The last CD output of the Austrian thrash/death band DARKFALL was some time ago. Their last release was the split EP “Thrashing Death Squad” with Mortal Strike in 2021. Nevertheless, the guys have not been idle in recent years, but have completed a well-filled live program in the clubs and festivals of Europe. The songwriting has also picked up speed again recently and a new album is being planned, even if we probably won’t see a release this year.
To bridge the waiting time until then, there is now a brand new track, “The Art Insane”, which is now available as a digital single and as a lyric video on YouTube and which is definitely a small foretaste of what the band is hatching in terms of new material. Check it out!
Finland’s I, Cursed, who combine angry and furious death metal and grindcore, will release a new as yet unnamed EP later this year. The EP will be released in cooperation with Finnish record labels Inverse Records & Meara Music which is also an agency and event producer based in Ulvila.
The second single ‘Death Pays It All’ is released today and the lyric video is available below.
The band comments: ” ”Death Pays It All”, the second single from the new I, Cursed EP to be released later this autumn. “Death Pays It All” continues what the first single from the upcoming EP, “Disfigurement”, offered in the form of furious death metal and grindcore. “Death Pays It All” is a dynamic and, to some extent, distorted melodic depiction of how the seductive call of death drives the mind down into the depths and darkness. “Death Pays It All” is complemented by a darkly soothing lyric video produced by Soft Neon Audiovisual.”
Combining angry and furious death metal and grindcore, I, Cursed, from the Pori / Ulvila area, is a brutal dredging of Ville-Veikko Laaksonen and Eero Haula, known from Atlases, Marto and Oceanwake, among others, which is fed to the Finnish metal scene in an atonal coldness. I, Cursed’s music is a mix of something old and familiar, the HM-2 sound of Swedish grind, and somewhat more modern and crushing production. The line-up of the band in July 2024 is completed by guitarist Nico Brander from Marto and drummer Arttu Leppänen from Atlases and Marto. FFO Coldworker, Gadget, Nasum & Rotten Sound.
ÁLAGHOM unleash “The Opening of Satori”in a powerful video performance, where each member steps into the spotlight with precision and intensity. Rooted in Mayan philosophy and Zen Buddhism, the track channels the band’s signature progressive metal energy—featuring Melisa Durán’s delicate vocals and 8-string guitar, Ricardo Esperón’s intricate 10-string work, and synth layers. A striking visual and sonic journey from their EP Return to the Beginner’s Mind, out via Wormholedeath Records.
The Mayan Spirit of Álaghom
Álaghom’s name, rooted in Mayan mythology, symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, reflecting the band’s mission to draw from the ancient Mayan worldview and Zen Buddhism to create music that resonates with universal themes of consciousness and growth. Their lineup includes Melisa Durán (vocals, 8-string guitar, synthesizer, bass) and Ricardo Esperón (9-string guitar, bass, piano, synthesizer, drums, and orchestral percussion), whose combined talents create a powerful and profound soundscape.

Álaghom’s influences span an extraordinary array of artists across genres, including Bach, Devin Townsend Project, Cynic, Iron Maiden, Death, and Dimmu Borgir, weaving classical inspiration with modern metal innovation.
Upon the success of their freshly released new album, Swedish thrash pioneers and purveyors THE HAUNTED are now sharing an official guitar and bass play-through for the song, “To Bleed Out.” The clip can be seen at THIS LOCATION.

Due to demand, critically acclaimed Texas based blues rock guitarist and vocalist Ally Venable has upgraded her Manchester show on October 14th from Gulliver’s to the Night & Day Cafe.
Ally’s October UK tour also include shows at Edinburgh, Voodoo Rooms (Oct 15), Nottingham, The Bodega (Oct 16), London, The Garage (Oct 17), and Sittingbourne, The Bourne Music Club (Oct 18).
Tickets for the Manchester, Nottingham and London show are available from alltickets.com. Tickets for the Edinburgh, Voodoo Rooms show are available HERE. Tickets for The Bourne Music Club in Sittingbourne are available from Gigantic.com.
Ally’s October 2025 UK tour follows hot on the heels of her sixth studio album Money & Power released by Ruf Records on April 18th. The album is available on vinyl, CD and digital HERE.
Watch the official music video for the title track single “Money & Power.”
“Money & Power is such a strong statement, especially for women,” says the award-winning Texas gunslinger of her Nashville-recorded album, on which Ally’s crack-squad band is joined by A-list guests Shemekia Copeland and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.
“All the songs on this album showcase the theme of what it truly means to be a force to be reckoned with. I want this record to wake people up,” continues Ally.
Money and power make the world go round. But in the right hands, music can be every bit as potent. Right now, on the heels of 2023’s acclaimed Real Gone – an album that hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and was still in contention a year later – Ally is rated amongst the best young singer-songwriters in American roots, saluted by Total Guitar magazine in its poll of Top 100 Blues Guitarists.
“With her heels, sequins and Les Paul growling on a leash, she’s one of Ruf’s most head-turning young artists,” wrote Classic Rock, “and while the instrumental prowess can be taken as read, Real Gone marks a growing maturity in the Texan’s songcraft.”
In February 2024, with the dust still settling from Real Gone, the Money & Power sessions saw Ally and producer/drummer Tom Hambridge push through the doors of Nashville’s famous Soundstage Studios. And while the studio band was strictly A-list, as always, Ally’s new songs are the real stars. That attitude is palpable on opener “Brown Liquor,” Ally’s battlecry decorated by a stinging guest guitar solo from the Mississippi hotshot Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram.
“Money & Power shouts to the masses,” she explains, “that women are not to be doubted in their ability to thrive in the world.”
Vital right to the end, Money & Power plays out with “Stepping Stone’s” earthy roar of empowerment, the shuddering, spooky, tremolo-soaked groove of “Feel That Sting,” and the dust-blown rocker “Unbreakable,” where Ally goes toe-to-toe with New York powerhouse Shemekia Copeland.
“That song spreads a message of women that have been oppressed,” she says, “to rise to the occasion and break above it all.”
Money & Power is a modern roots record that plays by its own rules and marches to the beat of its own drum. The same could be said for Ally herself. “I’m thrilled to release this album,” she says. “For me, it’s a sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition, and showcases my musicality on all fronts. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one will take me.”

POWERWOLF states: “We always knew that no words or short recap videos could truly capture what we experienced together during the Wolfsnächte 2024 tour. Every night was its own kind of magic – still, we wanted to find a way to hold on to those memories and share them in the most powerful way possible. That’s why we decided to record the full, massive, sold-out show at the Olympiahalle in Munich – to preserve just a piece of what we all felt on this tour. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than a live release. It’s a tribute and manifestation to the moments we created together.”
On Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), each song is visually reimagined with a changing digital stage set, timed effects, and theatrical elements: monks with torches, falling snow on a burning piano, and a fiery execution scene that rivals shock rock’s greatest icons.
