Just in time for their upcoming European tour as special guests of Smash Into Pieces, German rock / nu-metal sextet From Fall to Spring released their brand new single and video ‘Come Alive’ via Arising Empire.
The new track is an electrifying blend of metalcore, pop, and hip-hop that perfectly encapsulates what makes From Fall to Spring stand out: hard-hitting rhythms, clever programming, metallic guitar riffs, catchy pop melodies, a hook-filled chorus, dynamic rap sections, and well-placed shouts that emphasize key lyrical moments.
Speaking of lyrics, ‘Come Alive’ reflects on the question of whether one can confront and escape the demons of their past. This personal growth is mirrored in the band’s evolving sound, as ‘Come Alive’ demonstrates, it’s a track that offers both variety and depth.

From Fall to Spring, a melodic new metal band from southwest Germany, began their musical journey with two self-produced EP’s, A Better Tomorrow (2017) and Disconnected (2019), which quickly amassed over one million streams. Their breakout single ‘Supernova’ paved the way for their debut album RISE, which alone garnered over 11 million streams on Spotify and contributed to over 20 million streams across their entire discography. This rising success led to their signing with Arising Empire, one of Germany’s premier rock and metal labels.
As part of this partnership, the band released five singles, each accompanied by its own music video, significantly boosting their visibility and digital presence. The lineup features twin brothers Philip and Lukas Wilhelm, alongside bandmates Simon Triem, Benedikt Veith, Sebastian Monzel, and León Arend. Their strong digital following includes over 108,000 TikTok followers and more than 38,000 on Instagram, further cementing their growing impact on the modern metal scene.

UK’s VEILED are quickly carving out their own unique path within the metal scene. Their new full-length album, SE/CT, out 18th October via Seek and Strike is a dynamic, highly energetic and uncompromising metallic assault. Today the band release the album’s second single, ‘The Sentence’.
Each track on their debut album is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, blending aggression with melody while delivering a powerful narrative, as this album shows the band truly finding their definitive sound. They already declared their diehard fans as “The Sect” and after this album, their legion of followers is going to expand tenfold.
VEILED turned many heads performing at on the Doghouse Stage at Download Festival this year. Look for them headlining the ‘Veiled The Hometown Gathering II: Second Coming’ at Lending Room on Saturday 26th October in Leeds.
VEILED commented: “We always try to channel a specific emotion or feeling with each release and this album invokes a feeling of sheer terror. We wanted an air of unease around the songs, playing with tension and really appreciating the power that silence can have. The format of an album gives us the time to build more of a story and experiment dynamically compared to a shorter release. The album allowed us to delve deeper into our more atmospheric and dynamic side.
“Our second single, ‘The Sentence,’ is a song about a meeting with our leader after performing a ritual to summon him and how he can only help once they have given their life to The Sect. This track was chosen as a single because we wanted to showcase something faster and something without clean vocals. ‘Omen of Torture’ has a huge chorus, but we wanted to showcase all aspects of what VEILED can be. The video shows Kyle’s introduction to The Sect, everyone’s ritual is unique, and we felt it the right song to showcase his initiation due to the lyrical content.
“As a collective, we’re proud of how massive the album sounds. The pacing and track placements makes the album ebb and flow, helping to tell a story sonically, even instrumentally, without hearing the vocals you can feel the emotions that each track conveys. The stories we tell in our songs and videos have always been a large part of our songwriting and conceptual process. Even if a song doesn’t have a video, we always tend to write as though it will, having vivid visual imagery that goes along with the music. The album is an extension of this and a huge step up from our previous offerings. We try to keep the listener guessing as to exactly where a song or a story is going to take them.
“If you’re a fan of heavy music, then we know that we will have at least one song that connects with you. From our terrifyingly heavy songs to slower more anthemic-based songs. If you like extremely heavy music, but also like huge sing-along choruses, the two don’t always have to be mutually exclusive. Join The Sect, you might just be surprised what you find.”

“Dreams of Euphoria” is a hauntingly beautiful journey through the inner workings of the human psyche, where dreams and reality intertwine in a delicate dance of light and darkness. With its sweeping orchestral arrangements, soaring melodies, and powerful lyrical themes, this track is a testament to the band’s ability to push the boundaries of symphonic metal while staying true to its epic roots. One of the key recurring themes in the video is the rise of robotics and Artificial Intelligence—a dangerous tool when misused or allowed to spiral out of control, further amplifying the song’s tension between human emotion and technological power.
Formed in 2020, Just Reborn emerged from the rich musical heritage of Italy. Founding members Jack Massa (drums), Monica Bisquadro (vocals), and Giancarlo Russo (guitar and bass) combined their diverse musical backgrounds and creative energies to forge a new path in the metal scene. This rich tapestry of sounds has been meticulously woven together, resulting in a symphonic power metal album that is both unique and compelling.
The album addresses themes of emotions, depression, and the modern world’s challenges, culminating in a profound exploration of artificial intelligence and its potential consequences. Teaming up with renowned metal vocalist Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray) as the core session singer for the album, the band also features a stellar performance from top-notch vocalist Ian Parry (ex-Elegy, Rock Emporium) on one track. The result is an explosive album, made up of 9 Heavy Metal songs characterized by a mix of powerful riffs, catchy melodies and symphonic passages.

Fabio Calluori about the album: “Scream is the first album of my new band called Die for my Sins, founded with my brother Nicolas (drums) and it comes after many years of experience in the metal scene with bands like Heimdall (with 6 albums to its credit) and From Depths.
The album sees the featuring of the great singers Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex Gamma Ray) on 8 songs and Ian Parry (Elegy, Rock Emporium, Consortium Project) on 1 song…when we got the vocal tracks from them, we were really stunned by their amazing work! Then we have as special guests, on lead guitars, my great talented friends Luca Sellitto (Timeless Fairytale, ex Stamina) with some solos and Carmelo Claps (Heimdall) with the solo in one song. ‘Scream’ is an explosive album and you can find some more in your face and energetic songs like the title track, ‘Still Alive’ and ‘Waiting for your Hero’, others more melodic like ‘Time’, ‘Shades of Grey’ and ‘Dark Symphony’ and some stuff more epic like ‘Perfect Land’, ‘In the Sign of the Cross’ and ‘Kingdoms Rise’.
‘Scream’ was a very tough challenge for me because I wrote and arranged all the music and lyrics, I played guitars, bass and keys and I produced, mixed and mastered it in my Sonic Temple recording studio (www.sonictemplestudio.it). Besides I also made our videos. We put a lot of effort and all our passion for this style of music into this album so I hope that ‘Scream’ will be really appreciated and loved by metal heads all over the world.“
“Scream” will be coming out on November 22 on ViciSolum Productions and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Finland’s celebrated Von Hertzen Brothers have unveiled ‘Ascension Day’ along with a music video. This is the second single from their highly anticipated ninth studio album, In Murmuration, due for release on 25th October.
Gutiarist Kie von Hertzen comments on ‘Ascension Day’: “This one was written on a small island in Eastern Finland, right next to the Russian border on a crisp April morning. On the islets around the island, there was a huge cormorant colony and you could see many sea eagles soaring above the island in search of prey.
“The work-in-progress title for the song was ‘Bruce’ as the whole song is pretty much based on an uplifting riff, simple melody and a chord progression which somehow reminded me of ‘Born in the USA’. The storyteller has finally come out of the darkest place and is fulfilled with unrestrained compassion, love and gratitude for everything around him. Just being able to walk down the street on an average Monday makes him feel on top of the world as that’s been something unthinkable up until the very moment described in the song.”
New album In Murmuration follows the profound and epic journey of their acclaimed, pandemic-era masterpiece Red Alert in the Blue Forest (2022).
In Murmuration will be released on Von Hertzen Brothers’ own label, DoingBeingMusic, on limited-edition crystal-clear vinyl gatefold LP, CD and digital. Merch bundles will be available from the band’s website. Pre-orders are available now.
Von Hertzen Brothers will play album launch shows in Finland and the UK at the end of 2024 before returning to the UK, Europe and the US, including Cruise to the Edge in spring 2025.
Confirmed dates are as follows: Nov 09: Helsink (FI) Tavastia (album release show) Nov 16: Tampere (FI) Olympia (album release show) Nov 28: Troon (UK) Winter Storm Festival Nov 29: Buckley (UK) The Tivoli Nov 30: Trecco (UK) Bay Planet Rockstock Dec 02: London (UK) The Garage
Tracklist:
1. The Relapse 2. A Good Life 3. Starlings 4. Ascension Day 5. Beneath the Silver Stars 6. Tightrope Walker 7. The Change 8. Separation 9. Snowstorm 10. Wait for Me
In true Von Hertzen Brothers style, In Murmuration creatively juxtaposes the band’s previous release. Whilst their imaginative, multi-genre hard rock and harmonies remain, the band’s artistic pendulum has swung more towards an air of optimism and renewal. The result is a work filled with big choruses, stadium rock anthems, art-rock with 90s vibes and catchy power-pop.
Whilst the themes within the album may not be as deliberately opinionated as on previous releases Red Alert in the Blue Forest and War is Over, there is a naturally occurring sense of constant change throughout. Precise and intriguing observations on the global political landscape, the tricky human relationships of this age, resilience and personal growth all provide lyrical subject matter. The first half of the album embodies a transformation of mood, bringing forth some positivity and love, and the second half journeys through challenging relationships, a literal call for change, separation, loss, longing and a final resolution.
Vocalist/guitarist Mikko von Hertzen says: “The shapes and the overall tone of the musical content on this album could be a bit surprising to some of our newer followers, but not to those who have been listening to us from the beginning. Musically speaking, we have proudly carried the cloaks of ‘prog-wizards’ for the last two albums, but what has not been so widely discussed lately is our ability to write good pop choruses and great catchy rock anthems with good vibes. We felt like it was now time to bring forth that side of us once again. The lyrical themes still deal with the everyday struggles of being humans in this f*cked up world, it’s a source that keeps on giving, but we wanted to step out of the forest and into the sunlight to mingle, discuss and celebrate. We live in an age of constant change where everyone is trying to find a secure footing in life, sometimes full of joy and sometimes filled with utter disappointment. Amid all that, the trick is to stay alert and lean to one another. Like starlings in murmuration. After the pandemic, and now as the world has once again opened, we have somehow felt lighter in our everyday lives. We acknowledge the contradiction of course, since the world with its horrors hasn’t changed much… It would have been easy to drown in those doomsday moods, but writing these songs we felt the need to tackle these problems from a more forgiving and positive standpoint.”
From the anthemic opener to the reflective closer, In Murmuration ebbs and flows much like the starlings after which it is named.
The instrumentation on this album has also evolved. The three brothers Mikko, Kie and Jonne, with drummer Sami Kuoppamäki, are joined by multi-instrumentalist Markus Pajakkala, who performed with the brothers on their acoustic tour in 2023. Notable for his saxophone solo on 2022’s ‘Peace Patrol’,Markus brings a new dynamic to the album. Guests on the album include a gospel ensemble and the Budapest Art Orchestra.
Now in their 23rd year, Von Hertzen Brothers have consistently delivered music on their own terms and In Murmuration is no exception. This is their third self-produced album, the others being the award-winning Approach (2006) and War is Over (2017).
Von Hertzen Brothers are: Mikko von Hertzen – vocals, guitars Kie von Hertzen – guitars, vocals Jonne von Hertzen – bass, keyboards, vocals Sami Kuoppamäki – drums Markus Pajakkala – keyboards, woodwind
Filippa Nässil (founder, songwriter and guitar player in Thundermother) spent two months and three weeks in the USA touring with Thundermother in the fall of 2022 supporting the band Scorpions. On off days from playing she wrote lyrics for what came to be her upcoming debut solo album “American Diaries”, that is set for release October 4th 2024. The album will contain both English and Swedish versions of all the tracks on the album. Her third single“Green Fields Of Napa” is out today via Despotz Records.
She booked the studio in Skåne, Klippan, Sweden (Lemon Recording Studio) whilst still in the States and wrote the music for the album in one month after coming home and recorded it in December 2022 and mixed it in Medley Studios march 2023 in Copenhagen.
Filippa started Thundermother 2009, she studied music production and guitar before that. In 2022 she studied in distance at London Songwriting Academy and she thanks one of her teachers Shelly Poole for pushing her to do a solo album.
About her third single “Green Fields Of Napa”, and how it came to be, she had this to say:
“During a day off, we received an invitation to visit an expansive winery farm in the heart of Napa Valley. The surroundings were beautiful with olive trees, grapevines, and pomegranates hanging from the ceiling, ripe for the picking. We tried local wines, but as evening went by, our host prepared a meal of pasta with tomato sauce, accompanied by bread and butter. However, to my surprise, he confessed that these dishes contained ingredients from his own cannabis fields. I promptly requested an alternative dish, and as I waited for its preparation, an effect took hold while my arms went a bit too relaxed. I became intoxicated while waiting for the replacement meal from the butter I had on my bread. It was a delightful evening after all, the crackling of a fire and I just had to accept and live in the moment.”
“American Diaries” is what it sounds like, her time in Chicago meeting her blues idol “Buddy Guy” and his family, she even got invited to his birthday party turning 86 years old. On “Buddy Guy’s Blues” she plays with his son “Greg Guy”. On “Green Fields Of Napa” she tells the story of getting accidentally high, eating food on a winery, on “Richmond, Virginia” about her favorite food mexican tacos called ‘pastor’, on “San Fransisco” when her boyfriend came to visit and the joy that brought, on “For Rudy”, she sings about her time in Texas, ending up on a night club and the new friends she made there. “Mount Shasta” is her personal favorite, high up in the mountains of north California, missing her love wishing she could share that beauty with him.
“American Diaries” is a map over the USA, but in songs written, played and sung both in Swedish and English versions, by Filippa Nässil.
Filippas third single “Green Fields Of Napa” is out today via Despotz Records. Her debut solo album “American Diaries” is set for release October 4th 2024. The album will contain both Swedish and English versions of all the tracks on the album.
