2025 is off to a rip-roaring start. After taking the high seas by storm last year with High on Fire, Weedeater are craving a taste of the open road. The veteran Carolina stoners are packing their pipes in preparation for a month-long roll across California, the Southwest and East Coast with Napalm Death and the Melvins.
God luck and good speed.

The time is now. CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD is back, fully ready for a new album release, with a renewed lineup and a newfound energy in their disco-AOR. The digital single (and video) that tease the upcoming record is titled “When It’s Over” – and is the perfect way to show people that the Captain is back!
“We chose this one as the first single because it has everything”, the band comments about the song. “A memorable chorus, 80s saxophone vibe, a cool breakdown, great guitar solo, and lots of keyboards. Oh, and if the vocals aren’t impressive enough, Fredrik is also playing the saxophone on this one”, they say.
Join the premiering here:
Like their Swedish countrymen The Night Flight Orchestra, Captain Black Beard grew up with the classic sound of bands such as Journey and Foreigner but found a way to take a renewed approach to it and own the AOR sound in such a bossy way that it draws the attention of a whole new generation of fans.
The development of the band sound over the last years and several albums and singles made the tag “disco AOR” stick to them, as a way to describe the incredible catchy and all-round composition and sound they achieved.
The ultimate expression of this “disco AOR” sound was, until now, the last Captain Black Beard album, “Neon Sunrise”, released in the Fall of 2022 via Mighty Music. Groovy drums, melodic guitars, lots of keyboards and melodic vocals to top it off and make your love for AOR – old or new – boil once again in your blood.
But now, with a revamped lineup, with includes new vocalist Fredrik Vahldren, the four-piece are ready to go even further… Are you ready for a joyride of melodic rock with a special Swedish touch?
Lineup: Robert Majd – bass Fredrik Vahlgren – vocals Daniel Krakowski – guitar Vinnie Strömberg – drums
Italian masters of modern melodic metal TEMPERANCE have spellbound their symphonic magic into a thrilling live album, From Hermitage To Europe, out March 14, 2025 via Napalm Records! Captured during the band’s latest extended tour supporting their album Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2 (2023), the new live recording brings the magical village of Hermitage and fan favorites to life!
Now featured for the first time in live recording form, this story was first explored on the aforementioned full-length studio album, which has since also been released in its orchestral version, featuring many renowned guests such as Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie) and Laura Fella (Faun).
Known for their vocal harmonies, the first single, “Daruma”, is a gift to symphonic lovers, where melodic guitar passages collide with a galloping drum beat. TEMPERANCE’s Michele Guaitoli takes us into their magical world, while his vocal comrade-in-arms Kristin Starkey heats up the tension with her dark timbre. This live recording serves as the perfect prelude to their highly anticipated 2025 European tour, with melodic death metal giants Ignea and symphonic powerhouse Induction.
Marco Pastorino on “Daruma”: “It’s been years since our only live release, and the time has come to publish material with our current lineup. For the first time, you’ll be able to listen to some of our most renowned tracks in their live versions – such as “Of Jupiter And Moons,” “Diamanti,” and “The Last Hope In A World Of Hopes,” while also including some of the most beloved songs from our latest album, Hermitage, after spending a year on the road supporting it.
For this reason, we have chosen to release ‘Daruma’ as the first single, marking the first track released with our Kristin Starkey.
We will celebrate the release of From Hermitage To Europe alongside our European headlining tour!”
Rousing guitar riffs, epic orchestrations and powerful vocal duets are a welcome gift for symphonic metal lovers, now captured for the afterworld. While “The Last Hope in a World of Hopes” combines gripping melodies and choral vocals, their stunning live performance can also be witnessed in “Darkness Is Just a Drawing” – fans will experience one of the band’s most magical compositions, shining with masterful vocal harmonies. The palpable energy on fan-favorites like “Diamanti” and “Of Jupiter And Moons“ showcase the band’s extraordinary musical atmosphere.
Michele Guaitoli about the album: “The last years have been a rollercoaster of emotions. TEMPERANCE have grown on every level and have been traveling the world, having the honor of performing in Europe, the UK, the US and South America.
Those who follow us are well aware that from “Of Jupiter and Moons” to “Hermitage”, we’ve faced a relevant line-up change. We felt it was fundamental to let our listeners understand who TEMPERANCE is nowadays, as the arrival of Kristin during the EU tour as special guests for Tarja had a strong impact on the sound of the band, thanks to her unique (and outstanding) voice.
From Hermitage To Europe gives justice to what you are going to witness live in March during our headline run, and most importantly, sets in stone the essence of this new cycle of TEMPERANCE, which we want to be a cycle of rebirth.”
From Hermitage To Europe tracklisting: 1. Intro (live) 2. Daruma (live) 3. The Last Hope in a World of Hopes (live) 4. No Return (live) 5. A Hero Reborn (live) 6. Welcome To Hermitage (live) 7. Brazilian progressive metallers Maestrick are thrilled to share their new single and accompanying video “Lunar Vortex”, featuring Roy Khan, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.
After the symphonic synthwave of “Ethereal” and the prog-meets-Tim Burton vibes of “Upside Down”, Maestrick is embracing modern metal in their new single “Lunar Vortex”. Influenced by artists like Architects, Caligula’s Horse and Skrillex, the track features downtuned riffs contrasting with electronic tones, clean and screamed vocals (a first for Maestrick), and brings a very special guest in Roy Khan (Conception, ex-Kamelot) in a beautiful duet with Fabio Caldeira. This is the first time Roy appears in a video that’s not of his own band.
Vocalist Fábio Caldeira comments: “Roy was a big influence on how I wrote the melodies for this song, so when the opportunity to have him in the album became a reality, we knew it would work very well. He delivered an emotional and energetic performance, both vocally and in the video. We couldn’t be happier with the result.”
“While I was in Brazil, last year, I hooked up with my friends from Maestrick to record “Lunar Vortex” with them. Wonderful people and awesome song. I hope everyone enjoys it!”, adds Roy Khan.
Founded in São José do Rio Preto/SP by three friends, Maestrick have been active since 2006 and bring in their sound elements of rock and progressive heavy metal, Brazilian regional music, world music and classical music.
The band have released two albums in Brazil, Europe, United States and Japan, and are recognized for drinking from different artistic aspects – cinema, plastic arts, visual arts and literature – for their compositions, which results in a unique and, according to specialized critics, innovative style.
Not surprisingly, Maestrick captivates movie fans, notably those of Tim Burton, George Méliès, Guillermo del Toro, and Christopher Nolan. In music, it attracts listeners of both modern rock/metal, such as Muse, and also of more niche styles within metal, such as Dream Theater, Haken, Jinjer, Spirit Box, and classics like Queen, Yes, and Gentle Giant.
Their songs address everyday complex themes of human nature. The album “Espresso Della Vita: Solare”, from 2018, was rated by BURRN!, one of the most respected music publications in the world, with a score of 86/100 – quite high for the publication’s standard. Solare’s success led to a tour of Europe with nine shows in Switzerland, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Line Up: Fábio Caldeira – Lead Vocal/Piano, Synths and Orchestrations Guilherme Carvalho – Guitars/Vocal Renato “Montanha” Somera – Bass/Vocal Heitor Matos – Drums and Percussion/Vocal
In the final countdown to the release of their highly anticipated studio album “The World Was Never Enough,” Swedish alternative metal band DAYS OF JUPITER are ramping up the excitement with a new music video. The album, set to be released on February 7, 2025 through RPM, promises to be a pivotal moment for the band.
Today, DAYS OF JUPITER released the music video for ‘Parazite,’ the last single from their upcoming album. The track showcases the band’s signature sound with revelling guitar tones and the raw, unmistakable vocals of lead singer Janne Hilli. The music is underpinned by straightforward yet powerful riffing and drumming, setting the stage for a hard-hitting exploration of toxic relationships. ‘Parazite’ not only narrates an intense personal struggle but also offers a cathartic release with its captivating chorus, resonating deeply with listeners.
Lyricist Robert Hilli comments: “Embrace yourselves for a hard-hitting and contagious song called ‘Parazite.’ It has fantastic melodies and is an incredibly catchy song with world-class vocals that explore the issues of manipulation, loyalty, betrayal and relationships, where the feeling of melancholy and abandonment is always present.”

With over 20 million streams on Spotify and widespread critical acclaim across four studio albums, DAYS OF JUPITER‘s journey began in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden in 2010. Their debut album, “Secrets Brought To Life” [2012], marked their entrance onto the global stage, followed by a performance at the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival. Their albums “Only Ashes Remain” and “New Awakening” helped expand their reach, landing them more live performances, including international shows. The band eventually supported DISTURBED in front of 10,000 fans in Estonia following the release of their fourth album, “Panoptical” [2018].
Now, with a strong new partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), DAYS OF JUPITER are back with their upcoming fifth album, aiming to please their loyal fanbase and attract new metal fans worldwide.

Conquer Divide have just revealed their latest single, “Bad Dreams” featuring Michigan metalcore heroes Of Virtue. The single drops ahead of their U.K. and European tour dates with New Years Day from 21 January – 1 February and then with Ankor from 7 February to 16 March. You can get tickets here. Listen to “Bad Dreams” HERE.
The song combines Conquer Divide’s ability to mix luscious and captivating vocals and hooks with their crushing intensity, both musically and lyrically, on this introspective slab of inner turmoil, which is complemented by Of Virtue’s vocalists Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate’s melodic turned raging contributions.
Talking about the personal tones of the song, guitarist Izzy Johnson says,”We are stoked to bring the next era of Conquer Divide with our new song “Bad Dreams ft Of Virtue”. Lyrically it touches on the feeling of wanting nothing more than to succeed but being sabotaged by your own thoughts. Analysis paralysis is real and creates cycles that sometimes feel unbreakable, something that we have all individually experienced. Just like our other songs Paralyzed, Pressure and N E W H E A V E N (that also have introspective themes), we hope this song is something our listeners can relate to and find comfort in. Big thanks to the guys in Of Virtue who made the song come alive, we are blessed to create music alongside such talent.”
Of Virtue’s Tyler Ennis adds, “I’ve been a fan of Conquer Divide ever since I heard Messy. It’s an absolute honor being asked to bring both our bands together on their newest single and we’re excited for it to finally be released!”
They recently had two recordings that are having wide success at the US Active Rock format. First, a new version of the band’s hit “Paralyzed” (featuring Attack Attack!); which became the band’s first entry on the Billboard charts, and re-release of alt-rockers 10 Years hit “The Optimist” which featured Conquer Divide’s Kia, ahead of the two bands touring the US together in October.
In January 2025, Conquer Divide will return to Europe and the UK for a tour with New Years Day between the 21st of January and the 1st of February. Right after, the band will appear with Ankor starting on February 7 in Cologne, and will call through Germany, The Netherlands, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and will finish on March 16 in Kortrijk, Belgium.
A Deluxe Edition of their most recent album ‘Slow Burn’ was released digitally on 27 September and featured an additional six recordings. Three of these are from Sirius XM Octane’s Next Wave Concert Series, which are “Bad Guy,” “Atonement,” and “Paralyzed.” Alongside “Paralyzed (Featuring “Attack Attack!),” “Only Girl” (Acoustic), and “80 Proof.”
The band hailing from the U.S., U.K. and Canada have made a steady progression from their melodic metalcore inspired roots, maturing into a formidable hard rock act, nearing the end of their first decade together. In 2020, they returned to the studio with 2x Grammy nominated producer Tyler Smyth (Falling in Reverse, I Prevail) and 4x RIAA certified gold record producer Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men) and began recording of SLOW BURN.
SLOW BURN picked up multiple playlisting including All New Metal, Rock Hard, The Core, Heavy Queens, Kickass Metal, New Nu and more. They picked up multiple BBC Radio 1 plays alongside playlisting at Kerrang! Radio, Kerrang! TV and Primordial Radio. “Paralyzed” was one of the Metal Hammer 2023 tracks of the year with the album also being amongst the ‘Albums of the Year.’ They’ve picked up support from Rock Sound, Distorted Sound, Alternative Press, Revolver, GuitarWorld, SXM Octane, Loudwire and more. The album has now exceeded 40 Million cumulative streams.
Conquer Divide are Kiarely Taylor (vocals), Kristen Sturgis (guitar), Izzy Johnson (guitar) and Sam Landa (drums).
