Bochum’s sludge/post-metal duo TranscomaR is back with a powerful lyric video for “Dictatorship”. The track, taken from their album The Sea of Trees, offers fans a brutal critique of society through raw and visceral sound.
Dictatorship” dissects the human condition under oppressive systems, exploring themes of greed, addiction, and societal decay. The band’s unique blend of sludge and post-metal seethes with tension, delivering a heavy-hitting anthem that amplifies despair and rage with an unflinching intensity. Lyrically and sonically, the track captures humanity’s relentless self-destructive spiral and the cycles of suffering we seem unable to break free from.
TranscomaR is a two-piece band from Bochum, Germany, formed by friends Ramin and Tobias in 2018. They initially met through a mutual friend while living in an alternative house community, where Ramin often joined Tobias’ punk band to jam. Over time, their shared passion for music led them to form their band. After playing on local stages and facing pandemic restrictions, they recorded their debut album, The Sea of Trees, in 2022, which was released a year later on Bandcamp. Their sound blends grunge, sludge, and post-metal, featuring heavy, down-tuned guitars, intense shouting, and occasional noise storms.

Emerging from the heart of India’s thriving yet unorthodox metal scene, Godless has steadily climbed to the pinnacle of the country’s death metal scene. But it’s not their experimental innovations that have set them apart—rather, it’s their unapologetic dedication to pure, high-octane, thrash-infused death metal. With their ferocious energy and no-holds-barred approach, they’ve become a standout force in the global extreme metal landscape.
Formed in mid-2015 in Hyderabad, Godless was founded by a group of seasoned musicians who had already made their mark on the Indian metal scene. Though their name might suggest a nihilistic, uncompromising spirit, it’s the band’s raw and unrelenting sound that truly defines them. From their very inception, Godless has drawn upon the rich heritage of old-school metal while constantly evolving their sound—often delving into thrash, death, and beyond.
The band made their debut with Centuries of Decadence, a blistering four-track EP released in May 2016 through Transcending Obscurity Records. Mixed and mastered by Joe Haley of Psycroptic, the EP was met with widespread acclaim, securing features in Rolling Stone India, Terrorizer, XXL Rock, No Clean Singing, Metal Wani, Brave Words, and Dead Rhetoric. The release quickly cemented Godless as a rising force in the Indian death metal scene.
In 2017, the band had the honor of supporting iconic acts like Psycroptic and Jeff Loomis on their Indian tours, gaining invaluable exposure and growing their fanbase. Fuelled by this momentum, they returned to the studio in early 2018 to record Swarm, a vicious death-thrash EP that featured a guest appearance by former Obscura guitarist Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschlager. The EP was recorded and mixed at Poland’s legendary Hertz Studio, known for its work with giants like Vader, Behemoth, and Decapitated.
In 2018, Godless triumphed in the Metal Battle India competition, earning them a coveted spot to perform at Wacken Open Air—one of the world’s largest metal festivals. This international debut marked the band’s first major milestone on the global stage. Following a packed 2019 that included a successful India tour, a four-week European tour, and a memorable Nepal tour, the band set their sights on even greater achievements.
In November 2021, Godless unleashed their highly anticipated debut LP, States of Chaos. Mixed and mastered once again at Hertz Studio, the album delivers eight ferocious tracks of relentless thrash and death metal. States of Chaos quickly garnered praise from fans and critics alike, landing the band at the top of Bandcamp’s global charts for both thrash (#1) and death metal (#3). The album earned widespread acclaim from outlets such as Unite Asia, Metal Injection, and Invisible Oranges, and was featured by Rolling Stone India as one of the top 10 Indian albums of 2021. States of Chaoswas also nominated for “Album of the Year” by Metal Injection, and recognized by Bandcamp as one of the best metal releases of November 2021.
Now, with a lineup consisting of Abbas Razvi (bass), Nikhil Rajkumar (drums), Moiz Mustafa (guitar), and Nangsan Lyngwa (vocals), Godless is already deep into the creation of their next record. The band has an upcoming India tour in 2025, followed by a return to Europe in April and May for more intense live performances that are sure to continue their ascent.
In a genre where innovation is often as prized as tradition, Godless stands out by staying true to the roots of death metal, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of their sound. The chaos is only just beginning.
ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. Over the past 35 years, Sakis Tolis, his brother Themis and their brothers-in-arms have risen from Greece’s blackened catacombs to become one of metal’s most formidably reliable forces.
Backed by a legacy that has both defined and defied black metal, last year, the Greek legends carved out a new set of dark, melodic scriptures with fresh rebellion on the unbreakable Pro Xristou.
“…this is the most arena-worthy Rotting Christ have been in some time”, No Clean Singingwrote about their latest album.
Now, Rotting Christ are celebrating 35 years of evil existence with a new live album. This two-hour set was recorded at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in the band’s hometown of Athens. Like a Greek pantheon, it spans the band’s entire career, from early evil classics to the pillars of their Hellenic legacy, including the stadium-shaking title track from their spirited eleventh album.
Watch Rotting Christ perform “Κατά τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού” Live in Lycabettus:
Started yesterday, Rotting Christ are bringing Pro Xristou to Brazil for the very first time.
The Greek titans will perform instant classic “Like Father, Like Son”, plus other new songs and fan favorites from Rotting Christ’s mighty discography during the Pro Xristou Over Brazil tour.
“Dear brothers and sisters”, Rotting Christ write to their Brazilian legion. “We are proud to return to your land come February for 10 shows in 10 different cities, from the Rio Grande do Sul to Rio de Janeiro. We will perform a special setlist just for you to celebrate our 35 years as a band. Until then…keep the true Brazilian Metal Spirit alive!”.

Pro Xristou is bound to hold a revered place in the Rotting Christ’s heretical history. Always true to their name, the band’s fourteenth album – which, in English, means “Before Christ” – pays tribute to the last of the Pagan kings by offering up more towering, gothic, melodic black metal.
“Our new album was inspired by the might of ancient pagan wisdom”, says frontman Sakis Tolis. “It’s a tribute to those who resisted the coming of Christianity, which destroyed all the values, traditions and knowledge of the ancient world”.
Later this spring, Rotting Christ are blessing Europe on The Unholy Trinity Tour with Behemoth and Satyricon. Then this summer, the band will return stateside for an exclusive performance at Milwaukee Metalfest.

In the dimly lit catacombs of extreme metal, one name stands as a monolith: ROTTING CHRIST. Sakis Tholis and his brother Themis started this band together back in 1987. In the three decades since, these Greek titans have left their blackened imprint all over the metal world. They’ve released 13 studio albums and played more than 1,300 concerts around the globe. Underneath all this hard work, Rotting Christ have but one vision – an urge to not only push the boundaries of extreme metal, but to keep reinventing themselves along the way.
Rotting Christ’s evolution has unfolded across several distinct chapters. After starting out closer to the barely controlled chaos of grindcore, they went on to establish the iconic sound of Hellenic black metal. Their albums often embrace refined gothic soundscapes, only to plunge back into the depths of blasphemous fervour. Each chapter marked another, further exploration, and an unwavering commitment to push boundaries.
But the real turning point came in 2007, when Rotting Christ signed a pact with Season of Mist. They unleashed a series of albums for the French label that defied any and all expectations. From the piercing Theogonia and the symphonic grandeur of Aelo to the ritualistic intensity of Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού, the cinematic experiences created by Rotting Christ became a spectacle of bombastic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements. The unexpected is their modus operandi, with the use of various languages (Latin, Arabic, Greek, English) as well as the extensive use of famous poetry woven into their music, like Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ on The Heretics.
In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristou. Pro Xristou (‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.

Since 2016, the quartet around the enchanting frontwoman Tamara Amedov has been casting musical visions in steel. Melody meets heaviness, orchestra meets driving rhythm and the whole thing is always spiced up with a touch of oriental charm, a hint of sex appeal and rounded off with skillful playfulness.
If you like female fronted symphonic metal, you will love Visionatica. The virtues of well-known role models are skillfully and extremely independently packaged in a fresh guise that inspires and captivates.
Knogjärn’s new album “BLY” is, as the name suggests (bly is Swedish for lead), their heaviest album to date, packed with deliciously brutal metal that tears at both soul and ears.
“BLY” is an album full of contrasts. An album where pounding basslines meet playful guitar riffs, and where the lyrics are infused with a mischievous irony while at the same time addressing serious themes such as loneliness, grief, and anger.
Through their songs, Knogjärn encourages the listeners to take control of their own lives and make conscious choices for the future. In a chaotic and overexposed world dominated by unrest, it’s easy to just follow the herd. For Knogjärn, it’s crucial to be aware of one’s actions and the consequences they might bring, and they encourage their listeners to think and take action.
Throughout their career, Knogjärn has become known for their unique blend of melodic hard rock and aggressive metalcore. The band has an exceptional ability to balance the brutal with the melodic, giving their songs a depth that appeals to both the mind and the heart.
Whether it’s a deafening wall of sound or a more subtle, emotionally charged passage – they ensure that every riff, scream, and beat leaves a lasting impression. The result is an album filled with an explosive mix of raw energy and emotional weight that have earned them a steadily growing base of dedicated fans.
“BLY” has no specific lyrical theme or concept, but the band has drawn inspiration from contemporary tragedies and conflicts, personal experiences, and – not least – humanity’s boundless stupidity.” – Knogjärn
CREDITS All the tracks on “BLY” were written by Knogjärn, except Farväl, which was co-written by Knogjärn and Anton Näs, and Kärleken väntar, written by Joakim Berg. The album was recorded with producer Oscar Nilsson at Bohus Studios. Thomas “Plec” Johansson at Panic-Room Productions mastered the album, while the artwork and design were created by Carl Stjärnlöv.

Pumping up the listener and turning everyone into a true Swedish Hard Rock fan.
Since the start in 2015, Knogjärn has delivered nothing but sonic raging anger with an unapologetic, IN-YOUR-FACE attitude. The foursome drops super-charged records, but they hit even harder when on stage: “We want you to like our live performance even if you don´t like our music”, the band states.
Their records are the testimony that Knogjärn always give 100%!
Hard’n’heavy riffs with raging vocals and explicit lyrics speak beyond their vernacular, beloved by their ever-growing crowd of fans.
