Finnish noisemongers GOATBURNER return with their new album, “Fatal”, set for release on October 6th 2023 via Time To Kill Records.
Today, the band have released a new single, “Revolving Reaper”, from the forthcoming album. Listen to the song at THIS LOCATION.
GOATBURNER, formed in 2017 and featuring Keijo Niinimaa (ROTTEN SOUND, MORBID EVILS, AGE OF WOE) and Jaakko Forsman (RATFACE, SKULMAGOT), create a caustic atmosphere somewhere between massive sludge and frantic high-speed thrashing. “Fatal” was written in between 2019 and 2022, slowly and steadily and mostly at the rehearsal sessions. The album was recorded and mixed by Kaos at Chaotic Doom Cave studios from May 2022 to November 2022 and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound Studios in early 2023.
GOATBURNER is mostly inspired by their own music (also written for the other groups the members are or have been in) over the years, but sources of inspiration can ben found in the old school death metal scene and bands like Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse and Demigod.
Ripping groovy old school death metal with a twist of sludge and grind, from Helsinki, Finland. GOATBURNER has been doing their duo-based wall of sound and blasting since 2017, including numerous festivals and tours. The band is already releasing their 2nd full length album “Fatal” on October 6th 2023. Discography includes the “Time to Burn” EP from 2018, the “Extreme Conditions” LP from 2019 and the “Danger” EP from 2022.
GOATBURNER hits the stages as a duo, with Kaos plugged into extensive string gear and Spider often in front row with the kit for percussive mayhem. Audiences are constantly dropping their jaws in front of this dynamic duo, wondering if there are any other musicians behind the stage – which isn’t the case obviously.
With more than 50 years of musicianship and over 10 bands under their belt, GOATBURNER is an unstoppable force that will constantly continue taking over new stages around the world.

THE SILENT RAGE have released a lyric-video for ‘Black Monday’ featuring Bob Katsionis (Stray Gods, Warrior Path, ex Firewind), fourth single and third video taken from the new album ‘Nuances of Life’ released in May through Scarlet Records. Order the album here.
‘Black Monday’ is a heartfelt homage to the 103 victims of the 2018 Attica wildfires in Greece – R.I.P.
Video by Stefano Mastronicola
“It is by far the most personal track I ever wrote as a lyricist. Five years ago, on July 23rd of 2018 during the summer wildfires in Mati, Attica, Greece103 people lost their lives and this track is dedicated in loving memory of them. This was one of the biggest disasters that I ever experienced in my life so far and it really affected me as a person and as a human being. You never know what’s going to happen the very next moment, so to me you have to live it like it’s going to be the very last one. I am really thankful that in this track Nikos Sarbanis and Michalis Rinakakis delivered such beautiful melodies that helped embrace my vision about it. It is a way that we mourn together with those families and pay the ultimate tribute to the lost ones. It’s also the track that Bob Katsionis(Stray Gods, ex-Firewind) is taking part in by performing his characteristic performance on keyboards, for which I can’t be thankful enough, since it has given a special tone in the whole track. Of course, one major element is the singing of Michalis in this track, who really got himself into the whole atmosphere and gave a proper feeling of the mourn the song describes. Another fact is that when time came to record my solo part, I was really touched by the passing of a person that had died a few weeks earlier and had a huge impact in my life. Performing my solo part in this song was meant to be another small tribute to a guitar player and a band that I really miss. This man was Miika Tenkula (RIP 1974-2009) and his band was Sentenced”, Nikos Siglidis comments.
“This song was one of the most emotional songs that I had to compose the music for. Nikos Siglidis was very concerned about this tragic fire accident and he decided to make a dedicated song. Later, he told me to write some music for these lyrics, and immediately took the guitar and started composing. By the way, this was a very emotional moment for me as well, as I was about to lose my hometown’s house because of a devastating fire accident in 2015. Even Though I was very furious about these accidents (which were human-made accidents in order to make profit from new buildings, wind turbines etc), I had to write tones for a ballad. About the solo, I wrote a Pink Floyd style crunchy – mellow solo. It is a huge inspiration for me and I wanted not to try to make something impressive, in terms of technique, but something more melodic and atmospheric”, adds Nikos Sarbanis.

At this very moment we would like to take a minute and thank Nikos Palaiologos of SOOC Photo Agency for the letting us use images from that day in our tribute, lyric video. We can’t thank you enough! Also, Stefano Mastronicola for working together with us a second time and doing a tremendous job with the video. Kudos to you, our friend!
Those wildfires devasted Greece and every year since then, wildfires happens again every year. We are living in a never-ending circle that cannot break. Even now, the state of Attica where 4 out of 5 members of the band live, is burning again. Thousands of acres of forests and wildlife turning to ashes, giving no sign of hope for the future. Our only hope is that there will be no more loss of human life to be mourned, no more wildlife to be lost, no more burning soil.
With honor, The Silent Rage

Datalysium, the second full-length studio album from Los Angeles progressive death metal outfit THE ZENITH PASSAGE, is out today on Metal Blade Records! In celebration of its release, a video for the monstrous title track has been unveiled.
Featuring an overhauled lineup that sees original guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist Justin McKinney joined by guitarist Christopher Beattie (Dreamer), vocalist Derek Rydquist (ex-The Faceless, John Frum), and bassist Brandon Giffin (ex-The Faceless, Cynic), Datalysium finds THE ZENITH PASSAGE further pushing disparate influences to the forefront of their sound. Relentless from start to finish, the record is a flawless marriage of technical head-fuckery, atmosphere, melody, and shifting dynamics, constantly demanding the listener’s undivided attention. From opener “The Axiom Of Error” with its stop-start attack to the agitated, richly textured and unstoppable “Synaptic Depravation,” or the dramatic, lush and epic closing title track, THE ZENITH PASSAGE is relentlessly creative and insistently push their sound in interesting, engrossing directions.
Decibel Magazine notes, “The songs move in the same creepy, gangly manner daddy longlegs spider prances across the room when you’re trying to obliterate it with fuzzy slippers.” Metal Wani lauds a, “near-perfect technical death metal record,” adding, “Their skill of playing with tempos and timing continue to astound and amaze, without losing the ferocity of being primarily a death metal band,” while Metal Injection wrote plainly upon hearing “Divinertia II,” “it rips!“
Watch the official video for Datalysium‘s title track at THIS LOCATION.
Datalysium was recorded between McKinney’s home studio and Rydquist’s apartment, with some vocals tracked at Flatline Audio with Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Wake), who also mixed the album. McKinney handled the tracking, while they brought in Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder, John Frum) to produce some of the bass and vocals.
Datalysium is out today on standard LP, limited-edition LP, CD, and digital formats, available at: metalblade.com/thezenithpassage. Also watch the previously released performance video for “Divinertia II” HERE and the video for “Lexicontagion” HERE.
ICE SUCKERS‘ new single ‘You Are Like My Cat’ is released today, available digitally, on all the best music stores, and also on 7″ inch vinyl! Ready to get carried away by the 80s rock sound?
ICE SUCKERS were born from the mind of LGD of Anguish Force as a local Hard’n’Heavy band from the Isarco Valley. Soon the line-up members decided to devote themselves to something else. The pieces for an album, however, are there and LGD decided to record them, calling a lot of friends as guests on the project. The result is a pleasant and at times brilliant record that sounds completely Hardrock 80s. A few years passed and in the meantime the collaboration with Mr. Jack, singer and owner of Wanikyia Record also led to talk about the Ice Suckers and how it would be interesting to give a follow-up to the first record given the enormous potential. Words were not slow to lead to actions and in short time joined the project Ivan Dalia ex Evenfall and already present in the first work, the talented Steve Volta of Perpetual Fire and Pino Scotto band and drummer Luca Bonardi formerly with Monnalyza.
Traditional Philly Metal headbangers CORNERS OF SANCTUARY (COS) have announced their recent signing with SODEHRecords.
The new signing with SODEH Records has select tracks from the COS catalog being reissued and a new cover song EP, “Taking Cover,” available digitally through the label on August 1st.
“We are excited about partnering with SODEH Records,” said COS guitarist and founder Mick Michaels. “We are hitting the ground running with the label and plan to have new music out sooner than later.”
“Taking Cover” will contain previously released cover songs including “Rock of Ages,” “Bringing on the Heartbreak,” and “Breaking the Law.” The digital EP will also include two new cover tracks, The Osmonds‘ “Crazy Horses,” and Warrant‘s “Inside Out.”
“It was a lot of fun working on these covers….definitely a learning experience, “said Michaels.”But our thing is original Heavy Metal….so we are going to be getting back to business moving forward.”
Between shows, the band is currently in the studio working on an all new, original EP titled “Metal Up,” which is slated to release later this fall.
COS has also announced the addition of new bass player David St. John to the band’s lineup.
“DSJ has come out swinging. The energy he’s bringing is not only inspirational, it is contagious…definitely a welcomed addition,” Michaels said.
