“Victim Loop” is a track taken from Beautiful Skeletons’ EP Temperance, out via Wormholedeath. Watch the video below.
Beautiful Skeletons, a Pacific Northwest alt-metal band formed in 2018 by Einar Einarsson and Tina Firefly, endured pandemic setbacks before gaining momentum in 2022 under management with Paul Crosby. Their explosive live performances and EP releases, including “Vegvisir” and upcoming “Temperance,” have propelled them to local acclaim, leading to a signing with WormHoleDeath Records and promising prospects for 2024, including international festival appearances.
Temperance” EP represents the next stage in the evolution of their musical style, venturing into a more experimental and progressive form of metal.
Well into their two-decade career and with seven albums under their belt, the Grammy nominated five piece metalcore unit is back with a bludgeoning, unmissable new anthem, “Burden”, out now via Napalm Records. Premiering with a high energy music video, “Burden” boasts gripping energy, charging in with the band’s trademark breakneck intensity, soaring choruses and ingenious guitar soloing.
This track is just a taste of what’s to come from the band’s next official release, and further bolsters the proven line-up of vocalist Tim Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso alongside recent newcomers Ryan Neff, Nick Pierce and Ken Susi. “Burden” was co-produced by Phil Sgrosso and Hiram Hernandez, mixed by Aaron Chaparian and mastered by Ted Jensen.
The track release coincides with today’s announcement of AS I LAY DYING‘s 2024 European headline tour, beginning this fall! AS I LAY DYING’s Phil Sgrosso says about the track and video:
“It’s a pretty special moment for us to finally share some new music! ‘Burden’ was originally inspired by a guitar melody I wrote years ago on an old demo, thinking that it was lost for good in the demo abyss. It wasn’t until Tim dug it up and was inspired to shape a new song idea for it. The collaboration process with our co-producer Hiram Hernandez and new members brought new life to not only the song but the band as a whole, as we faced this new creative chapter together. Musically, we feel that ‘Burden’ represents a familiar part of our melodic history combined with a modern sense of energy and aggression. We really pushed ourselves to expand our musical capabilities in every department. We look forward to the addition of ‘Burden’ into our live show as well as introducing more music we’ve been working hard on over the past few years. Stay tuned.
It was a phenomenal experience working with Tom Flynn on the video for ‘Burden’. We were fans of his creative approach to modern music videos and could sense his high level of enthusiasm to deliver a video that would match the intensity of the song. He completely knocked it out of the park capturing the band performance and shaping a captivating concept which we will expand further into the release of our second single release…” Sgrosso adds about the European tour:
“Europe has become a second home to us so we always look forward to returning for a ‘go big and go hard’ headline tour. Traveling alongside us will be Germany’s very own Caliban, Poland’s finest death metal legends Decapitated, and the pummeling Left to Suffer. Each show will be a night to celebrate heavy music with the fans, let’s make it a memorable one together.”
Before heading out on their European tour, AS I LAY DYING will lay waste to the USA with a stacked summer headline tour, featuring support from Chelsea Grin and Entheos. See below for all currently confirmed tour dates!

American death metal legends MASSACRE, masterminded by growl forefather Kam Lee & established all the way back in 1984, have finished recording what will become the band’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, and first for Agonia Records, set for release in second half of 2024.
The freshly recorded tracks will travel to Sweden for mixing and mastering at Studio Unbound with former MASSACRE member Jonny Pettersson behind the console.
Frontman/vocalist Kam Lee had this to say on the sound the band has managed to achieve: “Vocal sessions for the new Massacre album are finally completed!! This new album is going to be something else! We really encapsulate the essence of the original sound and aesthetics of the early Death Metal music genre – keeping to the old school vibe and originality of that era between 1984 and 1994. I was really adamant about keeping to that decade specifically and the genre of music that was predominantly popular during that time.”
Kam continues: “I’m very proud of the writing team and the recording team. It’s been awesome to hear what everyone has accomplished in achieving this goal of making the next step of Massacre sound like a perfect evolution. I feel we achieved this by not having another cookie cutter sounding redundant album, but rather something unique with the process of evolving by devolving. Going back to the roots of the genre and creating music that feels like it was plucked directly out of that era.”
The recording personnel for the new album – much of whom have been with MASSACRE since the “Resurgence” era – comprises, aside from Kam Lee, original MASSACRE bassist Mike Borders, returning guitarists Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Rib Spreader, Megascavanger) & Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Heads for The Dead), and new drummer, Jon Rudin (Just Before Dawn, Heads for The Dead, Dehumanaut).
Formed in 1984, MASSACRE started out as a heavy/power metal band, but changed its style to death metal with the joining of Allen West and Kam Lee; the latter is often credited for inventing the “death growl” – first heard on the band’s 1986 demo “Aggressive Tyrant” – and is considered an influential pioneer as far as the death metal genre is concerned. The group went through several personnel shifts and disbandments over the years, with its early line-up toggling between MASSACRE, Mantas (early Death) and Death. Their 1991 debut album “From Beyond” was recorded at the famed Morrisound Studio and featured amongst “The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time” by Rock Hard Magazine in 2005.
MASSACRE recorded three more albums to date, including 1996’s “Promise”, 2014’s “Back From Beyond” and – most recently – their 2021’s triumphant return album, aptly named “Resurgence”. They were released on Earache, Century Media and Nuclear Blast records, respectively. The band continued their comeback with the follow-up “Mythos” EP, their self released collection album “Corpus Umbra” (consisting of previously self released single tracks), and the unavoidable digital-only release of live tracks called “Submergence: Live Beyond 2019”.
The band features a separate session line-up (for live performances only), which consists of Carlos Gonzalez (Grim Reality) on guitars, Elden Santos (Druid Lord) on drums and Tim Wilson on bass. “I refuse to be pigeon holed into what some people may perceive a band to be. As long as the members are productive musicians willing to do their part and perform their duties then I am fine with having revolving door line ups.” – Kam has been noted saying.

Extreme Management Group, (EMG) Senior Artist Manager, Damien Mitchell, would like to introduce and welcome, hailing from, Baltimore, Maryland, Industrial, Alternative Nu-Metallers, Carbonstone, to his roster.
Carbonstone, has a new single currently titled “White Noise” which you are invited to review as well as the latest full-length, self-released album, “Dark Matter.” Carbonstone merges hard hitting guitars with catchy vocal hooks and electronic synth elements. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Korn, NIN, Linkin Park and Static-X, Carbonstone has managed to find their own special sound by perfectly carving a niche somewhere in between the melodic heaviness of Nu-Metal and the digital industrial world of electronica.
Commenting on the partnership, the band states:
“We are absolutely ecstatic to be partnering up with such a massive management company! EMG’s reach is global and we seriously cannot wait to see what the not so distant future holds for all of us!”
EMG Senior Artist Manager Damien Mitchell states:
“I’m super psyched to begin working with, Carbonstone, these refined, humble guys offer-up a great example of polished songwriting, where electronica, meets, NU Metal, frenzied, guitar riffs, coupled with catchy melodies and hum-along choruses that’ll stick in your head all day! I can’t wait to share what we are able to accomplish, It’s time to show the world how we are joined together as elements of Carbonstone!’”
Carbonstone is an absolute must for fans of: Static-X, NIN, Sevendust, and Korn! Carbonstone has managed to find its own special sound by carving a niche somewhere in between the melodic heaviness of Nu-Metal and the digital industrial world of Electronica.
You could say Woke & Dagger, from UK punks Jifnotcif, has been 20 years in the making. In equal measures, it’s edgy, aggressive, melodic, poignant and very relevant for a vastly confusing modern era.
After the initial releases in their early days followed a general strict skate vibe, time amassed a greater musical knowledge and influence over Jifnotcif’s members, ambition, ability and energy all encompassing what has been rolled into Woke & Dagger.
Compiling the most recent independently released ep’s with additional bonus track, it’s the album that (with recent world constraints) the band were not able to do as originally intended but this has only allowed them to stay on the drawing board, meticulously plotting and hitting the studio harder to ensure that a fully unrushed approach was adapted and all the songs add to the overall excitement that the whole album delivers.
Full of modern meme related statements, catchy riffs, face bending solos and an overall incitement of the bands vision of a modern progressive punk sound.
Woke & Dagger deliveres in a punchy, no holds barred raw style, produced and mixed in the heart of Englands midlands with full style and control handled by the members to ensure the full artistic control and output is one that was envisioned from the early practice sessions right up until the final take.
With straight up punk madness from the likes of Stab and Blondie, to the more adventurous outpourings of Frozen, and the steadfast anthemic masterpieces of We Are and Bear Trap, this album constantly changes the perception of the listener with ‘never get old’ segments that keep you guessing as to what’s going to come next.
Tracklist: 01. Call It What You Want | 02. She Never Is | 03. Blondie | 04. Light Side Of The Raw | 05. Sense Of Containment | 06. Stab | 07. Deny Everything | 08. Drink, Party, Laugh, Cry (And Don’t Ask Why) | 09. Frozen | 10. Bear Trap | 11. We Are | 12. 8 Days A Week, 13 Months A Year | 13. Do It All Again
