Metal Shock Finland has recently discovered that German power metal generators HELLOWEEN are working on their first book ever in the band’s career, to be entitled “Hellbook“, which is mentioned as the ‘Helloween bible’ on the band’s official website, thought not very visible there.
“Since 2005, the band’s steady line-up consists of Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Großkopf (bass), Sascha Gerstner(guitar) and Daniel Löble (drums). 2015 sees the band’s 30th anniversary featuring the publication of the first book in the band’s career ever. The downright ‘Helloween bible’ called “Hellbook” is guaranteed to become a sought after fan item as well as the only official reference book to date. ” That’s the only information that you can find on the HELLOWEEN website.
Metal Shock Finland ‘s Chief Editor, Mohsen Fayazi, recently conducted an interview with the band’s Bass Invader, Markus Grosskopf. “I don’t really know the time when it will come out but we are working on it and the details,” Markus said when he seemed to be surprised that we know about the book. He continues: “We are collecting stuff and pictures, old and new ones, then we can correct it. It will be a kind of history book with lots of pictures, but it is going to be a little surprise. But how do you know it?” (laughs)
This chat between Markus Grosskopf and Mohsen Fayazi, will be released early next week on Metal Shock Finland, so stay with us!
In February 2015, Peter “Peavy” Wagner and Victor Smolski of RAGE declared the end of their musical collaboration. Since André Hilgers also had to leave his place behind the drums, rumors were running high quickly and there was even talk about RAGE would call it quits. Though Peavy made it clear over and over again in interviews that the new line-up of the band was already positioned, the names of his new band mates remained untold.
Today, Nuclear Blast revealed the new line-up of RAGE, reads as follows:
With his current line-up, Peavy puts his trust in relative newcomers this time. „There were quite a couple of proposals from established musicians, but this wasn’t what I was looking for“, comments Wagner. „I wanted to have a real band again with all members pulling in the same direction“.
Marcos Rodriguez was born in Venezuela and is living currently in Antwerpen, Belgium. The 36-year old exceptional guitarist is a die-hard fan of RAGE and met Peavy on RAGE’s 30th anniversary tour, when he was supporting parts of the tour with his own band SOUNDCHASER.
Vassilios „Lucky“ Maniatopoulos has so far primarily made an appearance as the vocalist of the band Tri State Corner. It’s only surprising to those who haven’t seen Lucky live yet with his „Bouzouki-Rockband“ that the former drum student and drum technician of ex-RAGE and now TRI STATE CORNER/REFUGE drummer Christos Efthimiadis and also long-time friend of Peavy and Chris is an excellent drummer himself.
„These two guys have literally inhaled RAGE their whole lives and can vividly feel it – I’m very much looking forward to herald a new era of RAGE together with them“, says Peavy.
The new line-up will be presented live to the public for the first time at Metal Hammer Paradise, Ferienpark Weissenhäuser Strand on November 14th, and thereafter on the RAGE “Black In Mind” tour this December, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the cult album “Black In Mind”.
The new studio album is about to be finalized and will be released in spring 2016.

“Tempora Infernalia” is the second full studio album from American classic doom rock/metal band, DEMON EYE. It’s like a piece of retro collage art, as the band used and mixed elements from 1970’s blues rock and 1980’s progressive rock with some classic heavy metal, spiced with a doomy atmosphere.
It starts with a blues rock & roll style guitar riff in the first song, ‘End Of Days’, which reminds me of Thin Lizzy. “Tempora Infernalia” is not all built by the elements from ancient rock music – the recent past and even recent heavy metal music are also a part of this second effort by DEMON EYE. Tracks such as ‘I’ll Be Creeping’ and ‘Poison Garden’ are Black Sabbathised with a dark atmosphere, accompanied by the heavy guitar and bass riffs, along with vocalist Erik Sugg whose vocals are very similar to Ozzy’s. The song ‘See The Signs’ is just like of rebirth of thrashy Metallica from the 1980’s era, an invasion of powerful guitar riffs with great solid thrash drums. But the track ‘Sons Of Man’ is a unique song in this album indeed, where the band tried to break out of the cocoon of the past and the result is heavy, strong and more up to date sounding metal music.
Although the cover art seems to be simple and a little boring but, having said that, the “Tempora Infernalia” album is like a crazy patchwork rock and metal quilt, with DEMON EYE using some elements and themes from legends such as Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Metallica, though in a professional manner, without copying them.
Rebooted UK thrash legends ACID REIGN have recently unveiled the cover art for ‘Plan Of The Damned’, their first single in 25 years. Featuring the image ‘Delusion Dwellers’ by acclaimed artist Laurie Lipton, ‘Plan Of The Damned’ will be launched in July 2015.
ACID REIGN will be announcing a ‘classic back catalogue’ tour in the near future, although ‘Plan Of The Damned’ will definitely be included, that will keep the band busy until late 2016!
Front man H had this to say about ‘Plan Of The Damned’ and the honour of having Laurie Lipton cover art: “I have been a fan of Laurie’s for years and I thought I’d fire off an email to her manager to see if there was any way she would even consider letting us use one of her pieces. Half an hour and three emails later from Laurie herself and she had given us permission! To say that we are happy with this would be a huge understatement; it captures the spirit of the song perfectly and is a stunning piece of art, as all of her works are. I know it sounds corny but for me this really is one of those “wow this is actually happening” moments. We couldn’t be happier with the way ‘Plan Of The Damned’ has turned out. We recorded it in Wales at Not In Pill Studios with the awesome team of Martyn “Ginge” Ford & Matt Bond (Slipknot, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Axewound etc…) The studio is under a boxing gym and the smell of sweat, aggression and metal is in the walls! We had a blast, it was a great experience.”
