Today, Time To Kill Records is pleased to announce the addition of Italian death-grind squad BRAINSORE to its evergrowing and varied roster. The band will release their debut album later this year.
Founded in Modena by drummer Don Gulag and guitarist Holy Father in spring 2022, the duo eventually recruited vocalist Horcrux Urethra (ex-Jesus Ain’t In Poland) and started focusing on songwriting and live activity, storming the stages all over northern Italy.
BRAINSORE find themselves on the crossroad between grind, death metal, hardcore and general hysteria. With no compromises or no rules, the band push the boundaries for an intense and chaotic soundscape without losing their love for groove and subtle melodies.
Expertly wielding the fierce brutality and massive aggression of their genre, the Italians add intelligent songwriting, effective arrangements, and musical proficiency as well as unexpected elements to their sound.
Watch for further album details, singles and more news on other upcoming BRAINSORE activities to be posted shortly.

Limited tickets are still available for the Saturday performance, so hurry up and get yours before its too late!
In celebration of this monumental double-header, the band is now sharing the official live video for the song “Deathcrush,” which is taken from the band’s latest live album, ‘Daemonic Rites.’ The clip can be seen at THIS LOCATION.
Fans can also view an in-depth interview with Mayhem about their 40th anniversary and upcoming performances via NRK HERE.
In addition, MAYHEM has just been added to the 2024 edition of Maryland Deathfest, which will take place in Baltimore, MD from May 23-26!
‘Daemonic Rites’ marks the culmination of the ‘Daemon’ era, which commenced in 2019 with the release of their critically acclaimed studio album, ‘Daemon.’ The journey continued with the savage EP ‘Atavistic Black Disorder’ in 2021, leaving audiences hungry for more. This latest live conglomeration serves as the ultimate chapter-closer for this landmark.
Preeminent black metallers Mayhem ready their newest live strike with Daemonic Rites for Century Media. The 16-track effort captures the frightful efficiency and utter lethality of the Norwegians as they close the chapter on their exalted sixth album, Daemon (2019). Throughout Daemonic Rites, Mayhem impressively nail newer tracks like “Falsified and Hated,” “Malum,” “Bad Blood,” and “Voces Ab Alta” to the proverbial cross, while offering pure fucking mastery of classics like “Freezing Moon,” “Buried by Time and Dust,” “Deathcrush,” and “Carnage.” The devilish quintet also add mid-career haunts like “To Daimonion,” “Symbols of Bloodswords,” and “My Death,” making Daemonic Rites a genuine career-spanning offering.
“We wanted to document how great the band and set sounds like after almost 40 years of playing live,” says founding member Necrobutcher. “As a treat to our fans, we decided to release this live recording.”
“We released the live version of De Mysteriis [aka De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive] a few years ago,” Ghul adds. “That was received very well. We have been playing together for so long now with this lineup that we feel we have reached a point where we are a seriously well-oiled machine. It seemed like a natural step to try to capture this moment in the band’s history, with the same setlist we have been using for a while.”
Mayhem have nearly 1,000 shows to their name. Since their formation Langhus, Norway in 1984, the band—now comprised of Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—have brought their brand of bellicose, preternatural black metal to over 60 countries. From the United States and Germany to Australia and Brazil, Mayhem have stunned, bewildered, and turned rabid a global legion, dedicated as much to the band’s infamous legacy as they are staunchly in support of Daemon. Much of that respect and devotion started in the early ‘90s, but persisted to the present day on the strength of official live albums Live in Leipzig (1993), Mediolanum Capta Est (1999), Live in Marseille 2000 (2001) and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive (2016). Mayhem continue their on-stage assault with Daemonic Rites.
“I knew from day one back in 1984 that this band was going to be outstanding—one of the best bands ever!” Necrobutcher says. “I guess that’s a big reason why we still are here after 39 years—and counting.”
“Well, for the first time in a long time, we felt again like a unit, musically,” continues Hellhammer. “That’s something we haven’t felt in a long time, and that shows in the live recording.”
Daemonic Rites wasn’t pre-planned. Rather, they had sound engineer/producer Tore Stjerna (of Necromorbus Studio fame) record everything—just for posterity, in fact—during the group’s Northern Ritual MMXXII and Thalassic Ritual tours of 2022 and early 2023. Mayhem and Stjerna pilfered the gems, resulting in gigs from London (“Life Eternal,” “Malum”), Manchester (“My Death,” “Silvester Anfang”), and Gothenburg (“Pure Fucking Armageddon,” “To Daimonion”) coming out on top. The penultimate Mayhem live album wouldn’t be complete without “Freezing Moon” and “Pagan Fears”—both from Csihar’s hometown of Budapest, Hungary—as well as newer tracks “Falsified and Hated” and “Bad Blood” from Sydney and Melbourne, respectively. Daemonic Rites showcases the two-time Norwegian Grammy (aka Spellemannprisen) winners at the pinnacle of their live potential.
“We play the songs that feel the best live,” Hellhammer says. “We have in the past tried out a lot of different songs from former eras, but when you play live for an audience, the songs must have IT. If they don’t, even if they are good songs, they won’t fit in a live setting.”
Adds Teloch: “We have a vast catalog by now with so many different types of songs. It’s interesting to make them all work together in a full concert.”
Daemonic Rites comes off the heels of Mayhem’s incredible Beyond the Gates 2022 performance, where they uncaged cult classic De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas not far from where it was originally recorded by Eirik ‘Pytten’ Hundvin (Enslaved, Emperor, Immortal) in Grieghallen during 1992/1993. The live album, however, was mixed and mastered over in neighboring Sweden. Stjerna, who also assisted with Daemon, took the phantasmagoric collection of tracks to his lair at Necromorbus Studio, where his sole job was to preserve Mayhem’s raw, unbridled energy and ghastly electricity. From “Falsified and Hated” and “My Death” to “Buried by Time and Dust” and “Carnage,” they’ve never had the quality of a live album quite like Daemonic Rites. If the past is always alive, this is a live album on par with Venom’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Emperor’s Emperial Live Ceremony, and Gorgoroth’s Black Mass Krakow 2004.
“It fits with where we are now, or more precisely, where we were at the time of the recording,” says Hellhammer.
“[The live recordings] capture the spirit and energy,” furthers Ghul, “of where we are as a band right now.”
Indeed, Mayhem have been and continue to operate at a level not yet witnessed. While atavists will always relish the Deathcrush or Live in Leipzig lineups, Hellhammer’s drum performance against the twin terrors of Teloch and Ghul is the purest black magic on Daemonic Rites. Similarly, Csihar’s hair-raising caterwauling and spectral snarls atop Necrobutcher’s seventh-hell low end is witching-hour great! To support Daemonic Rites, Mayhem have videos for Daemon-era masterpiece “Malum” and late-‘80s Killjoy dedication “Chainsaw Gutsfuck” lined up. Daemonic Rites is the perfect guillotine while the group craft new songs and conspire with others on what the group’s 40th Anniversary next year might entail. Mayhem are likely in their final form, and they’ve never been deadlier.
Album of the year contenders DÅÅTH today unveil their video for “Unwelcome Return.” The track comes by way of the band’s latest full-length (and first new studio output in fourteen years) The Deceivers, released last Friday via Metal Blade Records.
The Deceivers is at once a devastating reminder and giant leap forward that showcases the technical wizardry and brutal intensity that the Atlanta, Georgia-bred band is capable of. Band founder/guitarist Eyal Levi has overseen an overhaul of the lineup, though importantly DÅÅTH still features force-of-nature vocalist Sean Zatorsky, who has fronted the band since 2007. Together they are now joined by Kerim “Krimh” Lechner on drums, Jesse Zuretti on orchestration and guitar, Rafael Trujillo on lead guitar, and David Marvuglio on bass.
“Now DÅÅTH is more orchestrated, more over the top. We have more melodies and they’re beautiful,” Levi says. That’s what The Deceivers is: Monstrously heavy but beautifully orchestrated, blessed with melodies that will haunt anybody fortunate enough to hear it. The nine tracks were produced by Levi, with Andrew Wade doing vocal production, John Douglass engineering, Jens Bogren mixing, and Tony Lindgren mastering.
Guest guitar solos are contributed across numerous tracks by Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy), Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Dean Lamb (Archspire), Per Nilsson, (Scar Symmetry, Meshuggah), Spiro Dussias (Platonist), and Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Kills), with renowned video game composer Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal) contributing sound design and synth to “Purified By Vengeance.”
Comments Zuretti on “Unwelcome Return,” “What if Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman were scored by an epic orchestral metal band and not Danny Elfman? You can find out by listening to ‘Unwelcome Return’ – a vigilante track that lives in darkness, punishes offenders, and disappears into the night. It’s the sound of gothic era classical music fused at the lungs with furious vocals, pummeling drums, razor sharp guitar riffs, infernal orchestral composing, and wicked sound design. If someone tried stopping this track from playing, ‘Unwelcome Return’ would eviscerate anything standing in its way.”

DÅÅTH began their journey in 1999 and stayed busy for just over a decade before its 2011 hiatus. In that time, the band released four studio albums – Futility in 2004, The Hinderers in 2007, The Concealers in 2009, and their self-titled LP in 2010. Tours with Slayer, Nile, Cattle Decapitation, Dark Funeral, Cynic, Dragonforce, Goatwhore, Chimaira, Dying Fetus, and Devildriver followed. DÅÅTH also landed a coveted spot on Ozzfest playing before tens of thousands of fans in outdoor amphitheaters across the US, in addition to the infamous and long-running metal tour Summer Slaughter.
After twelve years on hiatus, DÅÅTH found their ideal new home at Metal Blade, signing to the label and wasting no time creating new music, cover songs (Death‘s “The Philosopher” and Morbid Angel‘s “Where the Slime Live“) and reissuing previous albums. The first new song from the revitalized DÅÅTH, “No Rest No End” (released ahead of the album in February 2023), features guest solos by Spiro Dussias and now-DÅÅTH member Trujillo, who impressed Levi so much while guesting on the track that he was invited to join the band.

Today is released “MANKIND”, a new work by Simone Carnaghi‘s home project It Will Last! A new musical chapter, within which dear Simone gave his all, creating everything completely by himself! From composition, to writing, to recording etc etc. A truly unique masterpiece! The record is available on all worldwide music stores, on Wanikiya Record’s Shop in Japan and within the showcase on Crash Sound Distribution! Ready to enter the amazing world of “IT WILL LAST?”
“Mankind” is the third and newest album by musician/teacher multi-instrumentalist and composer Simone Carnaghi and, specifically, is the second album in the discography of his It Will Last project.
As has been the case with Simone’s previous albums, “Mankind,” the successor to “Nightmares in daylight” produced by Simone himself and released in 2021 on the “Wanikiya Record” label, is the exclusive fruit of a single mind, his own. This is the main peculiarity of the album.
In fact, Simone took care of the whole album as a true “one man band”:
composition and arrangement of all tracks (music and lyrics).
performance and recording of all instruments for all tracks on the album (electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums).
In addition to this, the novelty for this album is that in addition to everything else, he also dedicated himself to all the lead vocals. Being a very personal album, Simone was driven by a strong desire to sing all his own lyrics totally immersing himself in his “It Will Last” project and thus consolidating the idea of “one man band.”
entire album production, recording, mixing, mastering at his private recording studio with rehearsal room/classroom in Rescaldina (Mi).
Uniquely for the backing vocals, as Simone is very passionate about this element within music, in addition to his backing vocals, three other people participated (in order to have different vocal timbres available), including, his wife Maria (as for the previous album), Daniel Reda (former lead singer on “nightmares in daylight”) and finally, another close friend of his, singer Simone Delcuratolo.
“Mankind” is the result of a lot of passion for music and specifically, heavy metal and hard-rock with progressive influences.
So many are Simone’s musical influences, starting with his beloved Iron Maiden from the golden eighties period, Savatage, Judas Priest, Stryper, Dokken, Rush and many more.Nowadays, after all these years, inventing something new in music has become very difficult, almost everything has already been experimented with. “Mankind” represents for Simone, the research and selection of elements present in heavy metal/hard rock music, and not only, so dear and appreciated to him. These various elements have been revisited with his musical idea, trying to give a touch of personality to the songs and, above all, trying to avoid following any kind of “trend/fashion.” “Mankind” is about the selfishness of human beings, in all its forms, towards others and the world we live in. This leads to sad consequences that tend to get worse and worse with each passing year. It would take very little, even the smallest gestures could really improve so many things. Simone’s message in her songs is strong; it is an album full of emotions. Despite everything, the theme of hope is still always present.
More information:
Simone Carnaghi is a multi-instrumentalist (bass/guitar/drums) musician, composer/arranger, and teacher of bass, drums, guitar, and ensemble music with many years of teaching experience (since as far back as 2006). His great passion for composition began very early and after the first several demos in the early 2000s, in 2011, his first multi-instrumentalist album entitled “Slender Hopes” was released. This project was quite different from Simone’s current compositions for her “It Will Last” albums, however it was a great source of inspiration and the beginning of an ambitious path from a musical point of view, wanting to take care of all compositions, instrument recordings and more from the very beginning in total autonomy. The “It Will Last” project came to life in late 2018 “Nightmares in Daylight” (2021) was the first “It Will Last” cd-album .
The entire album was written, played (all instruments), recorded, mixed and mastered by Simone in his private studio in Rescaldina (Mi). “Nightmares in Daylight” is a concept album about aspects that are slowly “consuming” the world we live in. A few years later here is the new concept album “Mankind” the continuation and especially the evolution of the previous “Nightmares in daylight,” especially in the music. It is in fact a rather articulated album, never predictable, rather unpredictable in the structure and arrangement of the various tracks. It is an album that requires several listens, being full of details. Good headphone listening is also recommended to take full advantage of the stereophonic effect of this album. At the moment, the project” It Will Last” does not plan to be taken to the stage, but… the rest of the story is yet to be written….
“Entfesselt” marks a breakthrough, a new era of Melodic Viking Death Metal act ASENBLUT.
Years of changing line-ups and internal struggles have come to an end, and the band only knows one direction: forward! In support of their record release, ASENBLUT have announced a series of summer shows. Find all upcoming dates listed below!
Today, the band is premiering a music video for their first album single “Unbesiegbar”, ASENBLUT frontman Tetzel comments: “We often sink our heads in shame for things we can’t control and had no part in. So let’s take a step back and look at the whole picture. Look at what humanity has achieved. We conquered the sea, the lands, and the sky, even starting to shoot for the stars. Stop frowning upon what we have done to be where we are. Humanity can be awesome if we realize our potential! Together we are invincible, adaptable, and strong!“
Even though the album is not a concept album per se, the album title “Entfesselt”, German for unleashed, certainly gives the direction and right impression at first glance; there is just no holding back anymore. “Entfesselt” turned out rougher, more direct and more powerful than any ASENBLUT album before! 10 tracks filled with raw energy and emotion, considering the lowest lows and celebrating the highest highs.
The songwriting was done by Balrogh in close colaboration with Tetzel, who directed the songs and wrote all the lyrics. It is no coincidence that the choruses of a lot of songs draw you in and make you sing along and pump your fist! For the sound, the band decided to go a bit more in-your-face: Big guitars, strong and harsh growls and thundering drums.
Featuring guest appearances of such as Askeroth of Nachtblut and Matthias Mente (Deliver The Galaxy), “Entfesselt” was produced, mixed and mastered by Maté Balogh, with an additional mastering by Andrea Testori at Streetrec Studio. The cover artwork was designed by Nick Greenwood.

Experience Asenblut with all their usual power and renewed fire!
The month-long weekend tour starting at the end of August and throughout September 2024 comes with a killer billing: The melo-deathers Deliver The Galaxy, the melodic black punk combo LaVila from Osnabrück, Germany, and the Viking / symphonic black metal band Black Messiah support Asenblut on their journey through 9 cities in Germany and an exclusive stop in Austria.“
