EARTH LUX will release their self-titled debut album on 23 August on Metalville Records.
EARTH LUX is a new band formed by French composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Steph Honde and Brazilian composer and drummer Fred Mika.
Both musicians had previously worked together in the band Sunroad.
In early 2023, Steph and Fred decided to form a parallel band focussing on melodic hard rock, but also incorporating some 70s influences.
Shortly after songwriting began, Fred contacted his German friend, singer, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Voss (Michael Schenker Group, Mad Max, Casanova) to take over the bass guitar for EARTH LUX.
And, close to the other musician partnerships, such as the British musician and producer Steve Mann (Eloy, Lionheart MSG), who lives in Germany, for keyboards lines recordings, and the last member was completed by the Irish singer Robin McAuley (Grand Prix, Survivor, Black Swan and also MSG).
A short time later, McAuley was suddenly called to rejoin MSG as the definitive singer, replacing Ronnie Romero, who decided to leave the group to pursue a solo career.
Fred contacted another friend, American composer, singer and bassist Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ring Of Fire, Uli Jon Roth) to replace Robin (who had even completed one of the album’s lyrics). So by mid-2023, EARTH LUX was fully formed and hungry for the first album.
The album artwork was created by well-known British designer Tristan Greatrex, who has already worked for Lionheart, MSG, UFO and many other artists.

Ten days before the official release of their new album “Raw Blood Singing“, Berlin-based duo INSECT ARK unveil the full stream. Over the course of 45 dynamic minutes, Dana Schechter (SWANS) and Tim Wyskida (KHANATE) deliver eight doomy, psychedelic and poignant soundscapes filled with unexpected twists and turns. “Raw Blood Singing” is a deeply immersive and darkly atmospheric experience.
Vocalist and founder Dana Schechter shares insights into the creation of “Raw Blood Singing“:
“Writing this album was a new experience – in context for the history of the band, it started out similar to the others: I made elaborate demos by myself, writing and recording bass, lap steel guitar, synthesizers, and electronic drums; I wrote all the arrangements, chord progressions, and melodies. What made this album different was, when Tim Wyskida joined the band, it felt like a new creative chapter was opening as it became obvious that the music would benefit from his ideas, so we decided to see how far we could push the songs. We ended up chopping, rebuilding and rearranging a lot of the material. This process was a huge inspiration for us both and fostered our bond as a creative writing pair. The album concept is based more on our life views than lyrical content; primarily with the idea of impermanence and as humans existing as energy shifting, of retaining a deliberate presence. The actual studio recordings were preceded by my demos, followed by the heavy re-working Tim and I did to refine the material, which included a lot of experimentation. We didn’t rush any part of it, and we worked long days every day in our studio, for about a year.“

“Raw Blood Singing” will be released on CD, vinyl and digital on June 7th. Specially designed t-shirts will accompany the launch. Pre-orders are possible via DMP‘s EU, US and Bandcamp shops.
INSECT ARK will play a release show for their new album in Berlin, Neue Zukunft (Germany) on June 7th. Get tickets here!
INSECT ARK have also confirmed the following two festival appearances:
12-14.07.2024 – Red Smoke Festival, Pleszew (Poland) 10.11.2024 – Amplifest, Porto (Portugal)
Dripping and lurching horror films, gritty noir textures, crushing weight and viciously sensual delicacy: INSECT ARK is raw, ominous, desolate, and fearlessly unique.
INSECT ARK is the duo of American artists Dana Schechter (bass, lap steel, synths, vocals – also a member of SWANS) and Tim Wyskida (drums, percussion – also a member of KHANATE). The band is based in Berlin.
“Raw Blood Singing” – the band’s fourth full-length – is the result of a year’s writing. With a shared obsession with innovation and distillation, the duo merged and created an album that offers a sonic landscape which vacillates between sensory overload and isolation in a seething void.
“Raw Blood Singing” will be released 07.06.2024 on Debemur Morti Productions.

Progressive death metal duo ENTHEOS today unleashes their latest single, “Life In Slow Motion.” The track, and accompanying video, follows the band’s crushing “An End To Everything” single released last month and serves as a precursor to the music to come later this year.
Elaborates vocalist Chaney Crabb, “‘Life In Slow Motion’ is a song about seeing life through the eyes of drug addiction and the ways that it affects not only the addict, but the people who surround them. It’s about wanting to return to a moment in life where the addiction took over and pondering what could have happened if things went another direction. Musically, this is one of the heaviest and fastest songs that we’ve written. We wanted the music to make listeners feel the tension that builds in the track, which ultimately is released with one of our heaviest breakdowns.”

Incorporating elements drawn from myriad genres – including death metal, groove, grunge, electronica, slam, gothic rock, jazz, prog and more – and pushing progressive death metal in ever more imaginative directions, Time Will Take Us All proved that ENTHEOS continues to evolve with every release. Metal Hammer UK lauded a band, “poised to morph from a promising project into tech metal titans,” New Noise Magazine championed, “one of the best versions of modern riff-y progressive death metal we have now,” while Loudwire added, “the band plays with lockstep precision, turning the gears of their technical death metal machine as it steamrolls forward.”

And also, while waiting to see the official video of the single “Blood Dress”, we leave you the video clip of the previous single “My Secret Suicide” so as to give you those atmospheres that by now have made the Music From The Dark project a recognizable brand from the start!
From the Band: “For the cover, we thought of the single as if it were a new release of a real record… a new challenge where we dare to do something different every time that arouses interest…”
Despair leads to isolation, isolation discourages, everything decays!!! From this dark point in life takes strength the project Music From The Dark +++ A deep black soul duo that draws from bands like the cure, paradise lost, katatonia, joy division to unite in a deep sound of sad and decadent torment.
Line up: MARCO MAGNONI (VOCALS/GUITARS). Historical voice/guitarist of BLACKAGE with an active record “New world order” released 1998 x Collapse Records. At that time BLACKAGE will back up Cradle of Filth and left for a tour in which they participated in many festivals including Beach bum in Jesolo with headliner Marilyn Manson. There will be participations in other Goth/Dark projects but the idea of reuniting with his old friend and historical drummer “MAX” to found “Music from the dark ” will happen only in 2020 during the black time of covid.. In that forced period of isolation and total darkness came the band’s most decadent and despair-filled pieces.
MAX TOSI (DRUMS) Born as a drummer in the very early era of Modenese heavy metal. Of clear Classic Metal mold , shares the very first youthful experiences with “MARCO” establishing a friendship that has always been maintained over the years despite different were projects and musical directions. Always belonging to the underground fabric participates in several projects ranging from Classic Metal , Stooner and finally Horror Rock with local bands preferring projects aimed at the creation of original music. From him the idea to restart from a historical friendship, absolutely trusted with which to concretize musical models and approaches now lost in time.
