooooool!!!

Continuing on her track of crushing boundaries Izzy Reign returns cracking open “Pandora’s Box” an enigmatic fusion of metalcore, alternative pop, and metal, out now from FiXT.
“Pandora’s Box” is a fusion of stability and chaos, blending synthesizers with thrashing guitars, with a dichotic vocal performance that traverses from sensual to brutal. Izzy Reign‘s aloof and enigmatic vocal style adds a layer of depth to the song, drawing listeners into the provocative and raw narrative. In her own words, Izzy Reign explains, “In this song, I wanted to bring in a wave of different emotions of instability. So i wanted to reflect that musically by adding different music styles, starting with a hard EDM drop as the first chorus, giving the ‘ignore the problems, just have fun’ vibe. and surly turning into the heavy alt choruses , which give the same feeling but more aggressive and chaotic. All while mixing in the “breaking point of feeling the truth.”
The track features a diverse array of instruments, including synth, drums, guitar, and bass, seamlessly weaving together different musical styles to reflect a range of emotions. A fusion of pop elements with metal, the track showcases Izzy Reign’s versatility and innovative approach to music. This dynamic song offers a raw, emotional journey through the complexities of mental health and personal struggle, marking the next chapter in Izzy Reign’s highly anticipated debut album, slated for release in early 2025. “I wanted to write about my personal experiences with seeing the same mental qualities that are unhealthy in myself , in others. Seeing signs in people who either have specific motive or are simply masking their emotions just to deal with what ever is going on. Regardless of the pain, still putting forward a happy excitable personality, and then most of the time, gets covered with bad life choices. ‘You don’t know me, But I know you.'”
Bold. Eclectic. Rebellious. Izzy Reign thrives on originality and thinking outside the box. Her music is nothing short of a reflection of this. Her father was an avid drummer and she grew up singing to Alanis Morissette, Jewel, and Madonna with her mother. Inspired by Enter Shikari’s music video “Sorry You Are Not A Winner” and the musical stylings of Imogen Heap, Izzy took the plunge into the industry and played her first live show when she was 15 years old. Since then she’s taken a deeper dive into production, songwriting and performing, working with a variety of artists that come through the production house she shares with producers Jon Eberhard (I Prevail, Skillet, Sleeping With Sirens) and Nick Matzkows (Wind Walkers, Until I Wake, ENMY, Attack! Attack!). Over the past four years she has released a myriad of covers, originals and music videos on her YouTube channel racking up millions of views. She has received notable attention for her popular The Nightmare Before Christmas cover of “This Is Halloween”, which has over 10 million streams across Spotify and YouTube along with 73,200 videos using the sound on TikTok.
In 2023 Izzy came to the attention of the US-based record label FiXT, through the discovery of her independent release, “Broken By Design”, which showcased a new edge to Izzy’s sound. Signing on for a multi-album deal, Izzy Reign is now set to release her debut album with FiXT in 2025.
In his own words The Anix explains, “‘Sinking Alone‘ is a nod to some of the early 90’s bands like HUM, Weezer, Failure and STP. You have these super intimate and quiet parts where it feels like it’s just the vocalist in a room with a guitar, then it goes into full-send with this explosion when the full band clocks in for work. I used vintage fuzz pedals and several overdubs of bass guitars and Fender Bass VI to get this juggernaut massive tone. Phil Collins is one of my favorite drummers, so I took inspiration from GENESIS for some of the drum parts, but this is intended to be a modern song when it comes to the lyrical theme. I find it odd that in a time where we are more connected than ever before in human history, the majority of us feel more alone than ever.”
A captivating nod to ’90s grunge, “Sinking Alone” embraces both the past era and our modern world exploring themes of isolation in a world where communication is at our fingertips. The single showcases a masterful blend of grunge, alternative rock, and modern rock, bringing a fresh yet nostalgic sound to listeners worldwide. The Anix‘s ability to translate emotional depth through haunting melodies and intricate guitar work coupled with his engaging vocal performance and compelling lyrics creates an emotional journey for the listener, reflecting the complexities of modern solitude.
The Anix is the alternative / electronic-rock project of Los Angeles artist/producer Brandon Smith. Known for pushing creative boundaries with his genre-blending mix of alternative rock with dark melancholic undertones drenched in an array of synthesizers, The Anix’s music has captured the attention of global editorial curators with prominent features across official playlists from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Yandex Music, and more. The Anix has received press support from outlets like Revolver, Substream, and Outburn magazines as well as features in TV and video game franchises including Call of Duty, Destiny, Mass Effect, and WWE.

The Metal Voice recently interviewed Metal Allegiance and Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick about the Metal Allegiance show September 6 in Sayreville, NJ at the Starland Ballroom.
Alex also gave an update on the upcoming Testament studio album in the chat.
When asked about the new Testament studio album “Our current drummer Chris Dovas, I think he’s really lit a fire under everyone. I think everybody’s gonna be really impressed. We’ve had some amazing drummers. I think that’s one of the reasons why, I’ll call it, the resurrection period of the Testament has gone so well, uh with all due respect to Louie (Clemente) who’s still a great friend of ours, the original drummer. He wasn’t like a drummer’s drummer and when he left the band he never joined another band. Everyone we have since then has been a drummers’ drummer. So when I came back to the band in the mid 2000s we always had a drummer’s drummer. And we did a tour cycle with Dave Lombardo which was amazing but scheduling conflicts were too much. And to really do a new album with this band (With Lombardo) especially for the drummer it’s such a level of commitment. I would have been surprised if that worked out so I know some people were hoping that would continue and they would see us with Dave Lambardo but I’ll tell you nobody’s complaining. Something new is happening with Chris and it’s very well captured on this record. There is something for everybody on this record. There’s super fast high energy songs, there is a slow song that we haven’t done for a long time. The type that we haven’t done with some elements that we’ve never done before. I think it’s definitely going to be a Testament record but it’s going to have a lot of diversity as well.”
When asked about if he has song contributions to the new Testament album “I have, yes. We met a few times and worked like we used to kind of bouncing ideas off each other. This one there’s a lot more contributions and people seem to like it when we write together. I have a whole song, at least one whole composition on this record. “
METAL ALLEGIANCE began as a celebration of heavy metal, powered by the almost tribal bond shared between the extreme music community’s most revered trailblazers, armed with a list of contributors onstage (and off) that read like a Wikipedia entry on the genre itself – whose “core 4” is comprised of David Ellefson, Mark Menghi, Alex Skolnick, and Mike Portnoy.
On September 6th, 2024, the band will rock the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, on a bill that will also feature Meanstreak and Held Hostage. As with their previous shows, expect a setlist that balances original material with classic covers of metal royalty.
The Starland show will come nine months after the group’s last performance in January, at the House of Blues Anaheim, as part of NAMM, and this will be the first Metal Allegiance show to feature the group’s core 4 in six years on the East Coast.
“Metal Allegiance’s performance at the Anaheim House of Blues stood as a resounding triumph, exceeding the lofty expectations of fans and critics alike. The band’s mastery of their craft, coupled with an unwavering commitment to delivering an unforgettable live experience, solidified their status as torchbearers of modern metal… Metal Allegiance is alive and well and their 10th anniversary show solidified their righteous spot on the altar of all things metal.” Says thevinyldistrict.com
As with previous shows, expect several guests, this time including Troy Sanders (Mastodon), John Bush (Armored Saint) and Dave Davidson (Revocation), among others.
“It’s time once again, for our metal summit with Metal Allegiance! This time we celebrate in heavy metals founding father state of New Jersey… the launch pad to so many legendary careers of our genre. The set list is sure to be blistering as we wrap up the summer together…see you there!” – David Ellefson
“After 10 years of performing as Metal Allegiance, it’s now finally time for us to take a trip across the GW and pay our friends in Jersey a visit…see ya soon Slayerville.” -Mark Menghi
“Metal Allegiance is beyond pleased to announce our long overdue return to the East Coast. In addition to making up for lost time, this gig will mark the first time, after a number of noteworthy shows in the New York area, that we finally make the pilgrimage across the river. New Jersey may be a State that those of us from NY kid around with, but its place in metal history, both on the musician and industry side, is no joke. So join us September 6, 2024, as Metal Allegiance and Jersey finally meet!” – Alex Skolnick
“Looking forward to throwing down with my Metal Allegiance brothers again… it’s always such a blast! While New York and Southern California are the two usual locations for our bashes, it will be fun to venture into NJ for the 1st time. On a personal note, I’m also excited that the gals in Meanstreak will be joining us for this special one-off show.” – Mike Portnoy
“Happy as hell to see Metal Allegiance playing in New Jersey! There is always a great crowd at the Starland Ballroom and I’m thrilled to go back. Good times are ahead my friends.” – Troy Sanders
“Jersey! I’m pumped to be a part of Metal Allegiance alongside some truly legendary musicians. This show is gonna be epic, see you in the pit on September 6th!” – Dave Davidson
“Looking forward to playing the all-mighty New Jersey for another east coast Metal Allegiance extravaganza! Love playing and hanging with the guys. Always a fun time and you never know who will attend to join the fracas.” – John Bush
Also available will be a Meet & Greet VIP package, which will include:
• Early access into the venue • Exclusive pre-show Meet & Greet with members of Metal Allegiance • Personal photograph & autograph signing with members of Metal Allegiance • Collectible show poster (which they’ll happily sign for you) • Official Meet & Greet VIP laminate • Crowd-free access to the merchandise booth
