Evil Becomes Rule isn’t merely a musical endeavor, but an artistic expression that blends elements of gothic rock, post-punk, and dark pop, cultivating a poetic aesthetic that is certain to continue to influence the next wave of gothic rock.

TRYLION was founded in 2013 in Poznań. Since then, the band has released two records: an EP and an album titled “Education for Freedom” – both got great worldwide reviews. Musically, Trylion combines rhythmic riffs with ambient sounds and heavy, alternating clean vocals. The significant contrast in their songs makes their overall sound diverse, fitting within the realm of progressive metal with a focus on modern playing. The band’s themes revolve around life and death, exploring human existence.
In 2023, Trylion won the main prize in a competition organized by the Materiafest festival. This victory led them to perform alongside bands such as Sepultura, Decapitated, and Humanity’s Last Breath. In 2024 they won first level of qualification in Poland for playing at Bloodstock in UK. This year they are going to play alive at Metal Mine Festival (PL) and Euroblast (DE).
TRYLION released new song titled “Human Shell” together with videoclip created by band leader Bartosz Stachowiak with fractals CGI done by Julius Horsthuis (Meshuggah, Ayreon). Emil Reitan from Icicle Studios – known for example from the Norwegian band Frostbitt is responsible for the mix and mastering. Vocals and video shots were recorded, among other places, at mollDur in Mosina, and special thanks to Piotr Selke for his support in terms of space and infrastructure.
Single “Human Shell” as well as “Black Clay” are a foretaste of upcoming full album titled “Golden Age” which will out in 2025.
Bartosz comments new song and video: “I tried to reflect the lyrics of the song, but in a different form. We often touch on the theme of internal struggle between good and evil. Because a person can often feel alienated from themselves in many life situations, I decided that these alien structures and characters could be an interesting visualization of the song. We returned to collaboration with Julius Horsthuis, who is still active in fractal animations. I’ll remind you that our song “Point Of View” (https://youtu.be/hZKgLP6XCas) was the first in which we used such animations (it will be 10 years since its premiere in September!) It’s worth noting that in the meantime, Julius also produced videos for Meshuggah (https://youtu.be/oFiDcazicdk). The whole thing was inspired by HR Giger’s style, of which I am a fan.“
Anglo-Finnish progressive metallers Wheel recently announced the release of their much-anticipated third studio album ‘Charismatic Leaders’ on the 3rd May 2024. The album was meticulously crafted to meet Wheel’s ever-heightening benchmarks and recording with engineers/co-producers Daniel Bergstrand and Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah) stretched from August to December 2023. The end result, mixed by Forrester Savell, has consolidated all the gains of what came before: singer/guitarist James Lascelles, lead guitarist Jussi Turunen and drummer Santeri Saksala’s third album represents their heaviest and most conscious music to date.
Vocalist & guitarist James Lascelles comments of the track: “Disciple is a heated debate between a current and an ex-cult member and both believe they are saving the other – they are also utterly unwilling to consider the opposing point of view.
The discourse between these two made up characters is a reflection of multiple topical debates in modern society and the writing process has given me a chance to reflect on my own behaviour; particularly how I respond to ideas I strongly dislike.”
The band are set to play their first ever Australian dates this week, alongside label-mates Caligula’s Horse. This kicks off the bands world tour in support of ‘Charismatic Leaders’.
The album’s first single ‘Empire’ was released last month, and the video currently has over 220k views. Watch it now here: https://youtu.be/jYfb53AjQwc
‘Charismatic Leaders’ clocks in at just under 50 minutes, and will be available as a Limited CD Digipak (also featuring the Rumination EP tracks as bonus), and a Gatefold 180g LP, both featuring artwork from Lucas Mayer (Long Distance Calling, Blackout Problems).
The full track-listing is as follows: 1. Empire 04:20 2. Porcelain 07:12 3. Submission 10:46 4. Saboteur 09:01 5. Disciple 04:12 6. Caught in the Afterglow 01:12 7. The Freeze 10:35
As mentioned, the band will be celebrating the release of their new album with their first ever shows in Australia (supporting label-mates Caligula’s Horse) as well as their first ever North American headline shows. Later in the year the band will return to Europe for further headline dates, and you can find the full list below:

Then, 2021 follow-up Resident Human received rave reviews from publications across the planet, praising its sonic evolution and bravely dystopian themes.
On May 23rd, Grand Massive will release new material with “Houses Of The Unholy” to shorten the waiting time until the next (really) longplayer, but that doesn’t mean that this is just a “gap filler”. The 5 doomy, and above all massive, metal songs have a playing time of over 27 minutes and also represent a really special release: For example, original drummer Holger Stich was on drums for the recordings and Randy M Salo, another old companion of the band, was on bass.
As a truly special treat, almost all the solos on “Houses Of The Unholy” were recorded by Bay Area legend Doug Pearcy! With “Jump In The Fire”, the band has also put a Metallica classic in a doomy, massive garment!
For the opener of the new output “Those From The Shadows” there is now a video clip on the MDD YouTube channel! Check it out!

In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.
Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”
That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.
Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”
Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.
He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.
Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.
Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’ remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.
Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pool and Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.
For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”
TORTURE SQUAD, one of the most renowned bands in Brazilian metal, released the long-awaited new album, titled ‘Devilish’. Continuing with the promotion of the album, they released a new version of the track “Warrior”.
The single and music video feature the participation of Leather Leone, an iconic American vocalist, who brought the energy of 80s metal to the song. “Warrior” is a tribute to Rickson Gracie, the resilient Jiu Jitsu fighter, considered one of the sport’s greatest legends.
‘ ‘Warrior is a song for all the warriors arround the world , inspired by the philosophies of life of fhe brazilian Jiu Jitsu master Rickson Gracie. This new version brings Leather Leone as our very special guest, mixing Heavy and Thrash Metal singing by two female metal singers from different generations, as a symbol of fight and resistence”.
Leather Leone will also make a special appearance at the Torture Squad show at Summer Breeze Open Air Brasil, celebrating the diversity and strength of women in heavy metal. The show will take place at the Memorial da América Latina, in São Paulo, on Sunday, April 28th.
In their second album with the new lineup, Mayara Puertas (Voice), Rene Simionato (Guitar), Castor (Bass) and Amilcar Christófaro (Drums) maturely transcend the sound of extreme metal, incorporating progressive metal, influences from Brazilian music and symphonic elements. “Devilish” promises to shake up the Brazilian metal scene and give it new international visibility.
‘Devilis’ is available on digital platforms and in physical version.
