The band recently issued the following update:
“That’s right, we are officially returning to the Hiro Ballroom in NYC for a very special CD Release Event. We’re celebrating the release of our new CD, Omertà, as well as our first performance with John Moyer! Tickets will go on sale later today. We’ll have a ticket link for you once it goes live so please check back here later!”
According to a press release: 2012 is shaping up to be some year for Adrenaline Mob. The band, featuring the powerhouse vocals of Russell Allen, the shredding guitar attack of Mike Orlando and the drumming virtuosity of Mike Portnoy, just found the missing piece their lineup needed. John Moyer, half of the rhythmic backbone of multi platinum rock juggernauts Disturbed, is stepping in to fill the recently vacated bass player spot. They all got together and after one jam session, the band knew they had found the newest member of the family. John will be making his on-stage debut with Adrenaline Mob on March 12th when they play their record release event at Hiro Ballroom in New York City.
Says Moyer: “Mike Portnoy called me about auditioning for his new band Adrenaline Mob. He had heard through the grapevine that I was looking to stay busy while Disturbed is on hiatus. After jamming with Russ, MO, and Portnoy, the chemistry as musicians was undeniable. I am super stoked about joining “The Family” and I can’t wait to hit the road with these guys and see what kind of musical mayhem we can create!”
Adrenaline Mob will release their debut full-length album, Omertá, on March 13th. Serving as the follow-up to Adrenaline Mob’s self-titled EP, Omertá will be released in North America by the newly formed Elm City Music in conjunction with EMI Label Services. Century Media Records has announce a licensing deal to release the album on March 19th in Europe.
Omertá was produced by Adrenaline Mob and mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER), and will feature the following 11 songs:
‘Undaunted’
‘Psychosane’
‘Indifferent’
‘All On The Line’
‘Hit The Wall’
‘Feelin’ Me’
‘Come Undone’ (DURAN DURAN cover ft. Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM)
‘Believe Me’
‘Down To The Floor’
‘Angel Sky’
‘Freight Train’

On Wednesday, February 15 edition of the CBS program “The Talk”, which is co-hosted by Ozzy Osbourne‘s wife/manager Sharon, Sharon revealed the details of her sexy Valentine’s date with Ozzy (see video below). “He picked me up in a nice car that he was driving — and he rarely does that,” she said. “He took me to our favorite hotel, where he booked a room. And when we went in, the fireplace was on and there was a big bottle of pink champagne, ’cause he knows that pink champagne sends me crazy. [I will do] anything. I mean, I’m fearless when I’ve had that champagne. So, anyway, we rounded off the evening — after I’d drunk, ’cause my husband doesn’t drink, so I had all of it — and we played waitress and customer. . . I was the waitress, and as usual, we ended the dinner with a banana split.”
In a recent interview with Daily Star, Sharon, 59, revealed that she and Ozzy have sex all the time and and she even takes time off from “The Talk” to spend more time in the bedroom with the 63-year-old BLACK SABBATH frontman.
She said, “We make love all the time. We used to do it five times a week. I take breaks from my chat show to have sex.”
Sharon also said that she was surprised to receive “dirty texts” from Ozzy while he was touring Europe last year, as she believed he was unable to text.
“It’s good now because he’s texting,” she said. “So we’re texting each other all the time. I got a text from Ozzy yesterday and I’m like, ‘Jesus, somebody’s stolen his phone.’ Because I thought somebody found his phone and they were texting me dirty messages. And Silvana, my assistant, goes, ‘Oh my god, Ozzy‘s just sent you this really dirty text.’ And I’m like, ‘Well it’s not him, somebody must have stolen his phone, he can’t text.’ But it was him.”
Sonic Violence recently conducted an interview with guitarist Andreas Kisser of Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
On the departure of drummer Jean Dolabella, who played in SEPULTURA for five years (2006-2011):
Kisser: “[Before he made the made the decision to leave] he didn’t know what he wanted, really. I guess he didn’t have too much support from his house and family, so he decided to stay closer to them and do something else in music. Too bad he left the band with an unfinished job. We are still touring for [the latest SEPULTURA album] ‘Kairos’ and we have a lot to do this year. But he is an amazing musician, brought a lot of good stuff for SEPULTURA and I wish the best of luck in his new career… [It] was all good, we talked a lot, since the beginning of 2011 and after the MACHINE HEAD tour in South America he left. We had time to prepare the change without too much hassle.”
On SEPULTURA‘s new drummer, 21-year-old São Paulo native Eloy Casagrande:
Kisser: “Eloy was a suggestion from many friends. I knew him for a while, saw him playing with André Matos [ANGRA] and with his last band, GLÓRIA, but didn’t know how he would be playing SEPULTURA stuff, so we did an audition and he was amazing — really powerful with great technique. He is a young guy, but with some experience. He did a great tour with us last year and we are glad he’s with us now . . [He adds] lots of energy and motivation. Soon we will start writing some new material and let’s see what kind of ideas he can bring to the band.”
On how the Internet has affected how SEPULTURA and other bands promote their music:
Kisser: “I do not download music from the Net, I have no patience, but the Internet is here to stay and we have to deal with that. The good thing about it is that today you have more chances to show your music without being dependent on a label; the channel is open for anyone, and this is awesome — more freedom and less power to the labels. I think we are still on a transition phase; everything happened too fast, so we are still trying to adapt to this new scenario.”
On his relationship with his former SEPULTURA bandmates Max and Igor Cavalera:
Kisser: “I have an open channel to contact them, which is really cool, something that was totally closed some years ago. It’s nice to talk to them again without the pressure of working together.”
On whether Derrick Green will ever take up Max Cavalera‘s rhythm guitar position:
Kisser: “No, not really and why? Just because Max played guitar? I think is stupid to try to copy something that is not there anymore. We have to respect what we have, work with that, and not be a slave from the past. Derrick is not a thrash guitar player. He can play guitar, but not SEPULTURA‘s music. He’s using his abilities on percussion and he’s developing a really cool style on it.”
Holland doom death metallers ASPHYX have recently launched a brand-new video clip for the album’s title track “Deathhammer” via the Metal Hammer Germany website. You can watch the video on this location.
The “Deathhammer” video clip was shot earlier this month by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film, who had earlier worked with the band on the bonus DVD for the “Death…The Brutal Way” album release as well as for bands like Exodus, Masterplan, Kataklysm and many more.
“Yet another official Asphyx video, but this time slightly differently. A furious, “fast” clip with aggressive filming, which fits the song perfectly. This one was shot by Maurice of Legion Of The Damned and we knew that he could capture the spirit and intensity of the song 100%.And he did. The clip shows Asphyx in a true way….a band being themselves and doing their own thing. Enjoy!“ band posted.
