Nick Bowcott is a British guitarist best known for founding Grim Reaper. Bowcott founded the band in 1979.
He’s also had several books published, including ones co-written with Kirk Hammett and the late, great Dimebag Darrell. He now works for Sweetwater as a writer & video-maker/ content creator.

Nothing can beat the thrill of Thrash at its best, and no one is keeping the spirit and sound of the genre alive quite like SPACE CHASER. Marking their ten-year anniversary with their third full-length, “Give Us Life“, they returned to force and once again established their importance in the scene. “What we do is contemporary Thrash Metal, if you will, and while still having the ‘old-school’ elements everyone loves, we try to incorporate some of the influences that we expose ourselves to. Over the last ten years, this kind of music progressed a lot, and of course that has its influence on us. But what we do is still Thrash Metal!“

Today, SVALBARD are proud to release a brand-new single, ‘Eternal Spirits’, accompanied by an electrifying, live-performance music video. ‘Eternal Spirits’ is an uncompromising, poignant track, dedicated to the memory of the legendary musicians of our community who we have sadly lost. It showcases Svalbard’s finesse and fiery spirit, where musical ferocity and ethereality interflow, forging an evocative, raging sea. Svalbard are currently working on their fourth studio album.
Svalbard’s Serena Cherry stated, “Eternal Spirits is one of the most tragic songs we have ever written, yet it is also a celebration of legacy and musical heritage. It is a song about late metal musicians who sadly passed away too soon and the loss we feel within the metal community without their presence. This song is a heartfelt tribute to our metal heroes who are gone but will never be forgotten, because their legacy lives on in the millions of hearts they have touched with their music. It’s crushing when your heroes die, but with this song we want to commemorate our late heroes glorious music and the legions of bands they have inspired. That inspiration will never die. On a more personal level, Joey Jordison was the person who inspired me to pick up an instrument. I started learning drums when I was 12 years old because of the energy and passion he exuded from his playing. When I listened to his drumming, every hit gave me a surge of motivation. His creative spark lit a fire within me that will never be extinguished. I’d like to dedicate Eternal Spirits to his memory.”
Svalbard will be touring Europe in March 2023 with Cult Of Luna and Russian Circles, followed by a full spring/summer of European festival performances including; Inferno (Norway), Hellfest (France), Gränichen Open Air (Switzerland), Alkatraz (Belgium), With Full Force (Germany), plus 2000Trees, ArcTanGent and Portals in the UK.

March 17, 2023 will see ELYSION release “Bring Out Your Dead” through Massacre Records, their new offering will be available as CD Digipak, a limited LP Vinyl edition and Digital formats. Following the previously-released, first album single “Crossing Over”, today the quintett has shared a music video for the song “Raid The Universe”!
Says the band: “This song is influenced by one of Christianna’s top favorite movie of all time: Dracula, and we consider this to be one of the rather “alternative” ELYSION songs. The second we heard the first riff, we totally fell in love with it, and Christianna immediately had this idea of travelling through space. What greater proof of love and faith for one than to travel through worlds to join your beloved again! Our first animated video clip represents this concept best, as it features a spaceship travelling through different dimensions.”
As the new ELYSION album title suggests, extreme times are requiring extreme measures, to get rid of everything rotten inside us and let the healing begin. Overwhelmed with emotions and melodies to share, the unexpected pandemic adds a veil of darkness to everyone’s view of the world today. This could not leave ELYSION untouched either, as it influenced their new album when it comes to symbolism and atmosphere used on the record. Taking a few steps back and contemplating everything, it becomes clear that we are miserably failing as humanity.
Despite not being considered a concept album, “Bring Out Your Dead” indicates a crossover from darkness towards light; with “light being our better version, our pure nature, one that hasn’t been poisoned by the corruption of mankind“. The ten new album tracks consist of a lot of different compositions, thus letting many different shades of their musical character show. Apart from ELYSION’s distinctive own identity being prominent throughout the songs, it gave them great excitement to experiment with heavier sounds, a more alternative atmosphere and dynamics that led to an evolved sound compared to their previous releases.

Greek groove metal group ARTIFICIAL SUN have released an official video for the track Hell-o, the first track available taken from the forthcoming debut album The Giants Collapse which is set for release on May 9th via Sliptrick Records.
The band said; “This song is talking about how behind a “Hello” or a smile, sometimes people tend to mask out their true feelings and emotions.”
DOPPELBOCK have released the official video for their new single ‘Kornregen’.
Kornregen is a rock song, which is located between punk and German-language rock. Besides our instruments, electronic samples are used, which give the song a special vibe and high recognition value. The deep sub basses in combination with strings then build up the chorus big time and together with the rough vocals create a dark but powerful mood. This clearly sets us apart from classic German rock.
