At first glance, it seems an unlikely birthplace: a log cabin set deep within the Hardangerfjord of western Norway. A place of stillness, surrounded by the breathtaking majesty of the “Queen of the Fjords.” Hardly the soil from which a ferocious union of Death Metal and Jazz might rise – a sound Agabas call deathjazz.
The Norwegian six-piece band have announced the signing to Mascot Records (Calva Louise, Dinosaur Pile-Up, VOLA, THE HARA, Conquer Divide) and the release of their latest album Hard Angeras a Deluxe Edition on 5 March. The band will also be on tour in Europe through February and March with Avatar.
The sound is uncompromising. Mercilessly downtuned breakdowns collide with savage, unrelenting saxophone lines that refuse to play a supporting role. Blast beats tear forward, bass rumbles like shifting earth, and guttural Norwegian vocals are hurled straight at the listener. The influence of Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Gojira is unmistakable, but so too is the freeform intensity of John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and Miles Davis.— something distinctive, unruly, and entirely its own.
That depth is no accident. Between them – Sondre Sørensen Brønstad (Vocals), Oskar Myrseth (Guitar), Jarand Aga Baas (Guitar), Johan Jamtfall Eriksen (Bass), Alexander Dellerhagen (Saxophone) and Bjørn André Syverinsen (Drums) – hold jazz performance master’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees in music technology and musicology, and an academic seriousness that underpins the chaos. Singer Brønstad even wrote his master’s thesis on the history and cultural impact of mosh pits. These are musicians who understand both the tradition they draw from and the rules they are breaking.
Formed in Trondheim, once the Viking Age’s beating heart; a place where Kings ruled and war councils yielded power. Over 700km from Trondheim, the Hardangerfjord offered them a place of quiet reflection. Away from everyday noise, it allowed their minds to turn to larger questions — toward the uneasy sense that the world itself is turning another restless page in its long and troubled story. The world has changed, yet remains the same.
Themes of war and humanity coil themselves around their new album. The deluxe edition single ‘KILL’ explores a near-future dystopia where artificial intelligence erodes truth itself. The title comes from the Norwegian phrase Kunstig Intelligens Lager Liv (“Artificial Intelligence Creates Life”), forming an acronym KILL that feels both prophetic and unsettling.
For all the ferocity the band emits, Agabas radiate an unexpectedly inviting presence—black uniforms traded for Hendrix-style paisley, seriousness swapped for humour. Sondre commands the stage with warmth and infectious energy, breaking down the barrier between performer and crowd – instigating their infamous Saxpits.
The band documented their time in the cabin through a series of Instagram and TikTok reels, their humour and self-irony drawing in curious onlookers. Over 1.6 million views and 35,000 new followers later, Agabas had begun explaining deathjazz to people who wanted to understand it — and to those who didn’t.
From sweat-soaked clubs to grand theatres the band dive into the pit with their audience, turning spectators into collaborators. What unfolds is a thrilling juxtaposition: far from the blood-and-thunder chaos you might expect, Agabas delivers a flamboyant, cathartic, and overwhelming live experience—intense, loud, and immersive—where the saxophone reigns and bodies collide. This has taken them on a ride across Europe, through the UK and on tour with their heroes, Kvelertak.
They carve out humanity’s horrors on the album. ‘Jævla menneske’ translates as ‘Damn Human’ and features Jørgen Munkeby of Norwegian experimental metallers, Shining. “‘La Blodet Flomme’ dismantles the nonsensical logic behind conflict. “Are war crimes punished, or is it only genocide if you lose?” asks Brønstad.
But, above all, Agabas are intent on building community. Inclusivity is foregrounded at their shows and embedded in ‘Arv.’ “Join Agabas and help us create our legacy together,” Brønstad urges. “We stand together, against injustice.”
Myrseth explains further, “I think if you have something to say, you should say it. We’re making music and sharing it with the world and we want to build a community around that. We want to make it clear what our values are. It’s about inclusivity and love.”
Myrseth ponders their unique deathjazz sound, “We noticed intense, hard-hitting moments in jazz, like Coltrane in the ’60s, and thought, why not combine that with the heaviness of Meshuggah to create a new kind of hard?” Deathjazz is an unfamiliar hunger, and Agabas feeds it to you until your body dissolves into rhythm and your heart freezes, perfectly reshaped by the curve of a saxophone.

Legendary English rock supergroup Asia share today the new single “Only Time Will Tell”, taken from the upcoming live album “Asia – Live In England”, out on March 13, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl. Geoff Downes commented: “This was the second single from the first album in USA, but on this side of the Atlantic the label chose this as the first single, due to the trumpet fanfare intro and themes, which became a kind of 1980s perennial sound technique. ‘Only Time Will Tell” has always been a favourite to play live, as each member has a distinctive part to play”.
Asia is back and roaring in a new, exhilarating line-up! Recorded live on the first of three unforgettable nights at Trading Boundaries in Sussex, in April 2025, this release captures the band performing its iconic 1982 debut album “ASIA” in full, along with a selection of their greatest hits.
Featuring Geoff Downes (keys), Virgil Donati (drums – ex-Planet X), John Mitchell (guitars – Arena, It Bites etc.) and the astonishing Harry Whitley (on bass and vocals), this fresh incarnation of Asia brings both reverence for the classics and a thrilling new energy to the stage. The setlist includes fan favourites like “Heat Of The Moment”, “Only Time Will Tell”, “Sole Survivor”, “One Step Closer” and “Time Again”, alongside video-era and bonus tracks such as “Ride Easy”, “Video Killed The Radio Star”, “The Heat Goes On” and “Daylight” (video exclusive).
Geoff Downes said: “Revisiting the entire first ASIA album brought all the great memories flooding back from 43 years ago. In the studio with John, Steve, Carl and, of course, the great Mike Stone at the production helm. I think at the time we knew we’d made a good album but could not have predicted the enormous success that followed, that made the band a household name across the world, and particularly in America. That said, it was a result of much hard work and effort from everyone involved. So, when I had the opportunity to put together the live album with the current and fantastic line-up of ASIA and in collaboration with Frontiers Music, it was really a no-brainer”.
“I was reminded of what a collection of great songs and performances made up the album – variety and musical dynamics to the fore. When we recorded it again earlier this year, I was drawn to some of the less featured tracks and realized how much they played an important part of overall album, in addition of course to the signature tracks such as ‘Heat Of The Moment’, ‘Only Time Will Tell’ etc.”, he continued. “We did this for you, the fans, and hope you really enjoy hearing these songs in the live setting performed in their entirety once again and enjoy it as much as we did creating and performing it”.
With Asia’s legacy spanning over 40 years – from multi-million selling albums like “ASIA”, “Alpha”, and “Astra” to defining the sound of the MTV era – this new line-up proves that the Year of the Dragon is bringing the legendary songs to life for a whole new generation of fans.
This is just the first of three live releases from Trading Boundaries, each capturing a full classic album from their initial trilogy in concert in audio and video. Experience the magic of Asia, live, where past and present collide in a spectacular display of musicianship and passion.

VIAMAER is a space that was born out of silence — out of the moments when a person is left alone with themselves, with their own tension, fear, calm, and everything that comes between. It is a project that did not emerge from the need to create music, but from the need to express something that cannot be spoken in words.
Behind VIAMAER stands Krystian Jurkiewicz, though the project itself is not centered around a name. It is a way of capturing states a person goes through; a method of giving shape to the intangible yet deeply real. Sound became a natural tool — a place where emotions do not need to be explained, because they can be heard in melody, timbre, contrast, and the silence between notes.
The debut album “In lumine lunae” was created slowly, over two years, in the rhythm of life — at times accelerated, at times fractured, at times paused. This is not a collection of songs. It is a sequence of states in which Polish lyrics lead an intimate narration, while Latin titles open the material to a deeper, more symbolic dimension.
VIAMAER has no ambition to be everything for everyone. It is a project for those who listen not only with their ears, but also with their soul.
VIAMAER “In lumine lunae” is an emotional, raw, and spacious album blending blackgaze, post-black metal, and shoegaze.
Music for debut album was composed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Krystian Jurkiewicz. Cover artwork was done by Piotr Pryk. Album was released on January 29, 2026 in digital format and CD. Buy merch & music in physical format here ➡ link here.

German heavy metal act SONS OF ETERNITY return with their second full-length album “Human Beast”, set for release on March 27th, 2026 via Massacre Records on Mediabook CD, Limited Vinyl LP and digital formats.
Along with the album announcement, the band unveil the first single “Forever”, an uncompromising, uptempo heavy metal anthem that marks a powerful statement of intent and confirms the band’s forward momentum.
Following their debut album “End Of Silence”, “Human Beast” represents a clear evolution in sound and songwriting: heavier, sharper and more dynamic, while remaining firmly rooted in classic heavy metal traditions. Across nine tracks, SONS OF ETERNITY combine strong hooklines, driving riffs and memorable melodies with modern elements and refined arrangements.
The album opens with the track “Sons Of Eternity”, a confident midtempo anthem that sets the tone with its massive riffs and instantly memorable chorus. On the faster side, “Forever” delivers pure, no-compromise energy, capturing the spirit of unity between band and fans and standing as a dedicated tribute to everyone who has supported the band along the way.
Other highlights include the powerful metal ballad “When Fantasy Dies”, showcasing the band’s emotional depth, and the title track “Human Beast”, the heaviest cut on the album, featuring thrash-infused aggression and intense lyrical themes. Songs like “Resistance”, “Abyss Of Life” and “The Line“ add progressive nuances and atmospheric layers, expanding the album’s scope without sacrificing immediacy or impact.
Produced by Jonas Roßner and Sons Of Eternity at JRSound Studio, mixed by Jonas Roßner and mastered by Christoph Beyerlein at Separate Sound Studio, Human Beast is a focused and cohesive release that balances variety and identity with remarkable confidence.
With “Human Beast”, SONS OF ETERNITY deliver a bold and mature statement: a band aware of its roots, yet unafraid to push boundaries and evolve.

Today, Francis Rossi releases his brand-new solo album ‘The Accidental’ through earMUSIC.
While Rossi’s previous solo albums explored his love for acoustic ballads, vocal harmonies, and the blend of British rock with country influences, this album, Francis Rossi’s first in seven years, marks a true return to the energetic, guitar-driven sound that made him a legend with Status Quo. ‘For anyone who liked any of my solo albums previously’, says Francis Rossi, ‘…well, I’ve no idea what you’ll make of this one because it’s a real departure, but I love it. It’s loud, the guitars are right to the fore, and there are some great songs there.’
This new album finds Francis Rossi once more at the top of his game, with a searing yet thoughtful collection of rockers that will please anyone who likes their dose of heavy cut with melody and verve. ‘The Accidental’ was born from spontaneous studio sessions with guitarist Hiran Ilangantilike and co-producer Andy Brook, resulting in a vibrant album that sounds immediate, alive and free of expectations.
Kicking off with a flourish ‘Much Better’, the album segues into the ebullient ‘Go Man Go’, teeing up future classic ‘Push Comes To Shove’ and the plaintive yet strutting blues singalong of ‘Back On Our Home Ground’. By then the engine is well and truly running, and the highlights keep coming. The chug and chant and choppy chords of ‘Something In The Air (Stormy Weather)’ give way to the cantering ‘Picture Perfect’, which could only be a Rossi number. The long strides of ‘November Again’ distil a melancholy refrain into a catchy chorus, and the epic ‘Beautiful World’ channels vintage era Quo with enough guitar to get the balcony of the Glasgow Apollo bouncing again. ‘Time To Remember’ is built around a piano line and swaying melody and serves as a poignant and powerful coda to an extraordinarily strong set of new songs.
‘Much Better’, says Francis Rossi, ‘was the first track that we did, on that very first day, and maybe it set the positive tone for the whole album. There’s a happiness and joy here.’
‘The Accidental’ proves that amazing things unfold when an artist with an unrivalled track record is inspired to create new music – even after more than 50 years of success – by the sheer love of playing.
