VOLTUMNA have released their new EP “For Death Is Fate”. To celebrate their comeback the band also unveils the visualizer for the track “Vanth”.
The band states: “‘Vanth’ is the muse behind ‘For Death Is Fate,’ featured on the EP’s cover. She accompanies the deceased with the Etruscan Charun on their last journey. Her torch illuminates the darkness and points the way into Hades. ‘Vanth’ is definitely the most decisive and extreme track from the EP, a track which perfectly reconciles our death metal roots with the new path taken by the band.“
The Lazio lineup is led by guitarist, vocalist and sole original member Haruspex, now joined by drummer Augur Veii and singer, bassist, producer and main composer Phersu. The genre proposed by VOLTUMNA can fall under the current of blackened death metal of the Polish school. A style that, while partly drawing on the sounds of the best Behemoth, over time has been able to enrich itself with the most varied influences, from the Swedish death metal of At The Gates and Dismember to the melodic black metal of Dissection, Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir.
Armed with an ancestral connection to their Etruscan roots, VOLTUMNA‘s concept and music focus on a historical and anthropological reinterpretation of the ancient world followed by a harsh critique of the long and inexorable phase of decay that runs through the modern world.

Expedition One inspires with a wide range of diverse compositions and an intelligent sci-fi story that couldn’t be more topical. In addition, their fourth album offering manifests the musicians’ amazing artistic development. METALITE‘s visionary sci-fi trip is told over sixteen multi-faceted songs that combine the quintet’s many strengths: powerful and at the same time delicate guitar riffs and solos, anthemic melodies courtesy of vocalist Erica Ohlsson, driving rhythms and cleverly positioned keyboard parts. Expedition One was produced by guitarist Edwin Premberg, and was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen.
This year, the melodic death/thrashers of FINAL CRY are celebrating their 35th anniversary and look back on 6 albums and a total of over 10,000 records sold. To mark the occasion, the band from Lower Saxony will be playing a few selected festival shows in summer (Metal Frenzy, Wipfelbeben, MUR) and some hand-picked club shows before inviting to their own “Anniversary Fest” in Hanover/Subkultur on October 26th, which already promises a worthy billing along with special guests.
As a kick-off to their anniversary year, the band release “The Beckoning Silence”, the first video clip of their 35-year career, as a thank you to their fans! The Song is taken from the current album “The Ever-Rest”, which was released in 2022 via MDD Records, and impressively stages the core theme of the concept album with both majestic and dramatic scenes. The live footage also used in the clip comes from the show at B58 in Braunschweig on December 9th last year and was recorded by Carsten Brand/brandlicht.de. WITHOUT WARNING, the new promising Finnish modern metal act who opened recent live shows for Fear Of Domination among others, has released their 6th single called “New Order” with a music video. The single is a provocative dive into the destruction of humanity. “New Order” takes its listeners to a dystopian world where the machine pulse gets fused with heavy electronic and melodic elements. With the new single, the band also showcases their updated look in their outfits which has grown to become a noticeable element.
– As I was writing the song, I wanted to support the band’s concept while showcasing our heavier and dramatic sides. With the familiar melodic elements that have become staples in our music, this song roams through chaotic atmospheres that also support the lyrical themes of the song. “New Order” provides a strong musical experience, but also awakens you to ponder how technology affects our society. The single can also be described as a soundtrack from an anxiety filled future, where the artificial intelligence birthed by mankind wants to create a new start by tyranny. Along with the strong lyrics, Without Warning has been able to create a unique atmosphere which sticks to the listener.
-The single is a song about our concept in Without Warning, where we view the story from three different angles. We have built a fictional backstory and theme for the band where an evil artificial intelligence named Omega wants to destroy humankind to build a new future. We, the members of the band, use the term “disciples” when referring to ourselves and we are the creation of Omega. The messengers. In “New Order” you can hear the desperate realization the humankind faces, Omega’s bittersweet thirst for revenge and the disciple’s final warning for what is to come. Finnish folk metal superstars KORPIKLAANI have released a brand new single called ‘Saunaan‘, the first song to whet your appetite for their upcoming new studio album, Rankarumpu, which is due to be released on April 5th, 2024. The pre-order for the album starts today!
Rankarumpu, like the two previous records, was executed with recording / mixing engineer and producer Janne Saksa. It seems that the collaboration between the band and Saksa has reached a whole new level with Rankarumpu.
KORPIKLAANI‘s twelfth studio album is once again full of tasty folk metal and its different flavors, but it also offers new spices. One of the most wonderful features of Rankarumpu is related to the folk instruments. Although KORPIKLAANI has done one or maybe even a couple of unforgettable things in the realm of folk metal, this time new permanent member Olli Vänskä‘s violin and Sami Perttula‘s accordion may surprise even die-hard fans.
One of the best showcases of this new chapter in KORPIKLAANI‘s career is the fast paced, violin-driven and playful folk metal tune ‘Saunaan‘. With its irresistable lead melody and a chorus for the ages, ‘Saunaan‘ is one of the strongest KORPIKLAANI songs to date, and it should fill any fan of the genre with pure delight.
Olli Vänskä commented: “I actually composed ‘Saunaan’ already months before I even knew I would be playing for Korpiklaani. I was working on an upbeat folk metal song and less surprisingly KK – Kings of Folk Metal – was definitely one of the influences.
Then, one thought led to another and suddenly I found myself actually playing for Korpiklaani and we were talking about material for an upcoming album. One night during a festival van ride I played a couple of demo tracks for the guys and Jonne was immediately giving me thumbs up. We worked with the arrangement a little bit and the end result is a pretty pretty good song!”
