Sol Negate, the brainchild of composer and guitarist Edoardo Curatolo, is thrilled to present the lyric video for the track “A Mind That Bleeds”. The song is a standout from their concept album “On the Verge of Dreaming Again”, which is set to be re-released on March 8, 2024, via Wormholedeath.
“A Mind That Bleeds” takes listeners on a profound journey into the heart of human existence. The lyrics pose the timeless question, “Who am I?” and delve into the complexities of self-identity within societal constructs. The track is a testament to Sol Negate’s ability to blend symphonic elements with progressive death metal, creating a unique soundscape that is both intense and thought-provoking.
Sol Negate, a symphonic progressive death metal band formed by Edoardo Curatolo in Seattle, combines classical composition with modern instruments, influenced by progressive rock/metal, classical music, and extreme metal. Their music is both symphonic and heavy, departing from traditional structures, and aiming to create a unique musical experience. In 2023, their debut album “On the Verge of Dreaming Again” challenged the boundaries of progressive death metal, featuring contributions from drummer Sebastian Lanser and vocalist Riley McShane.
“On the Verge of Dreaming Again” is a concept album about death and dreams. It is the journey your mind takes as you die, reliving moments of the life you had flashing through your mind’s eye, and how you experience that fall into death. Each track moves over time, how innocuous experiences can mark and combine, how your perception of events can haunt you, and how one may reflect upon that at the moment of death. It was made to be experienced from front to back, late in the evening, with some headphones… I hope it can provide a personal experience that grows with each listen.
Edoardo composed, recorded, and produced everything other than drums and vocals; the band worked with Sebastian Lanser (Obsidious, ex-Obscura) for drums, Riley McShane for vocals (Continuum, ex-Allegaeon), and the great Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio for mixing/mastering.

Los Angeles-based dark melodic metal outfit Witherfall proudly presents the new music video for the single “What Have You Done?”. Their upcoming fourth full-length album“Sounds Of The Forgotten” will be released on May 31st 2024 via DeathWave Records.
Commenting on the track, the band explains:
“The mood pervading the ‘Sounds Of The Forgotten’ writing sessions was one of frustration and sadness. Already our current decade has seen a disproportionate amount of strife we were barely at the beginning of it. Just as we were starting to see some light at the end of the ‘plague’ then the real bogey that lurks in the shadows showed itself. We take no comfort in that the most devastating virus to plague our civilization this decade is not Covid, it is misinformation.
What Have You Done?
At the beginning of composing the song we had a feeling it was going to be the album’s closing piece. The three movements that carry you through to its musical conclusion mirrored real life for us in a profound way. The song is an ode to despair. A dark reminder that like Icarus we are all fallible and prone to misdeeds. Hopefully that light at the end of the tunnel we thought we were seeing can make its way to us and shine a light into a brighter future.”
