Speaking about the drop, vocalist Yukina commented: “This time it’s a HANABIE. style hero song! Reminiscent of a bit of those heroes and girl warriors…and magic tales…that we adored as a kid. It’s a powerful, dark and chaotic song! We hope to be your hero! Please have fun listening to every bit of the intricate sounds in this song.”
Italian goth metal legends, Lacuna Coil, are proud to unleash a new single, Hosting the Shadow. After their successful collaboration with Ash Costello of New Years Day on their latest singleIn The Mean Time, the new track Hosting the Shadow comes with none other than Randy Blythe from the mighty American band, Lamb of God.
Lacuna Coil adds about the new single and collaboration with Randy: “‘Hosting the Shadow’ is a trip through light and dark, where silence reveals its hidden secrets. Obscure moments can become occasions to evolve, to learn to master one’s own shadow – which is crucial in order to prevail. Randy Blythe did an incredible job on this track, we absolutely adore his voice and his evil laugh! Our admiration for him is infinite and to have him as a guest on this song is a dream come true. Partnering with a friend you respect immensely, that also kicks ass on stages around the world: it doesn’t get any better than this. We’re looking forward to the day we can perform ‘Hosting the Shadow’ live together!”
The appreciation for the collaboration is more than mutual. Randy Blythe adds: “I was super excited when Lacuna Coil asked me to sing on a song with them – not only am I a big fan of their music, they are truly beautiful souls who have been like family to me for 20 years now. We’ve played shows together all over the world, and I’ve always wanted to jump onstage and sing with them – I can’t wait until it actually happens with ‘Hosting the Shadow’!”
The Metal Voice recently spoke to Former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes about his upcoming Scandinavian and U.K. Tours.
Holmes was also asked how he felt about the current line-up of W.A.S.P. touring the debut album in its entirety.
When asked about the 40 year anniversary all W.A.S.P. setlist for Scandinavian tour “These shows are completely different. I haven’t done this in years. I am not singing those shows. I’m playing on the normal side that I play (on stage). I got a guy called Sleazy (guitarist) who is taking the Randy (Piper) side doing exactly what Randy did. And our bass player is in the middle singing and we are doing the “London Lyceum’ (W.A.S.P. video Recorded at London’s Lyceum on 24th October 1984) songs. Except School Days and The Flame I took those out and put ‘Wild Child’ and ‘9-5 Nasty’ and ‘I don’t need no doctor’. And I’m going to play what I did in the Live Lyceum (in London) show 40 years ago. Kind of what Blackie is doing, Blackie is doing the first record. I’m not. I’m doing the live Lyceum show without all the torture and blood and stuff (production ). But we are going to do the songs. Another song we put in there is ‘Blind In Texas’ which was not on the Lyceum (performance) but I put that in too. Also the last song will be Rockin in the Free World (cover) at the end which i always do. These shows coming up will be something I have never done. I am only doing it in Scandinavia. When I get back to London (U.K. Tour) I will be doing the Mean Man stuff (setlist).
When asked how he feels about Blackie going out and performing the debut album ‘More power to him if he can. You gotta understand the singing on there is not nice and pretty he is screaming the whole time over every song except for Sleeping in the fire. Hey more power to him if that is what people want to hear or see, more power to him.”
Upcoming W.A.S.P. 40 year anniversary songs On Your Knees Wild Child Hellion L.O.V.E. Machine Sleeping (In The Fire) Tormentor ‘9-5 Nasty The Torture Never Stops I Wanna Be Somebody Animal (Fuck Like A Beast) I don’t need no doctor Blind in Texas Keep on Rockin in the free world

A DHP Presentation by Arrangement with N&P Touring
Beth Hart is as real as it gets. In a music industry full of glossy production and airbrushed photoshoots, this is one artist who throws down her cards, shares her darkest secrets and invites you to join her for the ride.
New fans might know Beth as the all-conquering global icon, dubbed “extraordinary” by The Times and “daring, brooding and angry” by The Guardian. But to understand her rollercoaster backstory, you need only read the War In My Mind lyric sheet.
Hart is recognized as one of her generation’s most talented voices. She has sold out tours worldwide, including performances at historic venues such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. She’s topped the Billboard charts six times, gone double platinum and had a string of Top 10 charting albums across Europe.
The Grammy-nominated powerhouse vocalist Beth Hart took on one of her most profound undertakings to date by channelling the legendary voice of Robert Plant on A Tribute To Led Zeppelin. The nine-track album highlights the incredible musical spectrum that Led Zeppelin operated in.
All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle… the voice. Things clicked into place when Cavallo was producing Hart’s previous album, War In My Mind (2019), and she did an impromptu version of “Whole Lotta Love” in the studio. He later asked about doing a whole record. Beth said, “I’m not doing this whole album. To do Zeppelin, you’ve got to be pissed off to hit that right. I can’t go there; I’ve worked years to put my rage away. “She continues, “then the pandemic and all the things around it hit. So now I’m pissed off. I called my manager and said, have Rob and Doug send me all the music because I am ready to do this. “If you were to rewind, you could say the story for a Led Zeppelin album started further back; in May 2004 Hart prowled the stage at the Paradiso in Amsterdam for an incendiary performance of “Whole Lotta Love”. The song became a semi-regular fixture in her setlist over the years, including a memorable performance with Slash.
At 51 – and proud of it – Beth is basking in a golden period. The success of her last original album, War In My Mind, followed by the incredible Led Zeppelin tribute, have garnered yet more critical acclaim, growing sales and sold-out shows. But as the singer reminds us, her life has always moved in cycles–”things get good then go to crap, get good then go to crap”–and it’s in these extremes that many of her best songs are born.

September 13, 2024 will see Belgian death metal act MORDKAUL unleash their forthcoming, new studio album “Feeding The Machine” via Massacre Records. Available as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, you can pre-order your album copy at: https://lnk.to/feedingthemachine
Following the previously-released track “They Burn”, today, MORDKAUL are sharing a music video for their latest single “Shadowlord”, featuring a guest guitar solo by James McIlroy (ex-Cradle Of Filth)! Frontman Tommy Goffin reveals:
“Based on the life of Marquis De Sade, the Shadowlord is a power hungry, lust driven and masochistic noble man that acts above the laws of men. Ever on the lookout for women to abuse in every possible way, he is fully corrupt and has no sinecure whatsoever. Eventually he will meet his timely death but will live on in the memories of mankind as the Shadowlord.
And here we dive into the moshpit again. Up-tempo drums and kick ass riffs are complemented by two insane solos after which the song pace drops with an integrated sample opening up into the ending chorus “Purgatory is where the Shadowlord is crowned”.”
MORDKAUL’s upcoming album rager “Feeding The Machine” was recorded in two parts. The first half of the album was recorded at Project Zero Studio in the summer of 2022, the second half at the legendary Galaxy Studios in the summer of 2023, while mixing and mastering was handled by Dan Swanö. The band’s new album will also feature guest appearances from such as James McIlroy (ex-Cradle Of Filth) and more.
Where the 2021 album “Dress Code: Blood” was heavily inspired by the iconic Swedish death metal sound of the 90’s, “Feeding The Machine” goes a step further than that. With wider influences of 90’s death metal acts like Morbid Angel and Death, “Feeding The Machine” hits even harder, and aims to elevate the band to new heights!
