Expect a breathtaking fusion of epic storytelling and heavy metal, where gods and mortals collide in a symphony of sound.
Packed with atmospheric intensity and powerful lyrics, “creep.” weaves a narrative of self-reflection and resilience, all wrapped in THROATCUT.‘s signature blend of crushing riffs and emotive melodies. The single stands as a testament to the band’s ability to confront heavy emotional themes while delivering an unforgettable sonic experience.
“‘creep.’ is about the voice, or rather the person in your head, that lurks in the shadows and constantly follows you,” the band explain. “It criticizes you, makes you doubt yourself, and tries to take control. But instead of ignoring it, the song emphasizes the importance of awareness and acceptance. Reflecting on yourself and co-existing with this voice can help make it quieter.“

Long running Italian post-hardcore and noise punk band STORMO has today announced their forthcoming fifth album, Tagli/Talee, which is set for release on March 21 via Prosthetic Records. Alongside the album announcement, STORMO has shared the lead single and accompanying music video, Kallitype. Kallitype comes ahead of the groups debut UK tour dates – with full details below.
Speaking on the album announcement, STORMO‘s Luca Rocco (vocals) comments: “This album is about cuts; about the importance of making room for things to grow. It’s a record that speaks about paying attention to what’s around you, about staying silent and observing your self that mirrors the world around you. It’s about the importance of taking care of the empty spaces we fear most, because in those spaces something can blossom if we give it a chance.”
Of Kallitype, Rocco adds: “Kallitype was written on a ferry between Denmark and Norway during our spring tour in April 2024. With its screamo touch, it’s one of the songs I’m more attached to on this new record. Metaphorically referring to plants as we did in the artwork and in the album title, we could say we chose to start presenting this new record from a new fresh leaf, but there’s also thorns and roots that go down deep.”
Following the release of their well received 2023 full-length, Endocannibalismo, STORMO undertook an extensive touring schedule of Europe across their native Italy and the mainland over the course of a year which culminated in an appearance at the revered Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, NL. Having developed a live reputation for relentless intensity akin to first wave screamo, possessing noise rock’s angularity and black metal speed, Tagli/Talee was written exclusively whilst travelling across the continent.
Tagli/Talee’s focus on cuts and grafts symbolically collages and embodies the transient surroundings and characters that has filled their last few years, with Norway’s extreme metal scene seeping into their sonic assault on tracks such as Tagli, Kallitype and the fraught closer Come Fauce Che Divora. The pacing and structure of the songs themselves also inspired by their contemporaries whilst on the road, with vocalist Luca Rocco taking a keen interest in unifying the sequencing of a live set to that of the band’s recorded output.
Recording duties once again were placed in the hands of Diego Castioni at Cabot Cove, Bologna, ahead of mixing and mastering being handled by Maurizio Baggio. Further dissonant noise flourishes were added during and after recording, with Castion providing sound textures to Sabbia Pt. II and Alberto Bertelli (aka Holy Similaun) on Come Fauce Che Divora, adding a kinetic viscerality to proceedings. Art for Tagli/Talee was delicately crafted by Massimo Spadari, combining lithograph, etching and linocut processes to the piece in painstaking detail.
With Tagli/Talee, STORMO continue to carve out their own unique approach to punk as an umbrella term, with explosive repercussions, ahead of debut UK touring in early 2025 and their eyes set on bringing Tagli/Talee to the stage with their idiosyncratic volatility.
Tagli/Talee tracklist: 1. Tagli 2. Sabbia 3. Sabbia pt.2 Ghiaccio 4. Kallitype 5. Sciame 6. Rami 7. Talee 8. Bordi 9. Riva 10. Alte Mura 11. Come Fauce Che Divora
Upcoming STORMO tour dates: January 15 – Nice N Sleazy – Glasgow, UK January 16 – The Chapel – Nottingham, UK January 17 – The Tin Music and Arts – Coventry, UK January 18 – Moor Brewery – Bristol, UK January 19 – Reality Unfolds Festival – London, UK
STORMO is: Luca Rocco – Vocals Michael Barletta – Guitar Federico Trimeri – Bass Stefano Rutolini – Drums
Italian melancholic dark metal SHORES OF NULL announces they will be unraveling a live album for May 2025. Enitled “Beauty Over Europe” the live record features 10 tracks that were recorded during their monumental 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium. Throughout that tour, Shores of Null performed 35 shows across 18 countries, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Hungary, bringing their critically acclaimed album “The Loss Of Beauty” to the stage.
The live recordings, captured in the cities of Leipzig, Munich, Aschaffenburg, Budapest, and Belfast, preserve the raw and emotive energy of their performances. Each track reflects the band’s ability to blend melancholic melodies with crushing heaviness, offering fans a visceral live experience.
“Beauty Over Europe” is both a celebration of the tour and a gift to all fans of the band. Exactly two years after that unforgettable journey, this live albumoffers a chance to relive the emotional intensity and true essence of Shores Of Null’s live performances.
Guitarist Gabriele Giaccari comments:
“This tour was an incredible journey, the longest in our career, and a true milestone for Shores Of Null. As the promotional tour for The Loss Of Beauty, our latest and most acclaimed album to date, it was an honor to bring these songs to life across 35 shows in 18 countries. Sharing the stage with monumental bands like Swallow The Sun and Draconian—huge inspirations for our music—was unforgettable. Despite the melancholy of their sound, they’re some of the most fun and genuine people we’ve met, and by the end of this epic journey, we were proud to call them friends.
We owe special thanks to our incredible crew—Petri, Matti, Mikko, and Tero—who ensured everything ran seamlessly and made this experience unforgettable. To pay homage to this extraordinary chapter, we decided to produce a live album. Recorded during key moments of the tour, it captures the essence of these unforgettable performances and is dedicated to all the people who supported us live and shared these magical moments with us.”
Today, Shores of Null shares a live video clip from their tour stop in Aschaffenburg, Germany performing “The Last Flower”.

“The Loss of Beauty” is Shores Of Null’s fourth album and follows the acclaimed “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, unanimously considered by fans and critics as one of the Doom Metal gems of recent years. The lyrics celebrate beauty in imperfection and transience and are meant to be an invitation to seek beauty in little things, especially those unexpected and ephemeral.
Stylistically, “The Loss of Beauty” continues along the sulcus set forth by “Quiescence” and “Black Drapes For Tomorrow”, its melancholic dark metal with a wide range of influences, from gothic metal to doom metal and melodic black/death metal, with frequent use of vocal harmonies and deep growls.
The album consists of 13 songs, while the LP version only contains 11, the two extra tracks are bonus tracks that can be found on the CD version as well as on the streaming platforms. Dark and heavy, tinged with feelings of despair and melancholy, “The Loss Of Beauty” was released on March 24th, 2023, and is recommended for fans of Swallow The Sun, Borknagar, and Paradise Lost.
