Swedish band Jord are back with ‘Stay’, the second single from their fourth studio album Emellan Träden, to be released on 5th September via Hammerheart Records.
Jord create atmospheric black metal infused with blackgaze elements, folk melodies, and scenic soundscapes.
In the fall of 2020, Jörgen “Jurg” Ström (ex-Skineater, ex-Omnicidal, ex-Rimfrost) decided it was time to breathe life into a new musical vision. When walking through the forest, he was struck with inspiration from the beauty of northern nature and the haunting melodies of bands like Alcest, Dissection, and Katatonia. The name Jord emerged organically, and with it, the project’s first songs began to blossom.
Jurg‘s ambitious goal was clear: to create three albums capturing the distinctive sound he envisioned. The debut album Sol materialized rapidly in 2021, and Jord kicked off as a solo endeavour. This pattern continued with Måne in 2022. The following year, Jurg felt his initial approach had reached its limits, and Jord started embracing full studio production on their third album Tundra.
That’s when Sebastian “Hravn” Svedlund (Rimfrost, Omnicidal, Sister Sin) joined the band on guitar, and Stefan “Jansson” Jansson (Omnicidal, ex-Devilicious) claimed the drum throne. Emellan Träden is the second fruit of the trio’s collaborative work.

Progressive metal outfit BlackLight proudly presents the lyric video for “Between Dreams And Reality,” a standout track from their conceptual album Future Belongs To, issued via Wormholedeath.
“Between Dreams And Reality” captures BlackLight at their most vulnerable, weaving heavy riffs with ethereal layers and introspective lyrics that blur the boundaries between inner turmoil and serene reflection. The track carries the band’s unmistakable signature sound—an intricate blend of atmospheric depth and crushing intensity that immediately marks it as uniquely BlackLight. This sonic landscape is as dark and powerful as it is emotionally unfiltered, providing a deep connection to the band’s artistic vision.
Future Belongs To is the conceptual album from which “Between Dreams And Reality” is taken. The record highlights BlackLight’s growth as a band, blending melancholic and atmospheric tones with complex progressive metal arrangements. Influenced by giants like Opeth, Rush, Tool, Dead Can Dance, and Riverside, the album provides the rich musical backdrop that makes the lyric video’s emotional depth all the more compelling.
Abattoir (Chosen), the second single taken from the upcoming Khroma album, due out in October 2025, presents the band with a renewed yet familiar sound: cinematic soundscapes, apocalyptic samples, down-tuned grooves and heavier-than-hell guitars meet with lead vocalist Riku Rinta-Seppälä‘s fatalistic lyrics, which he interprets through rapping, toasting and growling. We all wait for the abattoir and soundtrack to the slaughter is Khroma.
Formed in 2010, Khroma has released three albums and toured Europe more than 10 times. The band’s fourth self-titled album will be released in October 2025.
Italian extreme metal project IN LIMINE presents “Unfollow”, the long-awaited first single from the upcoming debut album “Inveteratus“, set for release in October 2025. With its blend of circular, infectious riffs, ferocious grooves and unexpectedly melodic vocals, “Unfollow” encapsulates the dynamic contrasts that define IN LIMINE’s sound, a dense, abrasive and yet surprisingly accessible approach that draws from thrash, death metal, metalcore and melancholic melodic passages.
Led by multi-instrumentalist and composer Matteo Galimberti (ex-Cripple Bastards), IN LIMINE was conceived as a studio project driven by deep personal expression and conceptual depth. “Unfollow” introduces listeners to a dystopian world in decline, echoing the broader themes of “Inveteratus” – a term that once meant endurance but now suggests a hardened, irredeemable state. Through its lyrics and sound, the song reflects on moral decay and the loss of critical awareness in a hyper-connected society addicted to conformity and consumerism.
Featuring throughout the entire album, George Kollias (Nile) delivers blistering yet nuanced drumming that pushes each track far beyond genre conventions, while Laur Lindmäe (Pridian) brings a gripping vocal performance whose wide range adds contrast and emotional impact.
Recorded across multiple sessions between 2022 and 2024, “Inveteratus” was produced with meticulous attention to detail. All guitars and bass were recorded by Matteo Galimberti and later reamped at Domination Studio by Simone Mularoni, who also handled the mixing and mastering in July 2024. The result is a finely balanced sonic landscape: raw yet articulate, violent yet conceptually refined.
Thematically, the album explores the cyclical nature of time, transformation and cultural decline through a symbolic and visual lens. From Greek deities like Kairòs and Kronos to fractured sundials and crumbling clocks, every element – both sonic and visual – contributes to a broader meditation on time, change and the failure to evolve.
IN LIMINE’s debut is as thoughtful as it is visceral — a work for fans who seek more than just sonic aggression. For admirers of Death, Slayer, Morbid Angel and Lamb of God, “Unfollow” is a compelling introduction to a band that refuses to follow trends and instead crafts its own threshold.

IN LIMINE is the brainchild of Italian guitarist and composer Matteo Galimberti, who began shaping the project’s musical identity in the late 2010s. Originally conceived as a collaborative band, IN LIMINE evolved into a studio-based initiative after internal reshuffling driven by a clear creative vision and a commitment to meaningful expression through metal music.
The project name, taken from the Latin “in limine” – meaning “on the threshold” – reflects a fascination with transformation, uncertainty, and the psychological space between what was and what is yet to be. This conceptual tension mirrors the music’s emotional intensity and genre-defying sound.
After initial setbacks during the pandemic, Galimberti partnered with bassist Simone Storti, later involving international session musicians to bring the material to life. The drums were performed by George Kollias (Nile), while vocals were entrusted to Laur Lindmäe, whose expressive delivery added depth and versatility to the songs.
Compositionally, IN LIMINE’s music originates from instinctive guitar riffs and arpeggios, later structured into songs that fuse aggression and melancholy. The writing process spans years of introspective work, fueled by Galimberti’s eclectic musical influences and a strong desire to avoid formulaic emulation. Rather than chasing trends, the project aims to offer something authentic, artistically coherent and emotionally resonant.
With no plans for live performances at present, IN LIMINE operates as a studio-focused creative endeavor — a boundary-pushing entity that crafts metal not just as sound, but as narrative and reflection.
In Limine Line Up:
Matteo Galimberti:Rhythm, Lead and Acoustic Guitars
George Kollias: Drums and Percussion (session member)
Alt rock favorites Yellowcard is releasing their fourth single today, “Bedroom Posters” off of their highly anticipated album Better Days while their lead single and title track “Better Days” continues to top the charts reaching number 4 in Alt rock this week. Better Days is the band’s first full feature length album in almost a decade and will be available on October 10th. This highly anticipated album is produced as well as executive produced by Travis Barker with Barker playing drums on every song. Currently “Better Days” and “honestly I” and “Take What you Want” have accumulated over 6.4 million global streams since the release.
The single “Bedroom Posters” is for anyone who holds memories to their hometown near and dear. Lead vocalist Ryan Key says “ Have you ever come back to visit your hometown and felt crushed by all the memories that led up to the day you left? Have you ever felt like settling down somewhere meant giving up your dream? If so Bedroom Posters is for you.
This new album brings forth the best of the guys with a renewed passion for the music they make. The band agreed that making a new album was pointless unless it was the best of their career. They refused to rush the process and for the first time gave themselves permission to ask for help. Ryan Mendez invited his long time friend Nick Long into the writing sessions and it was through Long that Barker became part of the project, coming on board to play drums and produce the whole album.
“I started the record as one version of myself and came out the other side changed,” says front man Ryan Key who credits Barker with a significant impact on his personal and creative studio breakthroughs. “I went in knowing I needed help. I came out of it writing songs like I was 19 again.”

Based out of Los Angeles and originally hailing from Sweden, electronic metal groupSOLENCE mince no words on their volcanic new single “Wish You The Worst.” Released yesterday (August 15) via Better Noise Music, the song is an unapologetic and empowering anthem to be played and sung out loud when “people in your life cut you deep,” says frontman Markus Videsäter. “Some people just want to destroy everything around them…this song is for them.” Sonically, SOLENCE deploy big pop hooks and electro savvy with the heavy yet melodic intensity of trailblazing Swedish metal into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.
“Wish You The Worst” marks the third single from the band’s upcoming fifth album ANGELS CALLING, out October 3 via Better Noise Music. “I felt there was one more spot on the album for a real ‘f**k you anthem,’” Markus adds, “and in a session with our friend Jimmy we wrote ‘Wish You The Worst!’”
Two singles were previously released to get fans ready for ANGELS CALLING. “Where Were You..?” came first on May 13. Stream itHERE and watch the lyric videoHERE (over 96k views). “Dead_Alive” followed June 27. Listen to itHERE and view the lyric videoHERE(over 51k views).
SOLENCE’s lineup consists of frontman Markus Videsäter alongsideguitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson. They focus all its energy on uplifting anyone in a dark state of mind to a brighter place. “SOLENCE is all about having a good time,” Videsäter says. “Our message to our existing fans and potential new ones is that we want to bring the fun back into rock n’ roll.”
ANGELS CALLING is the follow-up to their EPBLUE MONDAY (Better Noise Music), released this past January with three new songs: “F**k The Bad Vibes,” “A Banger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away,” and “Who You Gonna Call? (Solence),” which Houston Chronicle highlighted in their “Top 50 Best Underground Music Videos of 2024” list. It also includes two remixed versions of their hit track “Good F**king Music” by Swedish-based producer MVRE and L.A.-based producer kodeblooded (Asking Alexandria, Charlotte Sands).
SOLENCE returns on ANGELS CALLING with fresh visuals, a new look, and a retrofitted sound that combines the best of their past with a look into the future for both the group and the genre. “For some reason, I’ve always felt like my time on earth is limited, as if I might die young,” Videsäter explains. “Our music is about making the most of life, relationships, and passion before heaven calls us home.”
With songs like “Monsters in My Head,” “MESS,” “All of the Pain Must Go,” and the title track, the band forms a diverse collection of their most highly charged material yet. “We are now the hype squad and the party train,” smiles guitarist David Strääf.
A SOLENCE performance is a participatory sport, with audiences encouraged to sing and bounce along, as evidenced on the many stages they’ve shared worldwide on past tours opening for bands including Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Electric Callboy, We Came As Romans, and The HU, in addition to festival appearances across Europe (Rock For People Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, Resurrection Fest, Tuska Festival, Nova Rock Festival) and the U.S. (Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Fest).
Lauded as one of Pandora’s “Rising Rock Artists To Watch In 2023,” SOLENCE have to date garnered over 370 million cumulative streams, over 940k monthly Spotify listeners, and over 96 million video views since their formation in 2012. The band started by releasing heavy renditions of well-known pop hits from the likes of Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, and Queen before breaking out with their 2019 debut album BROTHERS. It was quickly followed by their sophomore album, DIRECTION, which saw them achieve their first Active Rock radio charting with “Animal In Me” which became SiriusXM Octane’s most-played track in 2020. Octane’s Sr. Director, Music Programming Vincent Usuriello described SOLENCE’s sound as “a dynamic fusion of rock, metal, and pop elements, with powerful vocals, electrifying guitar riffs, and infectious melodies, creating an immersive sonic experience.” In 2021, SOLENCE released their third album, DEAFENING, which showed their range of inspirations from music to anime, gaming, sci-fi, and even philosophy and soon followed with their fourth album HOPE IS A CULT in 2023. Amidst writing new material for SOLENCE, Videsäter and Strääf have lent their songwriting skills to pop acts including Jason Derulo and Bebe Rexha.
In 2025, SOLENCE continues to spread its life-affirming message. “‘Until I hear the ‘Angels Calling’ reminds us that life is way too short to worry about doubt or making mistakes,” Markus points out. “We never know when our time is up, so let’s make the most of it while we can!”
