January 12th, 2024 MARTILA released their second single. New crew, now with no less than three guys by the last name MARTILA. Nils Ivar Martila from CLAYMORDS has joined forces with his cousins, that are also brothers, Emil and Niklas Martila from VALD HEKS. Together with Bjarne Olsen from Th1s !s Bus1ness the gang is now to release the single DEAD BIRDS FLYING.
Previous single release by MARTILA was a 11:30 minute song featuring a duet with Norways biggest country/blues legend Steinar Albrigtsen. Titled THE PALE AND THE STORM.
It is now set for a new era with more songs ready for 2024. First out is DEAD BIRDS FLYING. Title is inspired by the massive amount of birds dying in Norway in 2023. The title is still just a metaphor the message in the song.

CREW NILS IVAR MARTILA is the founder, vocalist and composer in CLAYMORDS og MARTILA. CLAYMORDS is celebrating in 2023 30 years as a band. The band has done several international tours. In 2013 CLAYMORDS had the honor of hosting the most northern metal album release at Longyerabyen, Spitsbergen (1 ½ hour from the north pole) Followed up in 2014 playing gigs in the war zone in Ukraine, including city under siege, Donetsk.
Nils Ivar Martila has also founded and organized MARTILA METALFEST TOUR and GIGSWAP ROCKFEST.
EMIL and NIKLAS MARTILA started VALD HEKS in 2019. In 2021 they released their debut EP AETHER. They just finished, and are ready for their debut album in 2024. They are also thE owners of ROTHØLO STUDIO.
BJARNE OLSEN is guitarist of TH1S IS BUS1NESS, and ex-CLAYMORDS.
The Risen Dread is a metal band from Dublin, Ireland who have successfully established themselves as one of the country’s most promising metal acts in recent years. With an EP and a full length already under their belts, they are going to be expanding their discography in the new year, which they tease now with the sinister single and music video “Betrayal”. Guitarist William Ribeiro comments on the single:
“Betrayal, even though I had some of those riffs for a while, is the first song we wrote after the drummer left. We wanted to do the opposite of what we did for our last album, we wanted this track to be straight to the point and not only fast, we wanted it to be aggressive and heavy, with headbanging riffs as well as moshpit parts. I think Betrayal summarizes the dread that rises again from within each band member after this 2023 year. Nothing better than talking about a woman locked up by her mother. Can you imagine how she felt?”
“Betrayal” tells the true story of Blanche Monnier, a socialite who was locked in a tiny room by her mother and brother at age 25 for 25 years in a room without light. Musically, it’s a death metal song, pure and simple with heavy and catchy riffs, fast double bass, and blast beats. As far as their new material goes, this track has a bit of everything. Fans can expect a lot more where it came from, and can also look forward to new elements like the inclusion of choir and orchestra.
The Risen Dread is a powerhouse of death metal and groove metal, and they also draw upon a variety of influences from metalcore to black metal to hone their signature sound. They turn these elements into something fast, heavy, memorable, and accessible. Fans of Lamb Of God, Sepultura, and Deicide.

LOST IN GREY release their first single “The Entourage” as appetizer for the upcoming album “Odyssey into the Grey”.
Even before further details about the new album are known, LOST IN GREY are already taking us on their musical journey, which begins for us backstage.
Vocalist Anne Lill “This new album continues the Grey Realms saga, and this song presents us, the actors, and the characters we are playing. It is also an invitation to the listener to come and join our twisted musical adventure. In the music video we can see the band members in various backstage activities before and after the show.”
Even if the video doesn’t reveal much about the “Odyssey into the Grey”, the music clearly shows where the journey is heading: epic, bombastic and complex, a very well thought-out work of art!
Composer Harri Koskela: “‘The Entourage’ is the bombastic opening track of Lost in Grey’s upcoming fourth album, as well as the first single release. It was also the first song composed for this new album. I tend to like to start the new album composing process by exploring where I would like our music to travel next based on where we ended the previous release. This album was no exception to that, and I truly had a nice, adventurous journey with this song, as well as with the rest of the album songs. Musically ’The Entourage’ represents the album quite well, as most of our main elements are featured on it, and it’s dramatic, complex… a musical rollercoaster.”
The Finnish theatrical metal band LOST IN GREY was founded in 2013 by composer, vocalist and keyboardist Harri Koskela, and lyricist and vocalist Anne Lill Rajala. What originally was planned to be simply a short-term project, soon grew into a full band. Italian grindcore trio NEID have signed to Time To Kill Records for the release of a cover EP entitled “Still Offensive”, set for release on March 15th 2024. With this EP, completed with cover art by famous Italian cartoonist Zerocalcare, the band pays homage to the Italian hardcore scene of the nineties.

“This EP is a tribute to a musically prolific decade, the one that goes from 1990 to early 2000s, which in our humble opinion has been overlooked for a long time, unlike the acclaimed 80’s! We feel connected to the 90’s for many reasons, mostly because some of us took our first steps in that decade, having played in hardcore-punk bands born in that period such as Tmd, Manifold, Razzapparte and Flopdown. It therefore seemed natural to us to revisit and rearrange a bunch of songs from some bands we have always loved”.
NEID formed in Italy in 2007 from the ashes of few other bands active since the mid-90’s in the DIY hardcore scene. NEID were one of the first musical projects in Viterbo to play raw and grinding fastcore with old school Italian hardcore influences. Although you can clearly detect influences of several hardcore and punk subgenres within their sound you can also find many elements of death metal and grindcore, all masterfully weaved together to bring forth a sound that is equally heavy and cathartic.
To date NEID have played more than 400 concerts all over Europe (Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, France, Serbia, Bulgaria, UK, Greece), Asia (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, Taiwan), Russia and America (United States & Cuba).
