The UK’s most exciting new heavy band, HERIOT, have unveiled their new single, At the Fortress Gate, their second glimpse of their long-awaited debut album. Devoured by the Mouth of Hell will be released 27th September.
The single was recorded with Josh Middleton (Sylosis, Architects) and GRAMMY award-winning Will Putney (END, Fit For An Autopsy, Better Lovers); and the video was directed by the band’s long-time collaborator Harry Steel and filmed at HERIOT’s performances this summer at Hellfest, Jera on Air, Download Festival, Resurrection, Rock Am Ring and Rock im Park.
The band comment:“At the Fortress Gate blends elements from both our early and newer influences. It’s been one of our favourite unreleased tracks to perform live over this festival season, and we can’t wait to add it in the set for the Fit For An Autopsy tour later this year!”
Blackened Death metallers Kanonenfieber have released a new single and video for Der Maulwurf (The Mole), taken from their upcoming anti-war album, Die Urkatastrophe.
KANONENFIEBER explains about the back story of Der Maulwurf: “Underground mine warfare also began in the fall/winter of 1914 with the start of the trench warfare. The pioneers employed to build the mine shafts worked 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Apart from the miserable oxygen supply, the so-called ‘moles’ had to contend with water ingress and burial. The low tunnels made it impossible to work standing up, which is why the miners soon complained of back problems, open knees and hands and trench foot disease. Miners who worked for long periods of time often suffered from mental illnesses and panic attacks as a result of their work.”
Ahead of their headliner “Decade of the Swarm Tour”, Pittsburgh, PA Deathcore unit, Signs of the Swarm, have dropped a live version of their most popular song, Amongst the Low & Empty, from Whitechapel’s 2023 Christmas show. The audio from the board was mixed+mastered by producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Varials).
“We wanted to capture the energy of Amongst the Low & Empty from the stage and bring it to your headphones,” explains drummer Bobby Crow. “The song has really taken on a life of its own on the road—serving as our new de facto opener and jolting the crowd with its immediate energy—all thanks to the fans. Special thanks to Whitechapel and the amazing crowd in Knoxville, TN for being part of this. And, yes, we’ll be opening with it on both the ‘Decade of the Swarm’ North American Tour and ‘Faces of Death’ European Tour.”
FEVER 333 have officially announced details surrounding their eagerly awaited new album DARKER WHITE out October 4th. The band have also released a new single called NO HOSTAGES. Watch the video below.
Consisting of fourteen tracks, “DARKER WHITE is the intersection we will all find ourselves in at some point in our lives,” says front man Jason Aalon on the theme of the new album. “It is the struggle we will inevitably face when identifying our metric for good or bad. Wrong or right. Dark and light. All based on our environment, social construction and cultural/psychological conditioning. It is the eagle-eyed observation of said intersection and the removing the shame after realizing we all experience it and it is up to us to find use of this taboo so it can be offered to the world as a beautiful story, piece of wisdom or a perspective that ironically changes your life for the better. DARKER WHITE is a sonic and social experience.”

Souls of Diotima is a band with a unique style, characterized by recognizable elements of traditional, progressive and symphonic metal, as well as unconventional elements, woven musically in a new and highly expressive way. The band’s music engages all the senses and conveys a feeling similar to watching an epic film, creating strong visual scenes and almost tangible mental images. The defining characteristic of Souls of Diotima is its style, which recalls Mediterranean atmospheres and traditions. In fact, the band hails from Sardinia, an island in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. This makes its sound and style unique and recognizable.
The band has participated in tours and festivals abroad, headlining and sharing the stage with bands such as Obituary, Hatebreed, Stratovarius, Vision Divine, Dgm, Folkstone, Saurom and others. Souls of Diotima have also worked with many of Europe’s top producers, including Jens Bögren and Oscar Nilsson, who is their current producer. In 2017, the Souls of Diotima founded a record label in London: “Diotima Records Music Management LTD,” and the following year the band with the new label created and participated as headliners in the first edition of the “Diotima Metal Fest” held in downtown Paris in order to raise funds for Parkinson’s research.
