Blackened death metal project Bodybuilder has signed with Wormholedeath for the release of their harrowing EP, “There’s No There, There”. Mark your calendars, for this sonic onslaught is set to pulverize your senses on November 15th, 2024.
Emerging from the shadows of Los Angeles in 2018, Bodybuilder is the singular vision of mastermind Nicholas Capaldi. Weaving a tapestry of despair and dread, Capaldi utilizes a potent arsenal of synthesizers, tortured vocals, and pulverizing drum programming.
“There’s No There, There” signifies a bold new chapter for Bodybuilder. This isn’t your typical black metal fare. Imagine a relentless sonic storm, a relentless torrent of anguish howling its terrifying symphony. Distorted synthesizers paint a bleak yet atmospheric canvas, transporting the listener on a harrowing journey through nightmares escapes, and existential abysses.
Capaldi draws inspiration from the dark visions of literary giants like William Gibson, Cormac McCarthy, Philip K. Dick, and H.P. Lovecraft. The resulting soundscape mirrors their bleak narratives: a descent into a dreamscape that spirals endlessly into a terrifying void.
Grammy-nominated metalcore pioneers AS I LAY DYING recently sparked a career-defining return to the scene, driven by the release of their upcoming eighth full-length studio album, Through Storms Ahead, out November 15, 2024 via Napalm Records. Poised to be one of the most highly-anticipated metal comebacks in years, the audacious new album features the critically-acclaimed new tracks “Burden”, “The Cave We Fear To Enter”, and the recently revealed “We Are The Dead” featuring guest vocalists Alex Terrible (Slaughter to Prevail) and Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin, Darko),
Today, a fourth new single arrives – the ominous metalcore anthem “Whitewashed Tomb” – alongside a brand new music video. The track bleeds in with a cinematic underscore before its potent vocal lines, hair-raising, rhythmic guitar leads and reverberating electronic atmosphere takes over.
Frontman Tim Lambesis says about the track and video: “‘Whitewashed Tomb’ represents a balance between the melody and aggression that AILD is known for with an interesting modern twist from the way that Phil and Hiram produced it. When Phil wrote the original demo, I could instantly appreciate the classic melodic-metal influences in the guitar melodies contrasted with an underlying darker theme. So, lyrically it seemed fitting for me to focus on the metaphor of a whitewashed tomb. It is something clean and beautiful at a first glance until the darker hidden side is revealed. I also love what Ryan Neff added to solidify that sense of contrast vocally, as well.”
With 25 years of reign and seven acclaimed albums under their belts, Through Storms Ahead further bolsters the proven line-up of vocalist Tim Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso alongside recent newcomers Ryan Neff (bass, clean vocals), Nick Pierce (drums) and Ken Susi (guitar). Featuring immense, stunning production by guitarist Phil Sgrosso and Hiram Hernandez, mixing by Aaron Chaparian, mastering by Mike Kalajian and album art once again created by Corey Meyers, Through Storms Ahead proves that good things come to those who wait. The album features crystal clear, punishingly precise technicality and quality – proving keen attention to detail and thoughtful exploration throughout.
A melancholic guitar-driven introduction track blasts into a deft explosion on first song “A Broken Reflection”, showcasing the masterful melding of skills that the new incarnation of AS I LAY DYING brings to the table. The clean vocals of bassist Ryan Neff absolutely soar throughout, fortifying the high-end of the track’s multi-layered attack of searing, heart-wrenching guitar harmonics, driving bass, pummeling drums and the furious low-end gutturals of iconic frontman Tim Lambesis. Streamed over a million times within days of its initial release, first single “Burden” annihilates with instantly gripping energy, charging in with an intensely catchy chorus, multiple breakdowns and ingenious guitar soloing from Phil Sgrosso. Melodic “The Void Within” and “Taken From Nothing” evoke classic AS I LAY DYING style blended with modernized metalcore passages, while tracks such as “Strength to Survive” and “Gears That Never Stop” showcase the vital songwriting prowess of the band in 2024. Blending metallic battery with dominant accessibility, the tracks further attest that Through Storms Ahead won’t pause for a single moment of mediocrity. Title track “Through Storms Ahead” bludgeons with intense drums and an earworm chorus, while acclaimed second single “The Cave We Fear To Enter” begins pensively before charging into an emotive melodic metalcore opus.
Tim Lambesis, Phil Sgrosso & Co. have created a metalcore masterpiece for the modern scene, solidifying that AS I LAY DYING are continuing to evolve and expand their trademark sound in a new era.

BLACK OAK COUNTY are back at it with groovy new single “Camouflage”!
The Danish hard rockers release the final single and video leading up to the release of their anticipated album “III”, releasing on October 25th!
Although “Camouflage” is a punchy, groove-oriented song, with a monstrous hook, the story behind the song couldn’t be more vulnerable:
“”Camouflage” is one of the more personal songs of the album. It’s a song about having to mask your emotions or personality in order to fit in; in social gatherings, at work, etc”, the band says. “It’s about insecurities, being uncomfortable in your own skin, and being afraid that you won’t be accepted as you are – because why should people accept, when you have a hard time accepting yourself?”
Co-written, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Nicklas Sonne, this is clearly one of the groovier songs of the album. With its bouncy middle section, with a tip of the musical cap to some of our more modern-sounding influences, “Camouflage” is sure to have Black Oak County’s audiences jumping and moving!
Join the premiering here:
The Danish hard rock quartet Black Oak County releases their third album, taking them to new musical horizons, with a wide mix of thundering breakdowns, catchier choruses than ever before, a massive wall of pounding guitar riffs, and a heartfelt piano ballad.
“III” is co-written and produced with Danish metal heavyweight Nicklas Sonne (Defecto, Aries Descendant, Danish Eurovision preliminaries), which proved to be a fruitful creative relationship between the two parties.
“We came to Nicklas and worked on [the singles] “Save Your Breath” and “Fire Inside” together back in 2023, and we absolutely loved the process”, the band says. “It was amazing for us to have someone as competent as Nicklas giving us feedback on our songs, their structures, compositions and riffs – just to have someone impartial to work with, who wanted nothing but the best for the songs was awesome. We knew right away that we wanted to do a full album together, and hadn’t left the studio before we started working on songs for “III” together”.
The album marks a return-to-form for the band, reuniting with guitarist/singer Niels Beier on 2022’s singles “Back For Blood” and “It’s On You”, produced by former grammy nominee Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Asinhell) and co-written with Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp). Now with both Beier and singer/bassist René Kristensen doing vocal duties in the band, new musical doors have opened for the Esbjerg-based rockers.
“We realized we had two great singers and hadn’t utilized it before”, Kristensen confirms. “We took advantage of that on “Back For Blood”, but have worked out the songs for the album with this in mind. There’s a lot of back-and-forth between us on this album, swapping verses and choruses, doing harmonies for each other’s parts, etc., and we sound better than ever on this album!”.
Black Oak County have dug deep into their pile of musical ideas, in order to come up with a wider range of songs than ever, incorporating brand new ideas with older material from the early days of their career. “III” is an energetic record, with the band’s well-known mixture of high-intensity low-tuned riffs paying homage to their metal and hard rock heroes, mixed with modern mixing techniques, synthesizers and a fresh take on the band’s familiar sound.
“III” will be released on digipack CD, LP (black and green vinyl versions available, each limited to 200 copies) and digital on October 25th, 2024 via Mighty Music.
Lineup: Niels Beier – guitar, vocals René Kristensen – bass, vocals Jack Svendsen – guitar Mike Svendsen – drums

Born from the frost of Northern Finland in 2013, Warfarer weaves chilling tales of small people’s great struggles amidst ancient myths. Their ferocious blend of melodic death metal and symphonic elements bites like the freezing wind and grips you like the flu.
After releasing an EP in 2017 and undergoing a complete reincarnation with new singles in 2018 and 2020, the band is more alive than ever, preparing for war with brutal new songs and sharpened axes. Their upcoming concept album, ‘A Tale Beyond the Pale’, set for release in 2024, delves into the Finnish myth of the Brotherslayer, taking listeners on a journey through jealousy, scheming, Viking raids, duels under the northern lights, and an eventual descent into guilt and madness.

Metal band FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY has today unleashed their brand new single ‘LowerPurpose‘. Along with the blistering track comes a new music video, which fans can watch below.
‘Lower Purpose‘ serves as a follow up to previous releases ‘Savior Of None / Ashes Of All‘ and ‘Hostage‘ – all of which can be found on the band’s forthcoming album The Nothing That Is.The new album is set to be released on October 25th via Nuclear Blast.
On the new track, the band shares: “You work, you pay taxes, and you expect the people in positions of power and government to serve your needs and the needs of other citizens, when in reality they serve their own agendas. Greed, war, corruption, it’s almost impossible to free yourself from this cycle. You inevitably serve a lower purpose.”
The Nothing That Is Tracklist: 1.Hostage 2.Spoils Of The Horde 3.Savior Of None / Ashes Of All 4.Weaker Wolves 5.Red Horizon 6.The Nothing That Is 7.Lurch 8.Lower Purpose 9.Lust For The Severed Head 10.The Silver Sun
Two years after their last headline tour through Europe, and shortly after the album release, the band will visit over 20 different European cities including London, Oslo, Berlin, Prague, Milan and many more! Starting the run on November 22nd in London, UK, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY will be supported throughout the tour by label mates SYLOSIS and also DARKEST HOUR and HERIOT.
TOUR DATES: FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY · 2024 EU/UK TOUR Special Guests: SYLOSIS DARKEST HOUR HERIOT
FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY’s acclaimed 2022 album On What the Future Holds was the band’s highest-charting release to date, becoming the first of their six full-lengths to reach the Top 25 of the Billboard 200. But while some musicians would take such an achievement as a cue to duplicate whatever worked last time, or maybe even tailor their sound to boost its commercial appeal, the band—vocalist Joe Badolato, guitarists Will Putney, Patrick Sheridan and Tim Howley, bassist Peter Spinazola, and drummer JoseanOrta—simply continued to evolve along their own path. The Nothing That Is, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY’s seventh and latest album (and third for Nuclear Blast), bears no sign whatsoever of commercial concession or rehashed past glories. Instead, the ten-song album finds the band exploring moodier textures and deeper emotions that add new power and dynamics to their already brutal and complex music, while also completely tuning out the ambient noise of passing musical trends and the expectations of the outside world. Produced by Putney at his Graphic Nature Audio studio in Kinnelon, New Jersey, The Nothing That Is is an album filled with anger, frustration and crushing despair. Songs like “Hostage“, “Red Horizon“, “Lower Purpose“,and the pummeling title track grapple with the horrors that the human race has unnecessarily inflicted upon the world, while the epic, introspective closer “The Silver Sun” reflects bitterly upon our uncertain future. Built to be listened to in its entirety in a single sitting ,The Nothing That Is flows like the gripping soundtrack to a documentary film of our increasingly dystopian existence. A ringing wake-up call for humanity and a thoroughly intense listening experience, TheNothing That Is brims with both aggression and melody, its bracing music delivered with the confidence of a band that has honed its skills and forged its sense of purpose through fifteen-plus years of all-out live shows. Sufficiently secure of their place in the metal firmament to let their music go wherever feels right for a particular song, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY have delivered what may well be the greatest album of their career.
