GREEN LUNG‘s third studio album, This Heathen Land, was released last week via Nuclear Blast Records. To celebrate, the band have revealed a new video for the track ‘Hunters In The Sky’, and revealed a host of UK/European tour dates for 2024 with support from LOWEN and SPIRIT ADRIFT.
Tom Templar comments “We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has supported the release of THIS HEATHEN LAND over the past week, whether by listening to the album, picking it up in a record shop or spreading the word online – it’s been a joy to see it connect with you all. To celebrate the album release we have one final music video to share with you all.
‘Hunters in the Sky’ was inspired by the Right to Roam movement, who protested the banning of wild camping on Dartmoor last summer. It’s a song about standing up to the English aristocracy’s attempts to control our common land, and a celebration of the beautiful Dartmoor landscape, from Wistman’s Wood to Crockern Tor. We’d always wanted to write a song about the Wild Hunt, one of the most dramatic European folkloric motifs, and hopefully we’ve done it justice. We hope you enjoy it – and huge thanks to Billy Price for directing this and all the other videos for this album, and to Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk for dancing in the video and supplying some incredible folk costumes, especially a truly majestic replica of the Dorset Ooser, who you might see on stage with us soon..”
This Heathen Land Tracklist 1. Prologue 2. The Forest Church 3. Mountain Throne 4. Maxine (Witch Queen) 5. One For Sorrow 6. Songs Of The Stones 7. The Ancient Ways 8. Hunters In The Sky 9. Oceans Of Time
This Heathen Land is the most complete manifestation of the band’s vision to date, fulfilling their long-held goal to, in the words of vocalist Tom Templar, “create the definitive soundtrack to the folk horror film in our heads.” On This Heathen Land, the band have forged a sound and identity that is entirely their own, while maintaining the Sabbathian heaviness and addictive songcraft which made their previous albums so beloved in the metal underground. From the cover art to the vinyl inserts and lyrical themes, This Heathen Land is a painstakingly-researched and executed heavy metal love letter to the folkloric landscape of the UK.
Art by Richard Wells
This Heathen Land was produced by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios and was mixed by Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Clutch, Ghost).

The Asbestos Worker // Naw split 10” is an example of just how hard and fast two noise merchants can be pushed. Naw brings their riff-heavy hardcore blend sprinkled with beautifully venomous lyrics, to thrash out three well-crafted nuke-core tracks. Verses the opposite but equally potent side of the record with absolutely no beauty, only: Asbestos Worker. Bringing its punishing rhythmic song craft. Asbestos Worker cranks out three violently hard-working anthems for the bloody-knuckled persons of industry.
Both Josh of Asbestos Worker and David from Naw expressed their excitement to make their tracks heavier and more brutal than the record’s counterpart. As Josh stated, “We had to go back and go bigger and faster once we heard the Naw songs, they(Naw) really brought it!”
David from Naw said, “We’ve been fans of Asbestos Worker specifically, but also the entire Learning Curve roster, for a long time. So, when the opportunity to collaborate with Asbestos Worker came up we jumped on it.”
Naw hails from Atlanta, GA On the three NAW tracks David of Naw says, “Our three songs are the first batch written after “Head Pain”(2021). They’re also the first collection of songs written specifically for NAW, and not old song ideas that we developed. I think that they really capture the band we’re becoming, and we’re all really excited for the direction the music is going.” So this record is the first true NAW release.
Asbestos Worker is from St Paul, MN, and released a full-length LP, “The Separation” on Learning Curve Records in 2022. Josh spoke of the fun he and his new band had ripping out these three almost thrash noise bangers, “ We were spent after the recording, felt like working double shifts with no days off but loving every second of it”
The Split 10” is a limited edition release on Learning Curve Records and is available on Bandcamp and major streaming sites.
Exactly one year after the release of their game changing #1 charting album, Blood & Glitter (Official German Album Charts), LORD OF THE LOST are back with their first ever covers album, Weapons Of Mass Seduction, set to be released on December 29, 2023 via Napalm Records.
Weapons Of Mass Seduction features plenty of genre-crossing tracks and wraps up the busiest and most successful year in the band’s history so far. In addition to storming the charts with their latest studio album, being invited by the legendary Iron Maiden as special guest on their European tour (again!), numerous sold-out headline shows, and opening gigs for Powerwolf and Amon Amarth, the band represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest Finals in Liverpool in May of this year. LORD OF THE LOST made it clear once again that they do not limit themselves when it comes to genre norms and influences.
Today, the band unveils the opening track of their upcoming offering, an electrifying cover of Billy Idol’s “Shock To The System”! The song arrives with a perfectly fitting music video, underlining its attitude the best possible way.
Chris Harms on “Shock To The System”: “I remember exactly when I heard this song for the first time. I was 13 years old, it was summer and I was sitting in the back of the Opel Manta convertible in which I drove to the open-air pool with my older sister and her boyfriend. Rarely has the energy of a single song gripped me so much. We’d like to give a little bit of that energy back with our tribute to Billy Idol and this song through our cover and accompanying video.”
While the album is entirely composed of covers, Weapons Of Mass Seduction confirms LORD OF THE LOST’s creative ability to make even unexpected songs their own, and further confirms their status. The covers album comes in various different formats – some of them containing a second CD with 11 covers that are already released or have been played live. The deluxe boxset includes a third CD with 10 acoustic tracks, exclusively available in this format.
LORD OF THE LOST state: “During the production of our last album, Blood & Glitter, while recording our Roxette cover ‘The Look’ in Finland, it had already become clear that we had opened Pandora’s box. The energy and fun of covering the songs of beloved and respected colleagues and idols was something we were determined to continue. So even before the release of Blood & Glitter we started working on this ‘covers album’ project, which for us is the perfect dessert to Blood & Glitter, before we embark on the adventure of reinventing ourselves again for a new studio album.”
Weapons Of Mass Seduction features a wide range of songs from different eras and genres performed in true LORD OF THE LOST style, all surprisingly fitting for the band and hence forming a cohesive collection of covers. Classic heavy metal track “Turbo Lover”, originally by Judas Priest, meets modern pop hits in songs such as Sia’s “Unstoppable”, Bishop Briggs’ “River” and Zella Day’s “High”. Ultravox’ “Hymn”, followed by Michael Jackson’s legendary “Give In To Me” and Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know”, expand the multifaceted selection even further. With added rougher elements such as heavier vocals, Bronski Beat’s captivating 80s electro pop hit “Smalltown Boy” gets a dark makeover in the hands of LORD OF THE LOST. The unit’s cover of another legendary 80s song, “(I Just) Died In Your Arms“, features a guest appearance from rising singer-songwriter Anica Russo, who also took part in Germany’s ESC 2023 preliminary round Unser Lied für Liverpool (EN: Our Song for Liverpool). An emotional version of The Pretty Reckless’ “House On A Hill” closes Weapons Of Mass Seduction impactfully.
A special 2CD edition of the new covers album provides a cross-cut of covers previously released or already covered live over the course of LORD OF THE LOST’s career. Among them are the Roxette cover “The Look” feat. Blümchen – already known from Blood & Glitter – “Children Of The Damned”, a homage to Iron Maiden, with whom LORD OF THE LOST experienced intense times during the last two years, and the cover of the Finnish ESC song “Cha Cha Cha” by Käärijä – sung by Chris Harms completely in Finnish.

“Moments of rain” This was written as the album ending in mind. And since our album is a journey we really wanted the listener to feel the journey, like when you close your eyes, you would kind of be dragged into the soundscape and be there. We knew the sound had to be large and epic, and build up to a climax that would stick with you. So hopefully we succeeded
