CUNABULA hails from Vilnius, Lithuania. A dark, deep and crushing phenomenon with disturbing female growls is unlike anything local, or further, metal bands offer. While trying to categorize CUNABULA‘s music one may find that stylistic boundaries are non-existent. Compositions carry post, sludge, progressive, ambient, even black metal sound. And everything melts into a strange organism that breathes relentless darkness.
CUNABULA started in 2016. Their live performances leave listeners in a state of fear and hypnosis. The same would apply to their upcoming new music.
The music for this release was recorded in several Lithuanian recording studios: Lapės Records (drums), Black Box Recordings (vocals), Agirdi Audio (guitar and bass). A Latvian artist, Gints Lundbergs, is responsible for mixing and mastering. His portfolio includes cooperation with, among others, Dissection, Frailty and Skyforger. The album cover was created by Nojus Petrauskas.
Blackened heavy metal outfit NITE are now releasing a brand new music video for ‘The Tident’, which is taken from the band’s sophmore full-length ‘Voices of the Kronian Moon’. The album was released in March 2022 via Season of Mist.
The new offering can now be found at the Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE.
‘Voices of the Kronian Moon’ is still available in the Season of Mist shop HERE.

British rock instrumentalist Michael Alan announces news of his latest video single release for the soulful guitar ballad ‘Butterfly’.
‘Butterfly’ weaves in and out of stylistic leanings towards progressive melodic rock, blues and jazz. Simplicity, tone and melodic guitar lines drive the intended theme of the hope and wonderment of new beginnings. Expressing emotions through melodies is the focal point for the Leeds (UK) based guitarist and this vision entirely shapes the compositional characteristics of his ‘Calling’ debut album.
Drawing inspiration from greats such as Carlos Santana, Gary Moore, Dave Gilmour and many more key influences, Michael Alan strives for his guitar work to have ‘feel’ and ’emotion’. The video single for ‘Butterfly’ features contemporary ballet performances from UK dancer Leah Evans.
Debut album Calling is available on digital & CD format via Sliptrick Records, HERE.
Roel Käller has joined Dutch death metal legends PESTILENCE as their new bassist, replacing Joost van der Graaf, who played with the band from 2019 to 2023, and recorded one album – 2021’s “Exitivim”. Prior to joining PESTILENCE, Käller is best known for his work with symphonic death metallers Mayan.
PESTILENCE‘s mastermind Patrizio Mameli commented: “Roel Käller will be taking over the bass duties from Joost van der Graaf 🤘 We did a practice with him and he proved to be more than capable to fill in the spot. Further, he is the nicest guy, well spoken, loves the same music styles and passed conservatory. I’d like to thank all the bass player participants for their interest, time and effort.”
Roel Käller added: “Hi everyone! I’ve known Pestilence since my teenage years, so joining these guys is something I wouldn’t have dreamed of back then! I feel honored to be taking part of this awesome band’s legacy! The guys in the band have welcomed me in the nicest way, and the musical chemistry already feels great! I can’t wait to get on stage with them and meet you all!! 🤘🤘”
“Exitivm”, the ninth studio album from PESTILENCE, has landed on several Billboard charts, including the top 200 best selling albums. The album charted at #188 on Billboard 200, #23 on Current Hard Music Albums, and #37 on New Artist Albums, in its first week of release.
In 2023, PESTILENCE reissued its early, classic catalog, via Agonia Records. “Malleus Maleficarum” (1988), “Consuming Impulse” (1989), “Testimony of the Ancients” (1991) and “Spheres” (1993) were remastered from scratch at Satanic Audio (Behemoth, Azarath) to significantly improve on overall sound quality, by engaging present-day studio equipment. The newly remastered albums are available in an ample variety of physical formats and on streaming platforms.

SOEN have unleashed the single and video for the title track of their new album Memorial, which is set for release on September 1st via Silver Lining Music. For pre-orders go to this location this location
A meeting of melodic magnitude with face-crushingly heavy guitars and driving rhythms, the new single ‘Memorial’ has a ferocious groove, underlying the weighty subject of war and evocative vocals of Joel Ekelöf.
“It is a song to remind us of the victims of the power games that our so-called leaders play”, comments founding member and drummer Martin Lopez. “It’s about PTSD” explains vocalist and co-founding member Joel Ekelöf, “and the effect war has on people like you and me that are sent to kill and die and have to pay that price for the rest of their lives.”

Never ones to take the restrained path, Soen face down the ills and ways of current society with a crisp, wounded venom that betrays their pain, anger and frustrations. Each guitar carries a greater serrated edge, each melody a richer heart, each lyric a soul and spleen venting definitive proclamation. At the same time, Soen’s unique blend of progression, aggression, and beauty shows more maturity than ever before.
Soen have been building up to this moment for years and now they’re here with Memorial, which is an inspiring modern hard rock classic.
Memorial will be released on September 1st 2023, via Silver Lining Music. Available as a Deluxe CD, 12” Vinyl Album in Black and colour variants, digital formats and special D2C products and bundles. For pre-orders, go to this location
