Swedish hard rock/metal band DAYS OF JUPITER are revving up their engines with the release of their latest single and lyric video, ‘Machine’.
While putting the finishing touches on their upcoming, yet-to-be-announced fifth studio album, DAYS OF JUPITER continue to build momentum with this brand-new track. Following the success of their previous release, ‘Original Sin’, ‘Machine’ further solidifies the band’s reputation for crafting powerful, hard-hitting songs.
“‘Machine’ is a heavy ‘punch in the face’ riffing song with great melodies, an uplifting chorus and an epic ending. The feeling of the song is that it pushes forward…like a machine!” clarify DAYS OF JUPITER.
With over 20 million streams on Spotify and widespread critical acclaim across four studio albums, DAYS OF JUPITER’s journey began in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden in 2010. Their debut album, “Secrets Brought to Life” (2012), marked their entrance onto the global stage, followed by a performance at the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival. Their albums “Only Ashes Remain” and “New Awakening” helped expand their reach, landing them more live performances, including international shows. The band eventually supported DISTURBED in front of 10,000 fans in Estonia following the release of their fourth album, “Panoptical” (2018).
Now, with a strong new partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), DAYS OF JUPITER are back with their upcoming fifth album, aiming to please their loyal fanbase and attract new metal fans worldwide.

Today, October 4, 2024, German atmospheric black metal outfit ÄERA release their sophomore album titled “Phantast”, through Vendetta Records.
The band is showcasing the full-length record in its entirety. Get an exclusive listen to “Phantast” here:
Over a meticulous two-year span, ÄERA‘s dedicated trio – Milan Sikorski, Simon Wiedenhöft, and Sven Strefel – poured their collective creativity into shaping the sonic landscape of their latest opus. Inspired by Christian Morgenstern’s mesmerizing work “In Phantas Schloss”, the band’s upcoming full-length album “Phantast” promises to take listeners on an extraordinary journey across both inner and outer realms, distorts perspectives and thus gives insights into a world outside of society constraints. “Phantast” creates a space full of possibilities and fantasy, but always with reference to reality to show contrasts and grievances.
Fusing influences from classic 90s black metal with contemporary post, ambient, and atmospheric black metal, ÄERA‘s music is characterized by drawn-out compositions that are emotional, dynamic, and energetically charged. The band’s name, rooted in an ancient German dialect where ÄER symbolizes ‘earth’, reflects the essence of their lyrical explorations drawn from the works of literary luminaries such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Christian Morgenstern. ÄERA‘s thematic pursuits encompass humankind’s detachment from nature, existential inquiries, cosmic fascinations, social and religious criticism, and natural romanticism.
Featuring robust yet intricate riffing, expansive melodies, mid-tempo drumming, atmospheric interludes, progressive elements, and rich lyrical narratives, ÄERA distinguishes itself as a force to be reckoned within the realm of black metal.
“Phantast” by ÄERA is out today via Vendetta Records.

Volcano Records & Promotion is thrilled to announce the release of KAIROSKILLER‘s debut single, titled “Kairos Killer”, available from today, October 4, 2024, on all digital platforms.
The track, characterized by an energetic and sharp sound, firmly establishes itself in the alternative rock scene, drawing influences from bands like Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, and Queens Of The Stone Age. “Kairos Killer” reflects on our condition as “killers” of quality time, enslaved by a consumerist society. With critical lyrics and an enveloping powerful sound, the song invites listeners to reflect on our inability to live in the present and urges us to rediscover lost meaning through beauty and the care of relationships.
The single was produced by Pietro Foresti, a renowned Italian music producer with extensive international experience. Foresti has worked in Los Angeles with numerous major label artists, including Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns, Guns N’ Roses), Scott Russo (Unwritten Law), and Marvin Etzioni (Lone Justice). He has contributed to the production of over four dozen albums for artists such as Sylvia Massy (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool), Michael C. Ross (Christina Aguilera, Pussycat Dolls), and Joe Gastwirt (Neil Young, Grateful Dead, Michael Jackson). Foresti also serves as producer and manager for Italian pop star Valeria Rossi, known for her hit “Tre Parole”.
Kairoskiller, a Turin-based band formed in 2022, stands out for their unique style, blending elements of ’90s rock with modern sounds. The band’s name is a protest against modern society, accused of killing the quality of time, represented by the Greek deity Kairos.

Produced at Studio 606 in Los Angeles, “Devil’s Handyman” is the second single from Steve Hill’s highly anticipated, upcoming album Hanging On A String. The new single is as dark and moody as can be. It’s released by No Label Records on Friday October 4th and is available on all streaming platforms from https://lnk.to/HillDevil.
Recorded live off the floor, the new album is destined to impress. Germany’s Guitar Magazine says, “Steve Hill is the most impressive one-man band on the planet… it’s hard to believe that what you’re hearing is only one guy.”
“Devil’s Handyman” is about an all-too-common story in the world of rock and roll – addiction. The narrator is the dealer, talking to his clients, acting like a comforting friend at first and gradually taking control over his life. It starts with the line, “Hey there buddy, good to see you again,” and ends with, “I’ll be there until you start to lose your soul and fall apart.”
The music video for “Devil’s Handyman” was directed by Mat Lucas and shot at Studio 606. The shooting of the performance where Steve is playing guitar and drums, is the actual recording of the take that was used on the album, on the first day of recording, January 8, 2024.
As a recording artist, it is one of Steve Hill’s best performances in over 25 years; with 13 albums to his name. It features deep blues slide guitar over a Zeppelinesque heavy groove, with vocals that echo the likes of Howlin’ Wolf and James Hetfield.
The first single “World Gone Insane” has been available on all platforms since September 6th and the video can be seen HERE.
“Devil’s Handyman” is an impressive taste of what to expect on Hanging On A String, available everywhere from Friday November 1st. Trust UK’s Fireworks Magazine when they say, “This album will blow your mind!”
Recorded and produced by 10 X Grammy Winner Darrell Thorp (Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Paul McCartney) and mastered by 6 X Grammy Winner Michael Romanowski, Steve Hill’s latest album is as close to the heart as you can get. Decades of dedication to the lifestyle of a working musician have shaped him and his craft, and Steve’s new batch of songs are based on his own successes and failures and the life lessons he’s learned from them.
Steve has always loved concept albums. Even though the songs on Hanging on A String weren’t written with a concept in mind, when you put them all together, it feels like a concept album, set in a dystopian world where music is the only salvation.
The funny thing is that it’s not set in the distant future, it’s right here and now, and the hero is not a made-up character, it’s just Steve doing what he’s been doing for decades. Its themes are both very personal and universal. It’s about a one-man blues-rock band trying to make a living and dealing with accidents and bumps in the road and forging ahead no matter what, it’s about the life of a musician as it gets harder to tour in these post-pandemic times, having to deal with new challenges like being replaced by artificial intelligence.
The album starts with the line “Woke up in a house on fire” and the conception of the album started with that line. Steve had just finished a tour in Western Canada and was sleeping in a friend’s basement when he woke up surrounded by smoke.
Like the song says, “I got my buddy out of there. Good thing I generally have a hard time sleeping…”
He then went to the airport and before taking off, posted a photo of him on his socials, with these words: Woke up in a house on fire. His buddy Brian Laudenslager who owns the Lauten Audio microphone company wrote back, “Man, that’s a good line for a song!” to which Steve agreed! Brian had been telling Steve to record in Los Angeles for years.
“He had hired me in the past to do demos of his microphones at events like the NAMM show and other industry events,” says Steve. “His good friend, 10X Grammy winner Darrell Thorp, was the sound engineer whenever I did those shows.”
A few days and conversations later, Brian had booked Darrell and the Foo Fighter’s Studio 606 (yes, the one with the classic Neve console that used to be at Sound City) to record his next album. He then had 90 days to write an album’s worth of material and learn how to play it live (he recorded every instrument at the same time in the studio).
He spent five days a week in his home studio for three months crafting the songs and was ready to nail it all down. He flew to LA where his friend and songwriting partner Johnny Pilgrim picked him up at the airport and 20 minutes later, they were hit by another car that ran a red light. This was his second car accident in less than a year, as he had previously totalled his van, fallen asleep at the wheel coming home from a gig nine months earlier, and miraculously survived a massive wreck that all witnesses said should have killed him…
He did his best to record with some broken ribs, but his injuries got the best of him and the producers decided to postpone the recording. He healed and perfected the songs for another three months and finally came back to 606 in January 2024, and this time nothing could stop him… He had six days to record the album, and he did it in 5! Never were more than 3 takes needed and most of what you hear are first or second takes.
Says Steve, “I’ve never been prouder of anything I’ve done in all my life. This is the music I’ve been wanting to do and never thought I could ever perform that as a one-man band. Raw, in your face and straight to the point. This record is about perseverance, resilience in the face of adversity and my never-ending love for guitar music.”
“I truly believe this to be my best work so far and I hope you enjoy it, too.”
We’ve heard a lot about Steve Hill over the past 30 years, and we’re about to hear a lot more. From backing up some of the biggest acts in his native Quebec as a teenager, to becoming a bandleader in his 20s, to solo artist, to writer, performer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, to one-man band extraordinaire, Steve has followed his own path for most of his life.
That path has brought him Juno Awards and Maple Blues Awards along with accolades from the biggest guitar magazines on the planet. The man has had an incredibly busy life and more than his share of ups and downs, but you haven’t heard the best of it yet…
His latest album is as close to the heart as you can get. Decades of dedication to the lifestyle of a working musician have shaped him and his craft, and Steve’s new batch of songs are based on his own successes and failures and the life lessons he’s learned from them.
His latest album, Hanging on a String, a true “concept album by accident”, shows this one-man orchestra at its best, on an extraordinary recording that is undoubtedly the finest of his career.

ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK
HANGING ON A STRING You don’t go for the brass ring when you’re hanging on a string. It’s hard to elevate yourself when you spend your time trying to stay alive. Each verse goes through a real story on the road where I cheated death.
DEVIL’S HANDYMAN A song about the drug epidemic from the point of view of the dealer in which he encounters a young man on the street, a Hollywood starlet on her way down and an old junkie.
SHOW YA An overview of my life from the first moment I go into music, right up to the last few years, touring in a post-pandemic world where things are not what they used to be or what I thought they would be. But still, the reason I do it is the same, for the love of the music and the love of entertaining an audience.
WORLD GONE INSANE The big question is: Has the world gone insane or is it all in my brain? Have you ever been so disgusted by social media, alternate truss, and the lack of over meaning with the new works that you just want to disconnect, get rid of every technological tool, and go live in a cabin in the woods?
MAGGIE Maggie my girl, Maggie my world, Maggie’s always been the star. Maggie, Maggie, my guitar! Just your regular dom/sub love song about a guitar.
YOU KNOW WHO It’s about our new saviour, artificial intelligence, where we won’t even have to think, just relax, and have a drink, and I won’t even have to sing. It’ll write the songs and we’ll just have to play along.
TURNED TO DUST A look back on a past you shared with a lover or a version of humanity that is no longer relevant as times have changed. Trying to go ahead and move along when all that you knew and loved has turned to dust.
WHEN THE MUSIC’S OVER The old Doors classic, still has relevant now than over 50 years ago. No matter what happens, music is there. When the music is your special friend, dance on fire as it intends. Music is your only friend until the end.
Powerhouse metal outfit SYLOSIS have surprise released their new EP The Path ahead of their upcoming co-headlining tour with FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY.
On the release of the The Path, Josh Middleton comments:
“When we were working on ASOTTC we amassed a lot of material. It was a very creative period and the songs that didn’t make it onto ASOTTC were by no means below standard – far from it! We’re extremely excited to share with you The Path EP. Some of our best material to date! We hope you enjoy it”
The band have also released a video for it’s title track featuring Debbie Gough of HERIOT, who will be joining the band as support across the UK and Europe.
On the EP’s title track, Josh continues:
“The Path is about my love and obsession for heavy music. It’s all I need. It’s never been a phase or something I’ll grow out of. I’m immersed in this culture and more than anything, I am still a rabid fan! I think previously writing a song about this kind of thing would have been a no-go for me. Maybe it could be perceived as corny or ‘out of character’ compared to some of the bands previous lyrics but this feels like a very important song to me.”

Quebec-based melodic symphonic metallers TROLLWAR are gearing up to release their fifth record “Tales from the Frozen Wastes” on November 15, 2024. The band is excited to reveal the stunning album artwork and tracklisting, along with offering fans a glimpse into the dark and epic world they’ve created with a new album teaser. They share their thoughts on the recording:
“We think our album could really be described as a renewal. A renewal of our music and a new maturity for our music. We do think that you can hear it through our songs in this release. “The Unseen One” and “In the Fields of Frost” are both great songs that we wrote a couple of years ago, while “Bane of the Underworld” and “The Offering” are pretty much the new Trollwar that you should expect going forward. These two songs show a clear upgrade of how we write our music.”
“Tales from the Frozen Wastes” promises to be Trollwar’s most complex and complete release to date, showcasing the band’s evolution towards a more melodic and symphonic sound while incorporating progressive elements. The EP features five tracks, including a prologue, that will transport listeners into a darker dimension ruled by shadows and supreme deities.
Watch the EP Teaser here:
The EP artwork, unveiled today, depicts a desolate landscape ruled by a higher force, where darkness looms over all. This visual representation perfectly captures the essence of Trollwar’s music – epic and hopeful, yet dark and malicious. It is recommended for fans of Wintersun, Ensiferum, and Amon Amarth.
